  1. You might go for $6,500 (door-to-door without air option) on Silversea 2026 World cruise 15- night segment.
  2. Yep. My initial input was regarding the topic of this thread, not wording of a Celebrity distribution email.
  3. Exactly! It was a club-like atmosphere, not too loud, not too quiet, not too formal, not too casual, just perfect to enjoy a company of co-cruisers and an outside ocean view (usually, not too dark either), and, of course, drinks also added to that indulgence feeling (as not a primary reason for such a gathering). Even writing now about it makes my mind travel and float in warm memories waters.
  4. It was already reduced/limited (a certain number of drink vouchers per a cruise) by then.
  5. No, they didn't add it; they reinstated the existing one in a reduced capacity.
  6. 2-3 nights vs previous every night (except the first night) in the designated lounge. It was a real event unlike just how it is now the "5-to-7-drink anywhere" event (ha-ha!).
  7. "What reduced?" - I was writing specifically about the "Daily Elite Cocktail Hour lounge" event (typically, in the Sky lounge, as many already mentioned). "Why wouldn't..." - it was an irony: new cruisers most likely wouldn't know what Celebrity Elite status cruisers experienced years ago; so, for them it is actually, a new benefit (of course, would be applied when they get to the Elite status or a Royal Caribbean customer with a proper matching status).
  8. "New Elite benefit" - it's so amusing! It's actually reduced previously existing one. This email was supposed to be distributed only to first time Celebrity cruisers and non-cruisers yet who subscribed to the Celebrity e-mail.
  9. and only carry-on (saving all air/luggage related troubles like not able to quickly change a flight to another available flight if you flight is canceled with a checked-in luggage)
  10. Again, accepting whatever means (in most cases) arriving on the embarkation day which means the majors are “forced” to call and pay a deviation fee.
  11. The person who you replied to stated that it would be so much appreciated by cruisers if Regent had an air option (that would not cost Regent extra) during initial booking process to select how many days in advance to arrive. Then some people would not call to deviate at all just accepting whatever their air itinerary would be. Not everyone enjoys long air searches and calls to cruise lines.
  12. Yes. However, with your idea a cruiser would have to call no matter what to select an itinerary initially what they want versus of how currently Regent just selects an itinerary on their own (saving time and resources of contacting). I think the reason why Regent had the current policy is to collect the deviation fee for any change (and the majority of those who use Regent air program will deviate to avoid the obvious reason to potentially miss their cruise). So, the only a good user’s point of a deviating for a day earlier with a fee is they can select at the same time a preferred itinerary (versus a blind one selected by Regent and revealed at the very short time prior to the cruise like in this thread’s unfortunate and unpleasant so to speak example).
  13. That’s exactly my point! - What I wrote was Regent needs to change their air program to buy air ticket so a person will arrive a day earlier of the embarkation date. I understand your unfortunate situation, and that’s why I wrote my statement. I really do not comprehend why they do not do that. If the implement such a policy, your situation would never occur.
  14. They do not have to include the hotel for everyone? What to complain about. I understand complaining if something is removed for the same price being paid, but not adding something for the same price shall not produce complaining - it’s not logical. From the other hand, for last 4-6 years it amazes me how there is so much not logical concept what people express these days around the globe (it’s out of “control”).
  15. Regent doesn’t have to pay; as I previously wrote, they need by default to book air to arrive a day prior to embarkation (money-wise, there is no difference for them versus booking to arrive on the embarkation date). Then the majority would be mad at them if missing the cruise, because it really would be out of Regent control.
  16. Really? When one makes an insurance claim, they request to submit a document from provider (a cruise- or air-line or a hotel) stated an amount (if any) that was compensated and pay the difference between the claim amount and the amount having been compensated by the provider.
  17. From few calls to Regent couple years ago regarding this topic (prior to my first booking with them to familiarize myself with their air program in details) and post # 69.
  18. I thought that Regent doesn't charge for a fare difference between an advertised air fare and deviated air. I thought they charge the $175 deviation fee ONLY.
  19. It doesn't make sense to me. If, say air is $7,000, and you take it as a credit, how cannot you afford it to buy on your own, if it's the same amount whether you buy it on your own or as a part (which you apparently could afford, since, as you stated, you are happy with it) of your total cruise fare?
  20. Beginners would expect a proper service for anything being advertised from any company. Otherwise, there is no reason to deal with a company (who don't provide such a service) at all. PS. If it's up to me (as a cruise line providing air), I would book tickets to arrive a day prior to the embarkation date and charge a deviation fee for those who "desperately" want to arrive on the embarkation day.
  21. If no one use Regent air (because it's presumably horrible), I think Regent would drop it a long time ago as their advertisement feature.
  22. You wrote "both very expensive"; so, I thought you meant a standard package to buy.
  23. A lot of times Regent has one of 3-night standard land packages included in booking ("free" so to speak) either pre- or post-cruise.
