  1. We will be flying to Boston in September and cruising on Brilliance for a New England/Canada cruise. I have a small scooter but the batteries are heavy...they are the 12 volt kind that come in a case and last for 9 miles or so..:p I have heard lithium batteries are a lot lighter but don't know where to start looking for them. How do I take the extra batteries onto the airplane? Will they just load them on with the scooter?

Thanks in advance for your help...this is all new to me!!!

  2. No. You will have to bring your own WC or other device. The WC on board are not for use off the ship

Incorrect...I have used an RCCL rental wheelchair for my last 2 cruises......the crew helped pull the wheelchair down from the gankplank to the port. I also got assistance at muster drill and all ports that I wanted to see. I chose not to tender in!

  3. :)...just curious to know who it will be. Also wondering if Izumi is as great as it was 2 years ago! Silly questions but I am meeting my BFF on Freedom 10 May to give her respite from her husband who has early onset of Alzheimers/Dementia...he is only 64. I have reserved Chops, and Nachi Cocum in Coz.....any other suggestions are welcome!:)

    Thanks in advance, Lynda :o

  4. Thank you so much. Happy to hear that you are enjoying my review. Not sure why you thought I was an EMT.....the sight of people in trouble or a crisis scare me. I am a TA so I do a lot traveling for work purposes [emoji6][emoji2] there's no better way to check out a cruise than to cruise on it yourself.

I have NO idea where I got that EMT idea from, I must have you mixed up with another CC reviewer! How cool it must be to be a TA and travel that much...do you ever get to go overseas?

  5. We always have either a big breakfast or lunch near the port before we board. The WJ on embarkation day is way too much of a buzz kill for us....if the cabins are open, we drop off our carry ons in....if our luggage is there then we unpack (if we feel like it!!!). We then head on out to find our soon to be favourite pool or solarium bar to have a bevvy and chill! Gotta wait for that muster drill.....that is a total buzz kill but a necessary one!

  6. You are more than welcome. I did miss one that I was confused about. Hope seetosea comes back to clarify..

:o If it's not too much trouble, I would also like to see the information about discounted airfare. We flew to Sydney on United via business class 5 years ago and it was $10,000 for the two of us....more than our cruise in a JS aft! email addy is lyndaunderscorehoogerhyde@yahoo.com the underscore is this not written _!!!

Thanks in advance, loving this review!!!

    Cheers, Lynda

  7. This is just my opinion...but I would definitely check with the state department before risking all of the stuff across borders right know with photo copies..buy new scuba equipment, rent..even forfeit a cruise..worst case scenario for sure...just thinking of that poor marine?...well... US service anyway, young soldier with horrible PSTD who took a wrong left turn..languishing if lucky..as there have been poor reports of abuse.... in jail, I am soo very sorry but be careful...Sarah

Prayers and my best to you...I think the world and our borders are a mess and getting worse...and it is very very hard to realize the danger and the mess until you are in it..your partner just had his passport stolen...think about that alone and all the stuff going on worldwide..contact the state department and be realistic..as hard as it is...again..my opinion only but I think we have only begun to see how tough things really are right now and I would not cross a border without a special state department clearance/info/escort of some sort with the situation as it is...and perhaps even someone from US/Mexico patrol there and aware of whole deal.

Good luck and I leave it to someone with more wisdom....

    Again so sorry this happened.

Not an answer to the question. Not helpful at all.....

  8. If he has a copy of his CA drivers license then getting a replacement license won't be an issue when he is in CA. For the passport issue I suggest calling 877. 503.9838 which also has a live chat to answer your questions at rushmypassport.com

Hope this is helpful....please let us know how it all works out.

  9. :o We have never flown into Baltimore nor have we cruised from there. We're being risk takers this trip and flying in the day we leave (4 July). We should (emphasis on the should, I know!!!) get to BWI around 1030. Does anyone know approximately how much a taxi would cost to get to the port from the airport and approximately how much time it will take? Thanks in advance.

  10. We booked a last minute Bermuda cruise on Grandeur OTS last week that leaves Maryland on 4 July. We wanted inexpensive so looked for an inside cabin...all that was left was an inside guarantee so we bit the bullet and booked!! The best part is that is was only $1200 for the two of us and we got a small upgrade to an outside/window cabin!

    Lynda

PS Not that it matters but we booked directly with RCCL on line.

  11. No credit cards are accepted. (I recall reading there was only one taxi driver in Bermuda that had the ability to accept credit cards.)

Normally there are taxis available at Dockyard, but without an advance reservation you can't be sure whether a blue flag guide will be available at the time you want it.

Yeah I am the one who stated there is ONLY one taxi driver that is equipped to take credit card...and it is true !

So no...cash only with taxis or to buy public transportation tickets also.

    Have fun !

Thanks for the info you guys!!! This will be our first time in Bermuda and we are so looking forward to it.

  12. not on rccl but an italian line

what's the world's best selling record? huge argument. is 'record' a single song or entire album? host didn't understand any of the arguments and opinions of the players. no fists were thrown but tables were pushed over on purpose.

That is pitiful....grown, adults pushing over a table while disputing a game. Grow up people.... I would hate to be playing trivia with people like that...DH and I only play if the weather is inclement or there is nothing else to do. We don't play to win, we play to have fun and meet other people!!
