perhaps the app has gone through an upgrade, as it does show you with a sliding bar the activity, then when you go into the event you click on who's coming (it shows everyone on my travel party- there's 4 of us) you click on those in your party who are interested and then you bookmark. The guest count (and bar) increases. not detailed at who for all to see , but the count is there. If capacity is reached it states so, and you cannot bookmark or click on the travel profiles to bookmark.

We are going to Parrotville next week, but I booked a private transportation/tour of the island and asked this be one of our stops. (there are four of us.) I did read on a post on a travel site from one cruise couple who spotted it on the way to the beach on the ship tour, and on the way back asked the tour to drop them off there. After their stop (they said it was fabulous) hey then walked down the hill a bit to a McDonalds and waited for the city bus to take them back into town/cruiseship area. Apparantley that worked for them.

I'm still packing.. the Gold & White for the Love Boat Piazza Party, though I am unable to confirm it on the Medallion App as the event has reached capacity (150). Seriously though, its at 10:15pm surely someone will bail out and make room for just little me, right? After all I just got my white pants fresh from Ebay in the mail today, and only have to hem about 3".. and my gold top looks great - lets just hope there is air conditioning 🙂 in the Piazza. I found the most PERFECT sandals at the thrift store for $5.99.. OMG they are inspiring and yes GOLD ACCENTED! How can I go wrong? I'll look like a million bucks.. I"ll still show up.. 🙂 I'll update with a photo of my beautiful plus size , mid sixties self trying to merge in. I'm sure hubby will be asleep by then... Inspiring words always bring a smile! PS: I just found gold glitter polish for my own self pedicure and manicure, after I soften up soaking up at Princess Cays and retreat to my stateroom.

thanks! I don't wish to be standing in pouring down rain in FLL 🙂 but I do know there is an Elite line which applies to me, but not my 3 other travelers with me. 🙂 We are all 'Ocean Ready green but non of our party of 4 have ever seen a boarding time. We all fly in a day early, did purchase our air from Princess.

Please explain casino discount/comp cruises
melodyina replied to Mississippian's topic in Princess Cruises
I've received casino offers and discounted casino pricing. Here's what I can tell you based on my experience. I booked on-line once without any princess or travel agent and I saw a casino credit appear on my portfolio once booked. This actually surprised me as I wasn't expecting any casino credit and was pleased with the amount ($300). Another time I got my spreadsheet going and determined my room and cost, but phoned princess directly. Without mentioning 'Casino' the agent saw i was eligible, and my room costs went considerably down (but could have been because i'm elite status) and I had a casino credit. So in the future - if i'm wondering about a casino credit, I will call Princess and book with their agent directly. -

Another Elite Benefit Bites the Dust AFAIK
melodyina replied to Princess Chatterer's topic in Princess Cruises
I agree. Its a separate location now, to wait for the next tender for Elites. I would much prefer a quicker return to the ship, rather than disembark, but perhaps that line is there already and i've just not noticed. -
I booked them both.. at first it was numbing (as I"m paying for 4) and you don't have the option for OBC usage at time of booking early. We sail in July, and reserved for 4 at 7pm for each restaurant a couple days apart. I've never spent this much even going out for dinner locally.. but oh well.. i'm excited and it will be a great experience (as the main dining rooms have certainly changed..) 'it is what it is' and i'm sure it will be a lasting memory, and hopefully a great photo too. 🙂

The deep discounted prices are for 'new bookings only'. -
Mini Suites on Deck 8 in back on Caribbean Princess
melodyina replied to margord's topic in Princess Cruises
Great answer and I have experienced this last month. I am booked in a mini-suite on deck 8 of the Caribbean sailing this upcoming July. The Caribbean Princess has two itinerary's on their route alternating each week. About 120 days out I was watching on-line.. I had previously booked a balcony on Caribe (1/2 covered balcony) but REALLY wanted a mini on deck 8, nothing was available at that booking time about a year ago. Then - Sure enough 120 out the entire mini-suite section was opened up on and available! Now, with the new 'upgrade' bidding system, I knew that the ship didn't upgrade and move everyone out of that area.. and it was not yet final payment day (when other great rooms open up...).. they just magically appeared! So yes, I grabbed one! I too absolutely love those mini's with the covered deck. My guess - the B2B blocking for those grabbing that itinerary was released. -
Caribbean Princess - Port Everglades - Disembarkation
melodyina replied to BuckeyeTraveler's topic in Princess Cruises
Great answers from everyone, but I would like to add that some have had the thought of 'swimming in the morning' and enjoying the ship to the last possible moment. This is not the case. You will find pools roped off and your luggage leaving your room the night before, and a very 'rushed' routine of breakfast buffet. Those that choose self-embarkation will be pulling around their suitcases and the hallways are just a clutter of staggered cruisers waiting for the color to be called off. Yes, you can waiting in the lounges and find coffee, but your last day on ship, is certainly staging the groups of people. Note - plan on longer waits at the public restrooms near the lounges. -
So true, especially when I sail the Caribbean. I am not used to 'hot humid' weather, so I sweat. I must change clothes 3 times a day! If I sent everything out to laundry, I'd run out of clothes. So I do both, I use the ships self-serve laundry, at least 2 times a week, and I 'send out' items I don't plan on wearing again.

Can I buy Future Cruise Deposits with Onboard Credit?
melodyina replied to sirclean's topic in Princess Cruises
from my past experiences, the answer is 'no' as the FCC is never applied to your shipboard account, The FCC is charged to your credit card registered with the cruise you are on, immediately. I have had some luck, with purchasing a FCC to a different credit card presented in-person when making the FCC deposit. -
I just booked Sabatinis - $35 for Sabatinis and Crown Grill was listed at $39. This would be on the Caribbean Princess.

Can you bring fresh flowers (roses) onboard...?
melodyina replied to NavyCruiser's topic in Princess Cruises
Flowers from what i've learned.. you CAN bring flowers on-board, but they must be purchased from a retail store (or florist) and you need to keep them in the original package with the sticker., or wrapping or boxed...however the store/florist sells them. This ensures that the flowers are not (say for example) a rose cut from your garden and brought on-board. This is also my assumption of the gal who had her rose thrown away, it was a rose on a stem with no packaging. The purpose of this is to prevent any bugs from being brought on board that may be hinding in your personal floral garden, or a wildflower bouquet you brought from the roadside. -
Can you bring fresh flowers (roses) onboard...?
melodyina replied to NavyCruiser's topic in Princess Cruises
That used to be the normal place to order them, and I haven't seen the flowers offered since post-covid. I always purchased flowers for the room, its just not offered. I will check with guest services though to see if there is a change, and its just not advertised. -
Oh Bummer! my Princess rep, didn't call me back in time..
melodyina replied to melodyina's topic in Princess Cruises
Brilliant Idea - I should have 'booked' on-line to block the room. Also - i've never had her directly answer the phone, everything is alway an initial voicemail message for first contact, and any subsequent contacts. I can honor the 'first come first served' style she must be adhering to using voicemail as the calllog.. (imho), but I am surprised as its now Wednesday. On a chuckling note, I brought my phone with my everywhere, everyplace as I just new as soon as I closed that bathroom door, the call would have came.. perhaps I should try to escale the call by taking a shower..:-) that's just my luck. -
I'm booked for this upcoming July, on the coveted Caribe deck. Very nice! But, after doing my income taxes, I decided to treat myself from a balcony to a mini-suite. My favorite deck is the Emerald for the Mini-suite, as its fully covered, and me being fair skinned and sun sensitive, love it! There were three staterooms left last Sunday. I called my Princess rep and left a voice message on her extension Monday morning stating room number and desire for upgrade but wanted a $ quote first. Monday went by.... no return call... Monday night, 2 staterooms on Emerald left. (Perhaps she grabbed my room !! ??) Nothing changed on my invoice.. ok.. Tuesday came, no call yet.. but I'm hopeful... Tuesday afternoon, no rooms on Emerald left, but I see there is a 'guarantee ' for that category (Aft - emerald - MiniSuite). So here we are Wednesday morning, still haven't heard from my Princess rep. This will mark 3 days waiting for her call. I believe my room change dream has dwindled... so looks like i'll try that bidding process after I make final payment.. I wonder if she will call?? Then I wonder if she is still working?? Just how long does one hang on as the voicemail strictly says only leave a message once... and onwards..but I do love my 'coveted 1/2 covered balcony on the Caribe deck' so I am happy where I am.
