Since I started reading this tread I've been unable to get Egon out of my mind. I can't understate what an inspiration he has been to me. If and when I get to the place he was when he started his adventure I would like to think I would do the same thing. I'm sure his son Steve is so proud of his father.

Anything you can share that you haven't already? If they are personal I understand but wouldn't it be amazing to keep this thread going?

I finally finished reading Egon's inspiring saga and want to thank everyone who took part of sharing it with CC. And also those who posted about their own life experiences. This was a real support group. Very heartwarming.

Well, we're back to where we were on 8/25/2014! The site is all messed up again. Can we hear something from you, Celebrity?

It's working for me this morning, sort of...when I go to View Reservation it says it's On Hold For 24 Hours. And I booked this at the beginning of July! Back then it was on hold for 24 hrs but after that 24 hrs we were shown as Booked!

I logged in this afternoon with no problem. I clicked on "manage my reservation," and on the tab that takes me to the page for booking extras. The page came up, but when I clicked on the icon for booking shore excursions a strange error message came up. It read, "How unfortunate! You are trying to plan your vacation, and our site takes one."

 

 

 

Celebrity, your sarcasm or attempt at humor was not appreciated!

 

 

 

I tried to check prices, and no cruises would appear. I tried to sign in agan and got an error message telling me that the function could not be performed at that time.

 

 

 

Several hours later I tried to log in again, and a new log-in templet comes up each time I try to log in rather than an error message or list of my bookings.

About 3 or 4 weeks ago I got that same massage in red about how unfortunate it was that X was taking a vacation on their website. Not humorous at all. When are they going to get a clue. Will X really still be in business when it comes time for us to take our or your next cruise?

This is pathetic. Thought X had resolved a few of their website's problems a couple of weeks ago. What a way to run a company when customers or potential customers can do nothing on-line. I feel sorry for the agents who have to deal with all the frustrated people.

We haven't eaten in Murano but had a fabulous birthday dinner for my husband in the Tuscan Grill on last Fall's TA. Would go back in a minute. On our Baltic cruise next June on Silhouette we will be giving Murano a try too.

I just got off the phone with the captains club who contacted the shore excursion group while I was on the phone. According to them the offer ends on October 31, 2014.

 

 

 

We are interested in some excursions on our Canada-New England cruise but since it is a year away and the list of excursions is only a partial offering. The Captains Club representative told me that if we book 4 now and switch one out at a later date we would still qualify for the OBC of $40 pp. This is a new experimental promotion from Celebrity and they know a lot of the excursions are not available yet.

This is literally impossible. There is no way they got the address out of no where and associated it with your profile. You or someone with access to your account would have had to provide the address at some point for some reason.

 

 

 

You think they just sent your documents to a random address and it just happened to be that of someone you know?

Maybe Commodore used the recipient of the luggage tags and docs name as a contact for "in case of emergency"?

Loving these Santorini pictures. We had such a great time there. Oia was the best. Didn't do the donkeys however. We're a little older than you newly weds. Your pictures are wonderful.

I had that same message for my last X cruise. That "on hold for 24 hours" lasted for at least 2 weeks. Finally got my TA involved; he got that taken care of. Right now everything is working ok for me but there is no doubt that X has a very "unfriendly" website.

Does Celebrity skip the threads about the website?

I'm pretty sure they don't. I started a DEAR CELEBRITy thread that caught someone's attention. They made a couple of reply posts but they were pretty lame. They were even upset enough with me that they were able to get CC to remove 2 of my posts. I think they're watching but just aren't able to fix things.

Have the over-bed cabinets really been removed?

The cubes can be placed in the cabinets over the bed. I used 4 @ 12 inch by 12 inch Craft Maid cubes from Target for our 27 day b2b on Reflection last Fall. They kept everything very organized.

I received the email for our upcoming transatlantic. It's not great, but it's better than nothing. I might or might not take advantage but the Dec 31 date is pretty early for a cruise that embarks 10/31 of next year.

Or is it October 31? Be sure to read the fine print :)

Thanks for the input Everyone. I missed the discrepancy in the cut off date for the promotion: October 31 or December 31. I also didn't read all the fine print about when the OBC is applied to the folio. I'm so glad there is this place called Cruise Critic that helps so many people with their questions.

No, none of our 123Go options show up but on previous cruises they haven't shown up either. We just take copies of everything we receive from our TA and print outs of our booked excursions.

Hmmm…. looks like two different offers, although related. The OP has one for Europe requiring 4 shore, the other one is for repositioning (transatlantic and transpacific) cruises requiring 3. Interesting. I didn't get either e-mail.

 

On the transatlantic/transpacific, booking 3 shorex gets you $20 OBC, 4 gets you $40, 5 gets $60, 6 gets $80, and 5 gets $100. Not a huge incentive for booking ahead of time, but there's never been any incentive before, so this is something.

So if one person books 3 shorex they get $20 OBC. Then 2 people get $40?

I'm not too good at cutting and pasting but I was able to do this for the European offer. Hope this helps. BTW, we are already booked for a Baltic cruise next June so you might not get the email if you're not already booked.

I received an email from X today advertising OBC for early booking of excursions in Europe if booked by December. Anyone else get this? Both my husband and I are having trouble figuring out exactly what the deal is. I know you have to book at least 4 excursions. Would love to hear from anyone who got this and can translate it for me! Thanks :)
