  1. I agree w/OP on the food. Lamb Shanks were marvelous - we got the RC cookbook and made their recipe for Christmas dinner! Fabulous!

I love all the Indian Food they have on the ship. I like to try them and mostly I really LOVE them.

We like sitting w/wine and having the cheese tray. We also enjoyed the

Wine Tasting and the Martini Tasting! We also love looking out at the sea and I hope to see something out there (whale, fish etc...).

Have met marvelous people and enjoy talking to them.

I was reading another post on the boards about RUDE people and luckily I have never encountered one!

  2. Everyone has answered your questions - we also loved Adventure from PR. We are going in Feb. on Jewel. She sails from PR - we are going a day early and doing a walking Dinner Tour and are staying at Hotel Plaza de Armas in Old San Juan.

We did a lunch excursion when we stopped at PR for the day - on a Carnival Ship and liked it so much - we wanted to do the Dinner version!

The only thing about PR is the airport and the LINES for security. I've never seen anything like it

    Enjoy!

  3. That is a tough time to be leaving - Puerto Rico had the LONGEST lines for the security screening that we had ever seen (my husband is a TSA Security officer) - so I would say you will need quite a bit of time for the lines...

I would suggest touring Old San Juan - but not sure what you would do w/your luggage. We will be on Jewel In Feb. 2014.

We are newbie cruisers sailing on Jewel of the Seas from San Juan in January. Love this website for all it's hints and tips. We are flying out on disembarkation day at 14.10 which is too early for any RC trips and as our final destination is the UK don't think we can use the luggage service. Any tips for things to do as TA not being any help or should we just head to the airport?
  4. Sounds like I need to bring my plastic Carnival glass w/me on my upcoming cruise!!

I sure missed those Carnival "glasses" on our May Ecstasy cruise, they were noticeably no longer available  -and the replacement was not nearly as tasty going down the hatch! Nice to see some ships still have them, it is like a ritual on a cruise. Maybe now that Bob is back the glasses will return.

Looking forward to your additional photos. It is so refreshing to see how crazy you and your bride are about each other! Carry on!

    Susan
