Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – quiet

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – on hump, fantastic view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized, at least twice as deep

    Was wind a problem? no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? none

would prefer bed by balcony, viewed cabins set up that way, seemed more easier to get into closet. Cabins need more drawer space.
  2. Angie B a few more tips- it looks like you are just starting induction- Do WHATEVER you have to to get thru the first 4 days- if you have to eat a dozen boiled eggs a day and a pack of turkey bacon- just do it, once the bad carbs are out of your system, you will be able to do induction properly, and you will feel great- I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but sugar free sheila is a life saver- just google it. Try and stay away from those bars and fake candy and processed so called atkins foods, chicken breasts, romaine lettuce, spinich (don't forget to measure you veggie carbs) are your friends. I'm telling you, if you are ready, this really works.

  3. Atkins book on ebay $ 4.35

Trip to the grocery store tonight $160

Changing my life - priceless !!!!!!!

Ok, so I'm ready to start Induction tomorrow and of course I am excited and a little nervous at the same time. I will weight and measure in the morning and post then.

I do have one question (situation) that you guys might help with: I hate water. I will eat ice, I will drink flavored water and sugar-free koolaid but I do not like plain water. Problem is that I have checked the flavored waters (like crystal light)and sugar-free koolaids and they all have aspartame. What do I do? Suggestions would be welcomed!! I did buy some Sprite Zero (taste like watered down Sprite but do-able) but I know I am to limit diet drinks so I can't drink that for 2 or 3 weeks.

Found a great deal on ground turkey at the store. Apparently someone screwed up the order and they received way too much. Since this is a really small town, it does not sell well enought for them to keep that much for an extended period so they placed it on sale. It is the Butterball brand in packs of a pound each and it was on sale for $1.24 per pack. We bought a few packs to see if we like it. Made a turkey-loaf with it tonight. It was ok. Seemed like a less flavorfull ground beef. Maybe I needed to spice it up more. Anyway, if anyone has recipes for ground turkey I would love them!

Off to watch a little tv and get some sleep before the big day tomorrow!

try arizona diet green tea- it's sweetened with splenda. I have a 32 0z container with a spout, I mix my green tea half with water, three of these a day and I've had my intake. I also recommend Morning Star chicken grillers- you can pop them in the micro wave and they have 80 cal each and 2 net carbs- I think they're tofo. I zap them and top them with a teaspoon of mayo & a sliced bubbies pickle.

They are really great cause you can make them so fast when you are desperate!

  4. Cerabella; everyone has stumble moments, I actually plan mine ahead of tme every 3 weeks I have a treat day... I pick my one favorite thing and have it, no guilt! I think it helps me not feel deprived.

Deck guy congrats! There's something something about hitting a milestone that just seems to motivate and help you kick it into high gear. I do know that those last few pounds are tough to drop. Stick with it!

  5. Cruise Kitty - 80 oz! How do you do that!?!? ... I know..you said you drink it..but I wouldn't get anything done that wasn't very far from a bathroom! :p

.....and the green tea for appetite? hmmm and I thought that was a myth?:o

    !

I've been doing it for about 9 months now, at first I was in the restroom every 30 min, but now it's just about an hour and a half (sorry to be so personal) I buy plain loose green tea and brew it at home, i keep the 80 oz jug at my desk and just drink it all day. I don't think it helps with appetite, but it has anti oxidents and supposedly it helps you burn about an extra 100 cal a day. Plus my doc says it's good for the kidneys.

  6. Hi Deckguy..I use Magnesium/Calcium tabs at night and this helps a lot with moving things along daily. Gotta have my cheese...:p

I take the citrucel tablets (4 a day) They are easier for me than the mix fiber, and they really seem to help. You have to swallow them with plenty of water, but that's not a problem for me, I drink 80oz of green tea every day. I noticed that when I skip the fiber, the scale tends not to move as much.

  7. hello all,

I have been doing the atkins diet since Jan 20th I have lost around 18lbs feel much better blood pressure down. I am going on a cruise this May I was 244 now i am at 226lbs I am 5-9 my Target weight would be under 200lbs would be great..I need some help for quick breakfast ideas.

I would to hear about any other recipies that anyone has to offer..thanks

My dh and I buy the egg beaters from costco in bulk. You can make a really fast omelet or scrambled eggs with them. They have 30 cal and 1 carb per 1/4 cup. You just shake up the carton and pour it into the pan, very fast and easy. On Sundays we hard boil a carton of eighteen eggs and keep them in the fridge for quick snacks during the week, if I'm running late I just grab one and eat it at work.

  8. ...I have to say I had success with Atkins while it lasted. I started with the induction phase about 3 years ago. I remember losing 12 lbs in 14 days. Getting past that was difficult though.

Does anybody have "lessons learned" or "tricks" to keeping the momentum going?

I've been a lurker on this board for quite a while- I started atkins last year and have lost 65 lbs so far- just 14 more to my goal weight. There are periods where I've hit a plateau but I just keep plugging away- I guess the best way to keep the momentum going is to look at it as your way of life, not a temporary diet.

To deckguy- for years my husband was saying we needed to do 'something' about our weight and health- I don't know why I waited so long, for whatever reason it hadn't clicked that I really and truly could change- I guess I was afraid that I would diet and feel deprived and still not lose the weight. Your wife might have the same fears. We are so happy now- we ride our bikes almost every day, we found that we can still go out to eat all the time- we just make sure it's low carb! I wish I had done this 4 years ago, but I try not to look back anymore- just enjoy today!

  9. I'm doing an HCG Diet, through a local clinic here in Orlando. I've tried lots of diets, and this one is definitely the most effective and easiest to stick with. I've already lost 8 pounds in less than a week. The best part is I'm not hungry, irritable or exhausted like with all other diets I've tried.

My starting weight was 176 and my goal is 140 (I'm five foot nine). I have a lot of friends who have used this clinic, and they've lost all the weight they wanted and kept it off for over a year. The clinic says it'll take 8 weeks or less to reach my goal. Then I'll be ready for all the formal Christmas parties and our Mediterranean cruise in May!

Anyway, I feel like I've discovered the best secret for dieting and just wanted to share. Is anyone else doing an HCG diet?

Good for you Sunshine! As long as you are getting plenty of water and taking a good vitamin & calcium supplement every day then 800 cal. a day for just 8 weeks should not be a problem. Definitely lifting light weights every day so you don't lose too much muscle. It always amazes me how when someone begins to lose weight the saboteurs (usually overweight themselves) seem to come out of the woodwork. My favorite diet mantra is "I've come too far to take orders from food"

  10. Joel, you have my scorn-you made fun of a little kid?

My guess is he won a swimming medal or spelling bee medal or something similiar and proudly wanted to wear it. I think it was very kind of his parents to allow him to wear it.

This reminds me of a picture of my hubby as a little boy. He is wearing a scarf around his neck. Why? Because his favorite TV character from his favorite TV show wore a "cravat" and he wanted to be like his favorite character.

Yes, my MIL found it silly and feared he would be made fun for wearing her scarf to sc hool on picture day but still she allowed him to do that because it was important to him. You know loving parents do that.

Shame on you for making fun of a little kid who was simply proud of a medal he had won.

I also find it very jerky that you entertain yourself by making fun of people's photos. It defiently does not say much about you for sure.

Actually, sadly some 'loving mothers' would let their 10yo wear a medal all the time, or a cape or scarf, which is why God invented good loving DADS, who would take one look a his boy dressed like that, say "Son, I love you, and I'm proud of your medal, but give it a rest, you look like an ass" I feel nothing but pity for kids whose parents are afraid to say it like it is, they usually have a tough time in life as they get older. And, if I ever have a whoops, I crapped my pants moment, feel free to laugh, because I certainly would be!

  11. A little nook somewhere, outside, where the two of us can be totally (I mean totally!) alone...

You'd be surprised how many there are.

    Clue: try the top-most decks.

    Anyone used a lifeboat?

Gee, I used to look forward to photographing the lifeboat interiors..:p jk, actually, I think cruising brings out the "outdoor enthusiast" in many couples (us too)

  12. No time to read whole thread, hope these aren't repeats:

    Water for Elephants

anything by Mary Stewart ( old fashioned mystery/romance )

    Patricia Cornwell (mystery)

    shopaholic series ( fun)

The Historian (best book ever, travel, mystery, history, romance)

and of course, good old Harry Potter

    enjoy!
