Who does one ask for these specialty restaurant discounts?
-
Where are you looking? When I sign on to Celebrity's site, the landing page (the one listing upcoming reservations) shows my Elite status. No individual reservation page does though.
It should be printed on your xpress pass. This will let you use the Elite line for check-in which is generally one of the shorter ones (depending on the cruise).
If you get to the ship and don't have elite benefits (not printed on your card, wrong coupons, etc.) then let the CC host know and they'll correct it.
Thanks. I do see it on the website, but not on my Xpress pass. Any idea where on the Xpress pass it should be? (Maybe it's there and I'm just not seeing it).

My reservation shows my Captains Club number, but not my Elite status. Should it show Elite? Once I check in, will my card show me as Elite?

I was going through my grammas photo albums last night and came across one from 1980. Gramma and Grampa sailed the Veracruz for 2 weeks out of Barbados. Gramma said it was a great time! She has lots of photos.
I will let her know that the ship is now gone. Maybe she will let me post a few pics:)
Would like to see some of those pics.

The Equinox had some excellent lectures about the ports during our Mediterranean cruise -- history, current sites; no shopping "tips" (unless one made the mistake of attending the wrong kind of talks). I don't recall exactly when the talks were given, but they didn't conflict with excursions on port days; and as was pointed out before, they also were shown on the in-cabin TVs.

You’re misreading my comment, or my intent. I was simply saying that if cruise ships avoid troubled areas, lives might be saved. If that offends you, I’m sorry. I have nothing more to say about it.
-
Yes. Regardless of where in the world you are all transactions on the ship are in US Dollars and USD is the currency in the casino.
Happy sailing,
Jenna
Thanks. I believe that I will try this. This is the first time I expect to have any OBC remaining at the end of the cruise.
-
If I get cash at the casino to use up my OBC, will I get it in US dollars? (I'll be cruising around the Dalmatian Coast, in case that makes a difference).

THis is the most ridiculous statement I have ever read.
My goodness; you must not have done much reading.
-
Whilst I do so agree with your statement, do you realise you have resurrected a 4 year old thread?
Yes, I do. Nonetheless, perhaps passengers who complain about skipping a port -- as they did four years ago -- might stop to think that perhaps there is a good reason.

Good news for solos the two newest Royal Ships, Quantum and Anthem have solo balcony cabins that can be had at a very good rate!! I booked the 7 night Bermuda and Boston cruise for next summer.
Finally, solo balconies? That's exciting; must check it out!

I'll bet that the Costa Fascinosa passengers who died in the recent terrorist attack at the museum in Tunisia would have been much happier if the ship hadn't stopped at Tunisia.

Not strenuous at all. Lots of boardwalk-type walkways. Lots of beautiful, small rushing waterways. QUOTE]
It looks so pretty; I really hope that I can get there.
-
Nothing strenuous there! There are some uphills and wooden stairs, but nothing special.
Thanks!

Methinks Celebrity is overreacting. I have no idea what's on the tour, of course but I seriously doubt they are going to take random passengers on a rough hike. lovely place.
I suspect that you're right. There is nothing in the tour description that sounds at all rough. I may need to reserve under someone else's name or go with an independent tour operator.

Celebrity’s shore excursion from Zadar to Krka has a maximum age of 70. Is visiting Krka so strenuous that I should worry about it (I admit that I am slightly over 70, but I can hike and walk without difficulty) if I go there on a private tour, or is Celebrity just being overly cautious and arbitrary? Does anyone know why they would put such an age restriction on the excursion? Exception for that restriction, it doesn’t sound like one would need to be a super athlete to do it.

Must be doing some website matinence today. I'm having issues checking out excursions, and now it says my reservation is being changed, please try again in 20 minutes. I'm in an excited state of vacation planning so it's been a long 20 minutes :D
It isn't maintenance. The 20 minute wait time is standard (and ridiculous). It happens every time that you back off too far from what you've been doing.
-
We all know this, but I just had to let some of my frustrations out by reminding everyone. I tried to book several of the ship’s excursions, but – as usual – every time I went back (even if I just looked at it and didn’t order anything) it insisted that I wait 20 minutes (not true – I tried after 20 minutes and still got the same idiotic message) and try again. Why? At this rate it could take me a week to book the excursions that I want. Why don’t they fix this abominable website? Don’t they care? Nothing on it works correctly. Okay; now I feel a little better. But I’m still frustrated.

I saw people having trouble with the steps too. They said the lights along the steps actually made it harder to see.
Andre (cruise director) acknowledged that Divina knows that the lighting on the steps makes it difficult to see, and said they hope to correct that during dry dock by changing the type of lighting. Besides the lighting, the raised strips on the edges of the theater steps are easy to trip on. But the superior quality of the shows makes up for the quality of the steps.

Can you bring a bottle of wine on board for use in your cabin on the balcony?
No, you can't. But you can order bottles of wine to be delivered to your cabin before sailing, for drinking in your cabin.
-
I definitely think that you should call your TA and have the cabins changed.
-
Take good care of the ship; we'll be onboard this time next week. And enjoy!

Is there any reason why you can't just walk to the lagoon, instead of taking the tram?
Are there any nature trails on the island? When I was there earlier this year it looked like they were planning some for the future.

I just got off he divina lst aturday. Before i left, i read so many bad reviews that i was concerned whether to go or not......well im back to tell you, that i worried for nothng!!!! The divina is a beautiful sparkling ship with the nicest crew. Seems that the food was a big concern, but i ate all my meals in the main dining rooms and other than getting lukewarm soups a couple of times, the food was very g ood. I never saw 2 for i drinks, but they had a great book of tickets ( i think 12 for $55) and could be used everywheres. (there was about 20 bars) if youre worried about how the crew acts towardyou, i always smiled and said good morning ,to everyone first, and that made all the differnce! I take 4 cruises a year, and will probobly take the divina again no complaints!!:
Were you able to pick up the drink tickets at check in? Or did you have to go to some place on the ship to get them? I have pre ordered them, but I remember that the last time I sailed on the Divina with a preordered package they sent me all over the ship to get my card notated appropriately.
Have pay for dining venues reached their saturation point?

Thanks for your suggestions. I may try for the 50% discount. Otherwise, we'll be eating in the main dining room every night.
