1. The connection party is though Celebrity (although I have been to many and in recent years, they aren't that good.) The cabin crawl has absolutely nothing to do with Celebrity. They are set up by someone on your roll call and that person asks for volunteers to show their cabins. Sometimes it is at a different time than the connection party. Unless your butler or the concierge knew who was organizing the crawl, how could they have known. Since this is your first time involved in a cabin crawl, I can understand how you got mixed up. Did you participate in your roll call on cruise critic? They would have told you when the connections party was because the list of when and where it is going to be held is there.[

QUOTE=junetraveler2014;46221879]Not to get off the subject of this post...connection parties are through Celebrity and the cabin crawl was scheduled to follow the party and we were not notified of either, yet both butler and concierge agreed to find out for us, since it was our first time involved with one. So I stand with being Dominic's and Caesar's dropping of the ball.

2. Curt,

Thanks. It is interesting that when we were on Connie in a Royal Suite in Feb., we were able to get a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) any time during the day. I wonder if it is a problem staffing Michaels Club all day with bar servers? We were in there all times during the day and there was always someone there.

We will be in a Celebrity Suite on Summit in August with extended family so we may not use Michaels Club as much.

3. This is from the Royal Caribbean website:

Coastal Kitchen

Exclusively for Suite Guests and Pinnacle members, Coastal Kitchen fuses Mediterranean influences with the unmatched riches of California’s bountiful farmlands. This is a destination that exudes pure freshness.

What makes you think it is just for suite guests. It doesn't say it is on the website. It says no restrictions and attire is casual so I would be surprised if it is for suite guests only. No other restaurants appear to be.
4. This happened to me using a RC open certificate from 2013. They would not transfer the booking because it was more than 60 days. The clock started when we bought the certificate. It is probably the same situation with you.

I have a Celebrity Passages open booking from a 2010 cruise we took that I am trying to use to book a cruise with a travel agent. We completed the Celebrity booking transfer form and got it over to Celebrity via fax, and regular mail around January 12. It is now March 25 (72 days later) and they still have not transferred the booking over to the travel agent. Repeated sending the form over two or three times and a few phone calls... still nothing. Has anyone had a similar situation? Am I missing something here? Why is this such a lengthy process? Is it because I want to transfer it to my travel agent?

Any help or advice would be appreciated... Thank you.

5. Don't worry about it. I always call enhancements before my cruise and make reservations for my complimentary suite dinners. It does say payment pending, but you are not charged for the reservations. This is a wonderful perk that Celebrity offers.

Thank - You for the phone number. I called, made my two complimentary restaurant reservations and when I received my confirmation it says payment pending. I told the Celebrity agent I did not want this on a credit card being it was a Suite Perk but I am concerned because it stated payment pending. For those CC's who have pre-booked how did the perks appear on your Product Summary Confirmation Sheet? Did it say Paid or Payment Pending? Hopefully I don't need to go to Guest Services to correct charges that were perks. I assume she would have access to my credit card on file when I booked the cruise. I will be on a 16 night TA and I would appreciate your experiences in this matter, thank-you.
6. As for luggage tags, you haven't been able to get them in the mail for years unless you are in a suite.

If you cruise on Celebrity, they send you printed luggage tags in the mail.

You must not have sailed on Royal Caribbean for a few years.

I am sorry that you are disappointed, but you try and not let the little things bother you.

I have no idea what they heck is going on at RCCL lately, but I've HAD IT. First of all, their website is in complete shambles. I've logged on to find that my PAID FOR reservation is not showing up. I log off and log back on again, and voila, there it is. Dinner reservations that I've made and paid for are gone. Only to reappear sometimes--not all the time. Forget shore excursions. I can't even log into the program to reserve those.

Dynamic Dining? They can keep it. I want to enjoy my vacation, not schedule every minute of it.

Reserving at a speciality restaurant? The reservation says "$0" for Sabor. Great. Only after reading these boards do I find out that I'll have to pay when I get onboard. OK. That's fine. But could you please TELL me that on the reservation page so I can plan accordingly??

But today was the last straw. I called RCCL to request luggage tags. The agent told me that effective March 1, 2010 there is a $5 fee for luggage tags because everything is online now and I should print my own. I have cruised RCCL since 2010. NOT ONCE have I been charged for luggage tags.

I'm done. If this cruise wasn't non-refundable at this point, I'd cancel. Royal needs to get their act together FAST if they want to retain their client base. I'm a Diamond member, not new to cruising. I'm watching the decline in customer service, and I'm darn angry about it.

7. The bridge tour is offered to diamond plus, pinnacle and suites only. You can do the all-access tour, but that costs $150.

I was wondering how you would get started in joining the Cabin Crawl? Also, is this limited to Diamond Level only?

I am also wondering about doing the Galley/Bridge tour that someone said was complimentary, regardless of C&A level. We are Platinum right now.

Any help would be most appreciated.

8. That rule changed last year. Children accompanied by a parent are allowed in the concierge lounge during happy hour. That is to accommodate suite guests who are traveling as a family.

But on most ships, children are not allowed in the Diamond lounge during happy hour.

I'm not picking on you, and I'm not going to read through the whole thread...but I just came off Liberty. The rules clearly state that due to alcohol being served in the Concierge lounge, no person under the age of 18 is allowed in....well, guess what...there was a boy of about 6-7 yrs old in there.

Where was the law-enforcing Concierge??

Also, someone had smoked in my cabin prior to my arrival....where was the room attendant to enforce the no smoking rule???

My point is that rules should be followed...there's also a way to enforce the rules so that no one feels belittled. There's no crime, per se, for a non-D to be in the Diamond lounge...so for the Concierge to belittle the mother and daughter is the wrong way to handle such a situation. It's the Concierge's job to enforce the rules (I guess when they feel like it), it's not their job to be rude and belittling to the very beings that provide their pay cheques.

9. Your best bet would be to book an owners suite. You would have more room.
I'm assuming if we booked an Anthem grand suite, we'd get something like this? Hmmm...need to do more research as we would be using a pack and play and that glass table would be a problem.
10. You can bring your little boy into the concierge lounge at night during the cocktail hour. He will be welcome.

Hello

We had a booking on the Allure for balcony cabin, but then a suite opened up and we went for that instead, but missed out on their all inclusive offer (Select package I think). My TA said though that the concierge lounge was pretty nice, and had free drinks between 5 and 8. However we have a little boy and soo wouldn't really be able to use lounge during that time as he won't be in a club (were thinking of 1/2 hours during the day, and then some evenings for him to go to club, and we would use lounge during these times). Which means we may not get to use this perk at all. Is the lounge open the rest of the day?

Thanks, only second cruise we have ever taken (Disney Wonder first, but that didn't have a concierge lounge) so not sure on the concierge perk at all on Allure.

11. If it refundable, why would you pay a 5 percent fee to cash it out when GS would give it to you for free. The casino route should be used for non-refundable OBC. In fact, one time GS gave me the cash instead of refunding it to my credit card.

You also have an option to cash it out in the casino for a small fee.
12. No, I don't think that you will be able to. Your travel mate will get three drinks loaded on the sea pass card so those can be sued during the 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. time every night.

I am a step down from Diamond but my travel mate is Diamond. When I printed our luggage tags I could only print Diamond tags. What does that mean for me on board (3/21) Quantum. In the past sailings I was able to attend any events that she was invited to and am wondering now about DL etc. Anyone know if I'll be allowed in the Diamond Lounge? Thanks
13. We were just on Constellation in a RS and you do not have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. You can get to it off the living room. I didn't like the RS because I thought it was too dark. We have a Celebrity Suite in August with my husband and I, our daughter and a seven-year-old child on a rollaway. I think it will be better.

In your situation, if you don't mind being tight, but having all those perks, I say go for it.

The OP is asking about Summit, an M-class suite and the RS bathroom is definitely not through the bedroom.

I am pretty certain that the bathroom is not accessed through the bedroom in the RS on S-class ships as well but the Celebrity UK website appears to have changed since Tuesday and I could not find out how to find the information on the ships. [Nice move Celebrity!]

14. No, a connecting cabin would not get the same benefits.

Even whoever is in your cabin would not get the same benefits (besides being able to check in with you) if they do not have the same status. Royal Caribbean is different from Celebrity in that regard.

But I always say if everyone has priority check-in, then no one has it. Suite and Pinnacle guests really have priority check in, then diamond plus. But most times it does not matter.

I agree I would not do for people in a cabin. Next year I'll be traveling with three friends. We are getting to connecting cabins. I'm a gold member of the Crown and anchor loyalty program and I know whoever is in my cabin get the same benefits I do such as priority check in etc. would my friends in the connecting cabin receive the same benefits if they're on my reservation? 4 people 2 cabins 1 reservation
15. Terry,

We are planning to go on the Solstice (Australia and New Zealand) in Jan. 2017 on the same cruise you went on. The cruises basically has the same ports except on one trip it goes to Melbourne after Sydney and the next cruise it goes to Tasmania.

Have you been to both Tasmania and Melbourne? Which do you think would be a better stop?

I really appreciate all the help that you give.

Thanks so much!

16. Patti,

That is the problem that I have with the RC's suite program, it is so ship-specific. We usually travel in suites and our experiences are so different depending on the ship that we are on. I would wish that there would be some consistency.

Unfortunately, that does not happen on Allure.
17. The concierge is different on RC ships than having a butler on Celebrity. The concierge does not deliver room service. On Adventure, we had a Grand Suite and besides having drinks in the concierge lounge, there were very few things that we asked the concierge to do. One good thing is he or she will escort you to the tender boat in tendered ports. And when you disembark at the end of the cruise, the concierge will take you down in a special elevator.

The new CEO of RC, Michael Bailey said that new suite perks will be announced in late spring. Maybe that is to compete with Celebrity with their new suite program.
