  1. There are also several pontoon boat style tour groups that do the tours also. The only one I have used personally is on Ramp Rd in Cocoa Beach. I booked it for our cousin and she loved it...fully covered boat if you are sun sensitive.

What is the best way to get to Cocoa Beach from the ship?

  2. We will also be on a cruise with Port Canaveral as our first stop. Most of the threads I can find discuss PC as a departure port not a stop. What can we do there?

We have already done airboat rides (twice) been to Kennedy Space Center. We really are not interested in taking 1 1/4 hr each way trip to Disney. There has to be something to do that I am missing? Thanks!

  3. Hi, we've sailed BA three times and the pictoral reviews have a good # of pictures (see/look under the Signature link below here) - go thru them to see what you need, 2014 and 2015 hosted on Dropbox - 2016 were mostly direct uploads using Tapatalk.

Try doing "Save As" to your PC's folder to see if those image's resolution are adequate or not. Original hi-res. ones are stored on my private server/cloud/Google drives - which I can transfer & load to share and enable download of the ones you need.

If this works, post back & give me a little time for ...

Thanks! I did managed to find 3 more pictures that I was able to use. I appreciate it.

  4. why don't you try reaching out directly to some CC Members? There's a lot of photos here, and maybe they'll share

That is what I was trying to do with this thread. I certainly thought someone would offer to post a pic or two, but nope.

I finally found 2 more pics. There is a FB open group of Breakaway and Gem cruisers and I could copy from there.

  5. i hate this about NCL. other websites have flashing lights on their available cabins or make them even different colors

Thank You!! I just booked a Princess cruise, went to their website and I could see exactly which cabins were available and which were not. Clicked the blinking light and it was super simple.

  6. We sailed on the BA in October to Bermuda. I am in the process of doing a Shutterfly Photobook of our cruise. Unfortunately, I lost a flash drive with about 50-60 more pictures....so I only have 41 to chose from. I am not coming up with enough good pictures to complete the book. Any suggestions on how to get some generic photos of the BA or the food on the ship that I can use? Is there any way somebody could let me use a few of their pictures? Suggestions? Thanks.

  7. There are more than 15 cabins available per my TA. I just was trying to avoid having to call her back several times. We need 2 cabins and I had to keep calling the other couple back and forth also. I was hoping there was some way to see more available cabins. The other couple has their own TA that they have used for years and I have mine. So we were each booking with our own TA. I'll just call back and forth. Thanks!

  8. I do not know what I am doing incorrectly. I have the sailing, the category and the deck picked out.

I would like to pick a cabin mid ship to aft. Put I am not given an option to pick or see what cabins are available. On the left side of the page is different cabin #s and : Choose a stateroom # from the list below or pick the one we've selected for you:

I do not really want any of those cabins. How do I pick a cabin that is not listed? There are other cabins available because I had my TA check. I do not want to have to keep calling her back to see if cabin XYZ is open. ??? Thanks.

  9. I was looking at a cruise sailing the beginning of November, so if I book it before 2/3 - I should get the double points?

808cruisef - I think you may need to hold onto that message from NCL, several folks may need it 10 months from now.

  10. Three trips to the Bahamas varies times of the year on different NCL ships - never once did we get to GSC. Certainly hope you are lucky then we were.

I enjoyed the Sea Lion Encounter at the Blue Lagoon, something a bit different than the Dolphin Encounter that everyone usually does.

  11. Le Bistro good too, I think I had lamb chops.

We're pondering doing the Pearl over Thanksgiving, thus I've been reading up on it...

Same here. We are thinking about the Pearl over Thanksgiving also. We love the Gem, I believe that is a sister ship also.

Did you check out the sailing the first week of December? Same price for 9 days as the 7 day over Thanksgiving. We are not sure which we are going to do.

  12. I have sailed both ships, the Gem twice and the BA only once. I would definitely consider sailing either of these ships again. I thought I would not enjoy the BA just because of the size of the ship but I found it very easy to navigate within the first days. I did not feel crowded at all on the BA, except for the pool area. Yes, the pool is very tiny for a ship this size but with a winter sailing you would not be using the pool until reaching much warmer weather.

My main concern of sailing on the BA in the winter is the disembarkation. You can read all the threads about it. Unless you are staying in The Haven it is absolutely horrible. Plan on being outside in the cold for at least an hour just waiting to get into the terminal. This terminal was not set up for 4000 people and on a Sunday morning you can certainly feel it.

  13. From what I can see:

BA will be sailing out of NYC Jan 2018- April 2018.

From April '18 to Oct '18 she will sail out of Copenhagen and then return again to NYC from the remainder of 2018.

April to Aug the Escape will sail out of NYC on a Bermuda itinerary and three sailing to NE/Canada in Sept.

  14. Harvest Caye was very disappointing. While it was a beautiful island they were nowhere near ready for visitors.

Some of the buildings didn't even have electricity yet and they could not swipe your card, they said they weren't ready for that

It has the potential to be a very beautiful place to visit once it's finished but they never should've let a ship dock there yet.

That is sad, sorry your experience there was not what it could have been. No electric = No docking ships.

  15. We cruised Alaska on Princess and was very please. Now, we were not on the Ruby so I cannot comment on that ship specifically. But they did an excellent job. I would advise checking the itinerary closely. For me Glacier Bay National Park was a must visit, not so sure NCL goes into GBNP.
