Thats why you do it from your office at work.

Hyatt House. $175/night plus tax, includes free breakfast in a suite with bedroom, living area and kithcenette. Also, very close to Pan Am pier.
-
As a haven guest you will get unlimited internet, SDP 3-5 nights depending on length of cruise, UBP includes free drinks all day anywhere on the ship and on GSC and sometimes free gratuities. Non of those are complimentary in RCCL suites except the 3 hour happy hour in the concierge lounge.

Doing the 10 day cruise over New Year's Eve. Excited to get some information on the Dawn.
We are on this one also. Great rates if you were able to book when the had the 3rd and 4th passenger free offer.
First time I ever saw that on a holiday cruise.

IMHO I think you will find Celebrity somewhere between the two. A level above NCL and not to "snooty". Much higher quality of food and service but not boring. After 11 Haven cruises we are going back to "X" ones the kids get out of high school. Good luck and happy cruising.

I think I am done with NCL, I have 5 Haven suites booked and 3 of them are 10 nighter's. It now adds $740 to my cruise in DSC for each. I think I will just cancel 3 of them and stay at one of the high end AI's on land as I don't pay extra for grats and it still costs me about $3k less for 10 days at Palace resorts or Zoetry.

Had a couple on one of our cruises back in the 1990's that liked to come home drunk and get busy every night at 2AM. Loud thumping on the cabin wall and other noises. After the first night me and my now wife said heck if you can beat em join em. Never made it to breakfast before 9 the rest of the cruise.

Thanks everyone for your input. Especially the complimentary Bahama Mama:p

Any know if the Jade is at Drydock today? She was scheduled to begin the refurb on 3/10/17 but I haven't heard anything. I have the DOS scheduled for the 4/9/17 cruise and hope it comes out of drydock on schedule.

OMG, is that the song that goes "come along and riiide on the fantastic voyage! slide, slide, slippity slide.." or something like that?!
Haven't heard that song in YEARS. You totally brought me back! *adding to playlist*
Thats the one !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great tune!!!!!!!

Not many know this song " Fantastic Voyage". Originally done by R&B group Lakeside. Great for dancing on the deck during Sail Away. You can find the video on YT.

Folks this is not going to happen for two reasons. First the power of the US consumer and the almighty dollar. Secondly, the amount of business done by US companies in Europe. As a US businessman with companies in 47 countries please relax as this all political posturing.

I stay in suites and have gotten OBC from my TA ranging from $750 to $1500. In the past I have purchased a Go Pro, a cabana on GSC, and even put it toward the purchase of an expensive watch. I consider it a gift and use it to splurge on the family.

The two ships in question would be the Celebrity Summit and the NCL Dawn. Having done both I would prefer the Dawn. The only swaying factor to the X line would be the quality of their food which I feel is slightly better than NCL.

Cozumel at Chankanaab park

I have done it 3x and always take all of the insurance coverage available. Make sure you check the gas tank level also before you leave and what the attendant marks on the rental docs. I have been scammed before. I still would recommend this with alamo or avis as it is a great way to see the island.

I wouldn't put adults in there IMHO. Too small. We used it for when our kids were young but now as teens they split up and use the pull out in the living room as they fell the room is cramped for two people.

I haven't been in a few years but i thought it was only like 5 bucks to get in and then you just pay as you go. As previous poster stated snorkeling is not what it was 10 years ago before the hurricane.
-
Just rent a car. Its 25 dollars a day and you can come and go as you please. I have been going to cancun/cozumel for 36 years and have never had a problem.

Drydock is supposed to be March 10-30.

Not sure if you are into seafood but we love this place in downtown Miami. CVI.CHE 105. Food is always fresh and it is close to the JW Marriott where we always stay.
-
Please post about your experience when you return. I will be in that same Black Diamond Suite right after the dry dock and would love to hear about your experience. Info on your Butler, Concierge and favorites would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Anyone have any advise or suggestions for places to eat in Miami the day before we cruise in a couple weeks.

What kind of food, atmosphere? Breakfast, lunch or dinner? Indoor or outdoor?
Caribe Hilton or Hilton Condado Plaza?

To be honest I prefer the Doubletree by Hilton. I have stayed at all three and the Doubletree is the cleanest and best maintained of all the Hilton properties in SJ
