Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We have questions about the Panama Canal reducing the number of ships being allowed transit due to the drought. Have any cruise ships been denied access to the locks? We have a partial transit cruise next month on the Rotterdam and the Panama Canal’s new locks are the highlight of the cruise. Since we can’t seem to find anything on the boards to give a clue as to if this is happening, thought we’d ask the experts here. Also thinking we could call HAL but we’re not sure we’ll get a straight answer from someone that will lose money if we cancel. TIA
  2. I put our new medallions in our wristbands tonight for our cruise in one week. All worked fine.
  3. Well I used the Stock Perks app and received my OBC last night. Such a hassle for us older folks. Sending a fax was simple. There should be something on the Princess website about Stockholder Onboard Credit submission (if it's there I couldn't find it). I do appreciate all of your help. Bon Voyage!
  4. We sent our fax on December 28 and haven't heard anything. Have checked our personalizer daily and no shareholder credit so far. If they no longer accept faxes, why don't they correct the CCL website? They have a warning about sending this info by email but from what I'm reading here that's the way to do it now? Our cruise is January 28 and I'd like to get this done.....
  5. Thanks everyone! Great ideas and I will check them out. Sadly our flights from Holland America were relatively cheap but not a great itinerary. Athens to Amsterdam to Paris to Dallas/Fort Worth was not my choice of how to "see the world"! I roll with the punches and look at it all as a "great adventure"!
  6. Yes, it’s the NS October 1st cruise from Athens. Our “new” boarding time is 6:40 pm. Arrive at airport at 11 am with HAL transfer and are wondering how this will work.
  7. In need of some advice…the situation is we are two couples flying home from a cruise ending in Athens, Greece. Our first flight from Athens lands around 8 PM and we don’t fly on to Paris until 7:30 AM the next morning. Not a great itinerary but it was the best we could get. Our question/problem is what do we do at the Schipol Airport for 11 1/2 hours overnight? Any ideas would be appreciated. TIA
  8. Thanks y’all, you’ve eased my mind on this.
  9. I might just do that! Thanks
  10. Thanks for all of your help. I have already looked at the menu and hoped I would find something to substitute that I could eat. The idea that there are no appetizers, sides or desserts I would eat with a dressed down steak isn’t very appealing. I am hoping somehow we can substitute Cannelletto which we would both like.
  11. Quick question....we have a 12 day Panama Canal cruise booked with HIA. We made a reservation for Pinnacle Grill then got the bad news that we can't have 2 PG nights. The only restaurant offered online for our 2nd night is Tamarind. My husband would eat there but I don't eat any kind of asian food and don't want to sit there watching him eat. What can we do about this situation? TIA
  12. Wow, 5 days before you sail! Glad you're happy with your assignment. I guess we will have to wait a few more weeks for our November 26th B2B cabin assignment.
  13. TA cruise was in March, filed in May, many phone calls later, still waiting to be reimbursed thousands of dollars.........
  14. We are on the same B2B with y'all and we are also waiting on Cat F cabin assignments. Checking every day and not being very patient. We did have our cruises booked separately but have them linked in the system. With that said, on another cruise line we had the same situation and they assigned us a cabin for the first week. After we were onboard, we were told a cabin change would be made for the second cruise. The cruise line had sold our cabin for the second cruise and we didn't get our cabin assignment until we were halfway through the first cruise.
  15. My DH and I did a B2B last December, an Alaskan cruise this summer and have a B2B coming up this November/December. Last year, we also wanted to go casual and pack light. Great idea and we did it again for our Alaska cruise. Never went to the dining room and had great food in the buffet. After all the cruises we have taken, we have been to the dining room many times. We did not miss the experience of the dining room at all, the food in the buffet on HAL is the best we have experienced. Lots of choices and always fresh including steak and prime rib. To each his own.....
