We have cruised extensively with RCL and Celebrity, but this will be our first with Princess. Looking at the Sapphire Princess South America and Antarctica 1/8/2026. Does anyone know if there should be a preference for port vs starboard for this particular cruise? And, we're trying to decide between a BE Balcony on the Caribe Deck vs a Premium Balcony on the same deck. Is the difference really just the location? Would love to have a loveseat vs a chair. All input is appreciated!

I do not see any recent reviews of this class, so I've sent an email inquiring if she's still doing it. It's SO my thing!

This info is super helpful, as we arrive VAC on the Millennium 9/15 and are spending two nights post cruise, then taking the train very early on 9/17 to Seattle, for two more nights before we fly home. Not a seasoned Amtrak traveler, so all of this discussion is relevant to me! Thanks!

Just got off yesterday. I expected that the ship had an actual pickle ball court, in the sports area. Well, there is NO sports area! They set up a "court" in an area just forward of the Sunset Bar, and I'm quite sure they provide paddles/balls.

I sailed on Beyond the last week of January. The Theatre entertainment team had just switched from the previous cast so they only offered two production shows in the Theatre, Elements and Stage Door. I thought Elements was spectacular with entertaining special effects in a production show that I had never seen before. I was less impressed with Stage Door because I'm not really into Broadway shows but my fellow audience members really enjoyed it giving the cast a standing ovation at the end. I also enjoyed Wonder at Eden: Paradise.
The best show I saw onboard was Jazz Joint by the Eden cast. I went to the first showing and enjoyed it so much that I went to the second showing as well. It is in the Night Club so get there before doors open (1/2 hour before the show starts) if you want to get a good seat.
The first night comedian, Corey Rodrigues was Ok but nothing special. The magician, Matt Johnson was really entertaining as well as funnier that the first night comedian. I briefly watched Our Lady Valentine, a trio of singers but I ducked out early so I could see the second showing of Jazz Joint. I did not see Jesse Hamilton, Jr. an R&B singer on night 3 so cannot comment on him. I also missed Joanna Marie on night 4.
Jazz Joint was also one of my favorite experiences. Such a cool concept, to turn The Club into a speakeasy!

The entertainment is very subjective. Overall quality is not bad IMO. The guest entertainer was outstanding. Just one thing, oh boy it was loud. The shows would be much better if X didn’t try to deafen me. Wish the AV technician would sit with the audiences to hear how bad it was.
Oh, man.....do I agree with you!!!! SO LOUD!!! Someone said their Apple Watch told them the decibel level was too loud, and they should leave.

I was on Explorer a few months ago. They served "Battered Fish & Seafood" one night in the MDR and "Classic Fish & Chips" another night in the MDR -- I heard people at the pool talking excitedly about Fish & Chips for dinner. Both meals were very good, and I wish they'd make the Fish & Chips an every-day MDR classic in place of the Salmon.
I was on a 3-night on Independence earlier this week. The "Battered Fish & Seafood" was available one night in the MDR.
Of those two ships, only Independence had the Fish & Ships fast food venue on the pool deck. I didn't taste their food -- seriously, what makes it good enough to pay for when other lunch items are available only steps away in the Windjammer?
"Fish and Ships" food is free on the Independence, except the lobster. We thought the fried fish was the best thing we ate on the ship, the entire cruise! Now the "chips", well.....they could use some improvement.

Are you the primary person on the reservation? Only the primary person can see the full folio on the app.
Yes, I am primary and interestingly enough, my husband could see his charges on the app.

When cruising on the Symphony last month, the app would rarely show me my charges. I finally went to Guest Services the last evening and asked for a print out. They told me it would also be emailed the day after the cruise. That did happen, but not until about 3 days after. Cruised on the Independence last week. Same exact issue with the app not showing charges. Didn't bother to go to Guest Services this time, expecting an emailed invoice shortly after arriving home. Well, it's been four days, and though I've gotten repeated emailed reminding me to fill out my survey, NO invoice has arrived. Is this their new way of ripping people off, since if you have charges on your account that you haven't made, you certainly can't contest them once you are off the ship? Anyone else with these issues?

I sold my RCL stock at the start of Covid, as the price was going down, and it seemed like every cruise I tried to apply it to.....was not "combinable with other offers". Has this changed? If so, I'll buy it again.

I just read that some people were very excited because two of their favorites just boarded, after the Transatlantic. Pool Band "Island Vibz" and the other is called "Music Venture". I'm excited to hear them in November!

I wish someone would answer you. We are booked in the first one after guest services, and I did that because I read a review saying that was an awesome cabin. I'm anxious to experience it in April!
-
How soon after the end of a cruise, do your cruise credits from that cruise show up on your C&A account?
-
We have cruised in these cabins multiple times over the years, and currently have 7108 booked on the Serenade in November. It used to be that those balconies had two loungers and two chairs. Then, for awhile RCL went through a phase where loungers were no longer allowed on balconies. I'm wondering what the current status is in these staterooms? Has anyone cruised in one since the "restart" and can say for sure what the balcony currently has for deck furniture? Thanks!

Have been searching to find out what Celebrity is doing now for "happy hours"? We are Diamond Plus with RCL and they now are just giving us 5 free drink coupons per day to use whenever we want. Celebrity is still having "in person" gatherings? What are the hours?
Thanks!

Thanks so much!!

Can you please give me some specifics on your tour? Time/Place of pick up? How many did you have on the tour? Cost? Length of tour? Did you feel safe the whole time? Is it suitable for "seniors"? Thanks!

I have a Summit cruise scheduled for February and was trying to reach this agency for final payment. I called twice and emailed twice over two weeks with no response. I finally went to their Facebook page and messaged them there. I was very quickly called by "Melissa" who took care of all of my concerns. She said their phones have not been working for DAYS (really??????) and they had never received my emails. I have paid final payment. Everything seems to be in correctly in place now, but I would certainly NEVER use this agency again in the future!

I just booked 6030 for a cruise in Feb 2018 and it will be my first time in a Sweet Sixteen cabin. Excellent choice from everything I've read. It's nice to spend the least for a balcony cabin and get such a great balcony. If you just search "sweet sixteen" on these boards, there is plenty of info on these cabins. Good score!

Thank you for the replies!

I have the same question. Anyone have experience with those forward Deck 13 cabins? Noise from above?
Anyone have any favorite Deck 13 D4 cabins that aren't noisy from above?

Using these on Sunday and feel much better with these excellent instructions. Now, we four country bumpkins have to draw straws to see who has to do the driving in the city! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this very complete instruction.

If you have been on the Breakaway, what was your experience with cigarette smoke? I am used to the casinos being so smokey I cannot go in them, but I'm reading more and more accounts from people saying that smoking is allowed in many areas on the Breakaway and it is very noticeable. I'm particularly interested in the Waterfront area. Is there a smoking and nonsmoking side, or is it a free for all??
Please help with cabin selection on Sapphire Princess.....
