Any recent feedback on Vision of the Seas? Just booked a 10 day for the end of March. We too, are "older" 😂 (empty-nesters) and enjoy quiet time on sea days. I have been on the Grandeur 5 times, and also love Radiance class.

We saw him on the Navigator Nov 11-18.

These are some great stories!

Thanks everyone. After 15 years of cruising, it was the first time I had noticed this. But apparently it isn't that unusual after all. 😅

Thanks everyone for sharing their stories. Guess it's not that odd after all. 😁

What are the odds of randomly seeing the same couple (complete strangers) on two different cruises? We sailed Celebrity in June - Cape Liberty, Bermuda itinerary, and then Enchantment in Sept., Baltimore to NE/Canada. On the Sept EN cruise, I recognized a couple that I had seen on a previous cruise. After a brief chat, we confirmed they were on the same Celebrity sailing. Thought it was certainly unusual. Not sure it happens very often.
Cross posting on Celebrity board as well.

I'm not currently in Florida, but I am seeing some devastating photos from friends.

Our cruise planner for our upcoming cruise shows options to reserve specialty restaurants, or MTD. Is there no such thing as early and late seating anymore, where you are seated at the same table with the same wait staff every evening? For our last two cruises, we reserved MTD for the same time every evening. But our table and section changed everyday. Some days a table for two, sometimes a shared table, and never in the same section. Every evening checking in with the hostess, we requested to be seated in the same section with the same wait staff, but were told they cannot do that. Is this the way MTD works? Is this the "new" way of MDR, or did we just have two unfortunate experiences? Based on these experiences, we want to cancel MTD for our future cruises, and go back to early seating. Is this still offered?

Double points promo (book by 9/30/21, sail by 12/31/22) = 2x
This would explain it. 😀

In what circumstances do you receive double points? Cruising Solo? A suite? Anything else?

I do. The biggest ship I have been on is the Independence. I actually prefer Radiance class. We are not young, and have adult children & grandchildren who do not cruise with us. I have no desire for amusement park type activities on cruises. But that's just our style.

On Celebrity in June, we were permitted to drop off our carry-ons in our cabin shortly after boarding (around noon) even though the rooms weren't yet ready / finished cleaning. I have never experienced this in all of my previous cruises. This was my first time with Celebrity, so not sure if that is standard policy for them. Is this a Celebrity policy only? Or is this a new policy for Royal as well? Or was this just a fluke, random experience? It was nice to go for lunch without wheeling a bag.
Any recent cruiser experiences? We are cruising on EN Sept 8.

Royal's website mentions Sorrentos as a dining option on the EN, but I can't find it on the deck plan...?
Secondly, I could have sworn the last time I was on the EN, there was a Johnny Rockets, which I don't see. Is my memory failing me, or is it no longer there, or have I just overlooked it on the deck plans?
Thanks

And that is incorrect information. You can request the same table and wait staff every evening in MTD. You have to wait to be seated only on first evening.
So weird how that quote shows I made the post. This was someone else's response to my statement that I was surprised I didn't have the same wait staff every night at MTD.
Post 22 is mine. Post 23 is a response to mine, which is what you have quoted here. Not sure how that happened. 🤔

If you have MTD, then you do not have an assigned table, and you must wait in the line. The topic above regarding walking directly to your assigned table applies to traditional dining only.
Thank you for clarification. 🙂

Interesting topic.
We sailed Serenade this past New Years and had MTD reservations for the same time every evening. This was our first time using MTD. We were NOT seated at the same table every night. As a matter of fact, one of the evenings, we were in a different section with different wait staff. Other than that one exception, we did have the same staff, but it was three different tables. I guess I thought that's how MTD worked. So yes, we waited in line every night. ( I thought we were supposed to.)
Similar experience on Celebrity in June. Three different tables, but all within the same section and wait staff.
This is not how it normally works? We are on EN in three days, and would love to walk directly to our table and avoid the line.

Yes, your table number is still on your Seapass and on the app.
Where on the app can I find this?

Royal do not keep kids off the floors. They run around you while you are dancing. There parents just sit back and let them go. It is bad when one is out there 2 or more will be there. Parents need to keep them off or real try and dance with them instead of it being a gym floor. The disco kid are not allowed.
Good point. There are definitely more kids on Royal than Celebrity.

Diamonds International gives out free trinkets. I get them and give them to young girls at church. They seem to like them.
How wonderful! This is a great idea!

This is very similar to my experience on Celebrity. No sales pitch, just show up at a certain time and collect the free item. Thanks

I haven't sailed on Freedom, but on all of my Royal cruises (20+) I have seen many couples dancing. It seems very popular in the centrum before dinner. Although I am not a dancer, we enjoy listening to the music, with a glass of wine, and watching.

I was on Celebrity (first time with them) in June and the shops were offering free pendants and charms as a promo. I've been on dozens of Royal cruises, but never paid much attention to the onboard shops. Does Royal do this also?
