  1. Diana and I had a fun cruise to Alaska.  It was basically a last minute decision because the rates were so low.  We had a nice Category G Ocean View cabin behind the life boats but nice view - got it for $539 for this seven day cruise.

Changes - happy hour was moved back to the Crow's Nest.  Good views up there but very tight seating arrangements.  It would have been very difficult for all of us to meet there.  There was another Happy Hour in the Tamarind Lounge at 5 PM but it is very small there.  Now for the bad part:  drink size for the Miami Vice and Strawberry Daquri was cut way back.  Instead of using those tall, fun glasses, they served our drinks in smaller, shorter glasses that appeared to be maybe two-thirds the size of the old drinks but at the same price.  VERY disappointing!

Entertainment on the Main Stage was lousy.  They had one comedian and one magician and the dancers.  We did not care for any of them.

Food was mediocre, not great at all.

Lots of kids on the cruise.  They took over the swimming pool area and made if very loud.  We should have waited until September.

We were lucky with the weather.  No rain but it was very cloudy so we did not see the mountains well at all.

We had an excellent high speed catamaran tour of Misty Fjord from Ketchikan.  It was excellent!  Just like Norway!

HAL raised the price of Pinnacle lunch from $10 to $15.  They raised the dinner price from $35 to $39.  Tamarind dinner costs $25 now.

HAL was NOT charging $10 for an extra entree at the Main Dining Room.  Guess they stopped that practice.  No extra charge for another entree.

There were a lot of quilters on this cruise and they took over all the card rooms on Deck 3.  People were playing cards in the Gallery Bar.

    All for now.......

Bill and Diana, enjoy your time on the Eurodam as we know you will.

Jerry and I are looking at the Eurodam sailing on September 2020, Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale. We are watching the pricing and not ready to commit yet.  Prices for this year on similar cruise are considerably lower, so we are hoping this will be reflected later on this year.  Anyone interested??

Hope everyone is having a good summer.

Love that we have our own forum, again thank you Portia!

    Sue,

Keep in touch with us.  Perhaps you can come/visit/stay with us before the cruise.

  3. We just booked another cruise on the Eurodam!   The bargains are so good on the Alaska cruises out of Seattle that we could not resist.  We booked an ocean view cabin on the August 17th 7-day Alaska cruise for only $539!!!!  How can you miss.  We may ask our neighbor to drop us off at the pier.  This will be our 7th cruise to Alaska but hey, it's all about the ship anyways!
