  1. If Allure was going to be out of commision for 5 months it would be on every major news outlet and RC stocks would be tanking heavy right now due to the enormous cost of having one of their biggest profit centers loosing money for that long. So unless Allure is not seaworthy she will be sailing at reduced speed and modified itineraries until they get her into dry dock. Even with reduced speed and modified itineraries I will have a blast with my Family on our cruise on her in October as its still a cruise, still a vacation, and Im still not at work!

Exactly. Amazing how everyone takes a mechanical issue and turns it into the end of the world and out of commission.

  2. Reading everyone freaking out on here about some intinerary changes or a mechanical issue like its the end of the world is pretty funny.

Its also a pretty sad state of adulting and emotional control in society. Things break, they cant be controlled, not everything will fixed in 5 mins. I am on the Sept 3 Allure cruise, ports got changed. So what. Still 3 stops. Its part of cruising....ESPECIALLY this time of year. Royal has not stated there will be a dry dock yet, so quit speculating. Its not helping.

  3. We just contacted them. I was hung up on before I could get to the point. Great customer service! Staying with Carnival from now on. Understand the contract states they can do this, however making the change a day or two after final payments were made is really low. Glad we get to sail on a busted ship to a port that we don't even want to go to!

Have fun on your Carnival Poop Cruise....that was a change after final payment too btw

  4. Alamo / National / Enterprise (select location code MIA or Miami Airport) - uses the Miami airport location

Thrifty / Dollar (select location code Miami Cruise Ship - Shuttle) - They also use the same counter as the Miami airport location

Hertz (select Miami - Port of Miami) - uses the 229 Southeast 2nd Street location

Budget (location code P2F) - uses the 89 SE 2nd St location

Avis (location code Q8M) - uses the 99 SE 2nd St location

I tried that HERTZ and Avis location online, both said that you can not return a car there.

Thanks for the info though, very informative. I will call the bottom 3, see if it can be worked and if they offer shuttle.

  5. I know this has been asked before and I searched the forum but found only partial information and some of it was several years old....

Flying into FLL day before our Cruise out of Port of Miami. Would like to rent a car for the day to get around Fort Launderdale and Miami for the a group of 4. Would like to know who will allow rental car return in/near/around Port of Miami and/or has a close easy to use shuttle into the port.

I noticed Budget let me search and find an option for this on thier website, but HERTZ and AVIS it was more difficult to confirm where I was taking the car to in order to drop-off and if there was a shuttle service to the port itself once we dropped off.

    Any thoughts/suggestions let me know.

  6. Honestly I am glad they have added San Juan and St Kitts to Oasis class itineraries I nthe east and Roatan in the west....I was really annoyed that Oasis ships all went to the same places year after year. When the dock in CocoCay and Grand Caymen get built even more variety can be built into the canned itineraries.

St marten does have "more to do" than St Kitts but more and more ships are going to St Kitts so that will change.

  7. Ok, I have been to St Kitts before, we went to South Friars Beach which was fun.

We are cruising with another couple. Both young couples (young 30's) and trying to decide between Frigates Bay Beaches and Cockelshell Beach. We like it to be somewhat lively (a good beach bar or several), a place to get chairs, and just enjoy the beach.

Thoughts? Heard Reggae Beach Bar area at Cockelshell Beach is good...is the beach area big enough to not get too crowded? How about South Friars....seems to have more beach bars and a larger beach (looking on google maps)

  8. Oh well, just won't order room service and then consider different lines in the future, the less that's included the more likely I will be to move to a different line.

Also I seem to recall the brochures state that room service is included so by UK advertising law any charges would contradict the brochure, interesting

No you wont.... every mainstream market line is doing this..... so

You will pay exorbitant amount of money more for a higher class line.....

or you just wont order room service.

Honestly people, Cruising is growing exponentially. the market, sales, profits, ships. You can grip about it not being like "back in the day".... we you also had 40,000 ton ships and 10% of the people cruising then that are cruising now.

  9. The only issue I have with this towel policy is that if you want to use the pool or hot tub the last night, the towel stations are closed. Even if you return the towel the next morning, they don't refund the charge on your seapass that was put on overnight. We had this happen to our 3 sons who returned the towels with their seapass cards the morning of debarkation and they were charged for not returning the towels.

NCL will swap pool towels left in your room during morning and evening room servicing. Kind of eliminates the need to go to a towel station at all.

  10. Been to Coz several tomes and returning in January. Going to walk around again as we love the town.

Any places, squares, markets, streets, points of interest worth venturing towards or to that are off the main tourist strip? Great little bars or locations? Local markets?
