We are on Britannia in 15 days and my kids have just been sent home from nursery with suspected chicken pox. I would imagine they will be fine in 2 weeks time but should they still have spots by then would we risk being denied boarding as it would be well past the infectious stage by then?
If they are both showing symptoms now then in 15 days time they will be fine to travel.

I had previously read that this was to happen fleet wide, so we were very surprised on our recent Britannia cruise to see they still had wine waiters, in fact there seemed more of them than normal.
Yes Azura is the first, then Ventura then Britannia.
-
Did you have a good cruise Matty? We are on Azura in 4 weeks time.
Yes it was a lovely 12 nights. Weather was fantastic on all days really. Captain Neil Turnbull is in fine spirits and a real good laugh.

That's good to know. I know my wines anyway ( I'm not a wine snob but we have a wine importer in the family!) so probably won't miss the expertise!
You waiting to disembark? Or ashore already?
I'm still in bed in my cabin :-)

Thanks Mattybarlow. Did you find the wine service better ...or worse...? I like my wine on time with my meal which was one of the issues with the wine waiters previously. I ended up always pre- ordering otherwise it was pot luck when I managed to catch the wine waiter!
No real difference really. A lot of pax are complaining about the change but it didn't effect us that much. I'd say you don't have the expertise that a wine waiter can give but the overall experience is not really spoilt.

Not much has changed really. New carpets in public areas (not cabins). New Pandora area. Odds and sods shop is where library used to be. New livery. Business as usual really.

Just got back from Azura today. Oriental is indeed the club dining restaurant. No more wine waiters as your waiter does the drink ordering and this is then brought to him by a runner.

Britannia doesn't have pods. Only Arcadia does.
Oh yes i remember now. It was quite suprising at the time when it was annoucned she would have conventional propulsion.
-
Huh typical! Kept checking on and off all day yesterday and I missed her leaving!
You would have needed to be up at about 2am to watch her. I woke up by coincidence and managed to catch it. Its quite suprising how quick it all happens.

The ones further out removed the huge door to the dry dock.

Canaries cruise is Sunday, they brought forward her arrival into Southampton either yesterday or the day before.
Takes about 36 hours to get to Southampton. So asking as she leaves by around midnight Friday she should be ok.
-
I don't think she seems to be sitting any different to the last couple of days. It maybe that when she resettled she didn't quite settle flat. The cranes wouldn't be holding her up that's for sure. My guess is that the prop seals may not have seated correctly or something a long those lines.
-
Really interesting Matty, had just made the assumption she had pods and had not realised she has a classic propulsion system. I'd wrongly assumed all modern Fincantieri ships had pods, as obviously the Vista class ships do, which are a similar age to the Grand class ships.
I believe that of the P&O fleet only Britannia and Arcadia have pods. All the Grand class are traditional.

Does look as if the water level is still moving. I wonder how much of a delay that will cause.
A bit worrying as im on the first cruise back.
-
Guess there must be an issue with a propulsion pod
She doesnt have pods, she is Prop and rudder.

Not far from bembridge in the Isle of Wight

Scheduled to be at Nab pilotage at 20:45 tomorrow evening.
-
She is due out of refit early. Now scheduled to be in Southampton on Friday evening where she will dock at the QE terminal. Then on Saturday she will move to the ocean terminal after Adonia has left.
-
We are sailing on her on 19th April straight after the refit so will post back
Mark
Snap :-)

Yeah but he will appeal so it will be some time before he's actually in the clink.

Hi Matty,
Hope you and the family are well.
From an old OV refugee.
All good here G Man ;-)

She's been flat out since she was launched in 2010 so she's bound to be a bit used in places.
