Matty, I'm sorry to hear that your cruise has been altered. But thanks for the info about the actual date. I'm more and more convinced that it's connected to the events on 3 May involving Cunard. I could speculate that if it was planned that Her Majesty was going to be present on 3 May then the security services would want the port to themselves on 2 May. And if HM's presence hasn't been announced yet, then 'Port Congestion' would be a handy excuse for now.
Yes the congestion excuse is rubbish. Southampton can handle 3 large ships easily.

Hard luck on your cruise being curtailed but at least you have been offered compensation and the opportunity to cancel unlike the original poster.
Which port of call has been dropped? according to P&O the cruise is still calling at 7 ports
Lanzarote has been dropped. This now sets up a day in Lisbon with Ventura and Adonia so should be a good sail away.

This all starts with cruise A508. We recieved a letter last week stating that due to port congestion in Southampton on the 02/05 (only 3 ships), our 13 night cruise was being reduced to 12 nights and we would arrive back on the 01/05. I find the port congestion excuse a little thin as the other ships in are Ventura and Britannia.
We are now booked on A508N, have recieved a nights money off our total and we will recieve £50 OBC per person booked. We were also given the opporutnity to cancel and recieve our deposit back. This consequently pulls the following 3/4 cruises forward by a day until the the 2 night to Guernsey which now becomes a 3 night. This then puts Azura back on her original cruise.

Not been on Adonia but from what I have heard it is more for the over 60's

I thought the Britannia cruises looked particularly cheap!
It will be very interesting to see what they do with pricing on Azura dn Ventura expecially as they now have to find another 4000 pax every two weeks!

Cruises are to be announced on 20th and go on sale week after.

We took our 14 month old boy on Ventura last May. The nursery staff were excellent. We never had any problem getting him in the nursery from 6 onwards but it fills up later in the evening. They will only page you if the baby wakes up and they can't settle them. This happened to is once in 14 nights. Our boy also used the kids club and got a lovely leaving present at the end of the cruise :-)

Hi C at Sea, did you notice if both Azura and Ventura are sailing back to Southampton in March 2015 or is one going to the Med again ?
They are both based in Southampton. Oceana is based in the Med in 2015.

Azura and Ventura again
They have 3 ships in the Caribbean????? Surely not? They can't fill two at the moment.

Just back from Azura Caribbean cruise. Saw new brochure whilst onboard. They said would be out in March and onsale beginning of April. Found the brochure bit complicated! Also Caribbean cruises same old same old! There seemed more choice of ports when we first started doing the Caribbean in 2010. Fly cruises still there and look interesting.
Apart from Britannia, which ships are in the Caribbean?

I would be very happy to travel with Titan. They are generally a high end charter company. They do a lot of the Premier League teams transport when they are playing in Europe so the planes are in very good condition.

I'm more interested in what this will mean for the rest of the fleet in terms of pricing and destinations. P&O now have to find 4000 more pax every two weeks (ish). Filling Britannia won't be a problem but filling Ventura and Azura may be.

They're here:

Just change the Tipo to Crociera, then you have to view each date individually which is really rather annoying.
Thats the one!!!!!!!!

Hi
All you very clever detectives could maybe help me then - we love to cruise and have only docked in Ibiza once - we would really like to do it again - can you find out which cruise lines will be docking there later this year - and in 2015 ?
Hope you don't mind me setting you the challenge - as I cannot seem to find a ship that does?
~thanks in advance

Anthem of the Seas will be visiting there at least once in 2015.

Was looking for ages but couldn't find them! It really is a pain Civitavecchia's port schedule. Which dates did you find it booked for?
So Monte Carlo and Dubrovnik before/after. Then it seems like it will be the same as this years fly-cruises pretty much then.
It was July I think. In the end I got fed up with it.

As has been mentioned previously, Oceana seems to be the ship that is doing fly-cruises in 2015. However, if that is the case, perhaps the wish of the Eastern Mediterranean might actually happen! Oceana isn't appearing on Civitavecchia's cruise schedule at all. Now surely, if they were doing Western Mediterranean fly-cruises, Rome would be included. Perhaps the Eastern Mediterranean will be the new fly-cruise destination then.
Oceana does appear on the Port of Rome arrivals and departures for 2015. It's a real pig to find but she's there. Ports before and after appear to be Monte Calo and Dubrovnik.

Really? It said it was due to be completed in 2013. LOL Guess things move slowly there just like in the US. Thanks for the information. ;)
They are changing the road infrastructure currently as when there are 3 or more ships docked the roads are packed. They may sort that out then build the new terminal.

Are you including the new 5th Terminal in your count?
No, it hasn't been built yet. I don't think it's even been started.

You forgot 104 Cruise Terminal Western Docks:
104 is the dock number. It's next to 101 which are both served by the City cruise Terminal. 104 dock is generally used when there is more than 4 cruise ships in. Ocean is 38/9, mayflower is 106 and I forget what the QE2 is.

Princess uses more than one terminal in Southampton and there are now 5 terminals
Still only 4 terminals. mayflower, City, Ocean and QE2. Looks like Emerald will use all 4 at some point this year.

OK. Now I know what you're doing. If you don't have major plans for turnaround day, you can go over to the big mall which is just about outside the port. We stay at a hotel adjacent to the port, but last time there they would not let us walk in. Maybe it's different on turnaround day. Anyhow, if you feel like walking, there is an exit and it shouldn't be difficult w/o luggage. Just a bit convoluted. Then you can take a taxi back if you need to do so. Nice area to spend a few hours. There's also a pedestrian area at back of mall and lots of boutiquey stores, kiosks, restaurants, fast food, etc. Also a Walmart store which has another name.
The Mall is called West Quay ( pronounced key). There are quite a few ATMs there. The department store Marks and Spencer's normally does good exchange rates. The Walmart store is called ASDA. Which terminal are you docking at? If it's the Mayflower then there is one at the Tesco near there.

I suspect they will both be overshadowed and outsold by Anthem OTS.
Certainly from the family market.

Well it is if this thread is correct.

Those Orkney schedules certainly seem to suggest she will be in Southampton especially as Island Princess looks like she is taking over the Royals route. If this is the case i find it strange that Carnival would over shadow Britannia by bringing another ship of the same class to Southampton.
