Did this trip last Thanksgiving week and had a suite at the stern of the ship with a wraparound balcony. You won’t regret it.

We just booked the Sun Princess on an October 2025 Barcelona to Rome cruise in one of the hump balcony cabins with a larger balcony. Very excited. It looks like there are several changes to venues. I don’t mind. I’m thinking it might be like cruising anothe cruise line 😊😊

I did the Mexican Riviera once during the spring break timeframe of March/early April depending. The beaches and ports were so crowded. It wasn’t with our spring breakers. It was Mexican families coming to the beach during their own spring breaks. I didn’t realize this might be an issue. I have never again cruised there in the spring except after the week of Easter so, typically mid-April.

Try Solomon's along the port in Cabo... very popular.
I like Solomon’s. I’ve been a few times. These weren’t on the menu the last few times I went; I asked if they could do shrimp enchiladas. They did them for me and they were fantastic

I’ve never had rough seas. I will say that the last sea day back to the port can be windy. Not always, but it has happened to us a few time no matter what month. I have done 10 cruises to Mexico.

Thanks everyone. Still deciding. Just curious if mexico is not as hot as the caribbean? That would be good.
Mexico won’t be as humid as the Caribbean. I live going to both. I live 45 minutes from the port for Mexico so that’s a draw. I also loooove Mexican food. Both have great things to offer, in my opinion.

I was not in a suite this past March on the Enchanted but called and was extended an invitation. Someone on our roll call posted the phone number from a message they received inviting them, and I figured the worst they could say was no. I was pretty surprised when she said yes. We enjoyed it immensely. And no, sorry, I no longer have the phone number.
That’s great. My grandma always said if you don’t ask, you won’t get. No harm in asking. I once went up to the counter on an American Airlines flight and asked if they had any available class seats. A husband had just given up his to sit with his wife and son in economy. I pad $100 to upgrade.

It’s been awhile since we cruised Princess. I want to find some food pics. I don’t see the search option for the threads on my phone. Can any help?

Thank you PacknGoNow. The caribe balconies on the Grand class ships are extra large. I’m sure I’m not the only one to want to relax out there with a third or fourth person. I figured somebody had done this before. I’ll just ask the steward when we meet on sail away day.
Yep ask your steward. He/she will most likely accommodate you.

Bistro Sur La Mer has gone away I believe...which ship?
Still on the Discovery I hope.

To each its own, but I always choose a cabin that has cabins above and below. No public venues. I went on a cruise with my mom many years ago below the lido deck and regretted it.

I always lock my cabin door. A cruise ship is like you are living in a small city.

Thank you for the review. I have never sailed the Caribbean Princess but would like to some day.

I love reading your threads Norris. You and Carol seem to be a couple that gets great joy from the many aspects of cruising. Plus, your pictures are always amazing!

Thank you for your review. Looks like you had a good time.

You will not want to be in your room looking out the window on GB day. There are better viewing areas if you want to stay inside. You probably know that.
Hi Coral. Thanks. We plan on being on deck. We decided on an obstructed view instead of a balcony because we plan on being on deck to enjoy the beautiful scenery. :)
-
Thanks everyone. We are booking an obstructed view room that really doesn’t have any obstruction. Our itinerary has Glacier Bay included. So excited!!
-
Thanks. I think we are going to get an obstructed view cabin instead of a balcony as the price difference is several hundred dollars different so we will use the money we save for excursions.
We are still deciding on either mid to late May or first week in June. We are looking at the Ruby Princess 7 days out of Seattle.

I have a couple of questions regarding the 7 day Inside Passage Cruise that includes Glacier Bay.
Does it matter what side of the ship you are on if you have a balcony? Just not sure if the views are better on one side or the other from a balcony cabin. How is the weather typically the first week of June?I’m assuming there are not too many kids the first week of June as some schools may not be out for the summer yet - any thoughts on how many kids to expect?
Thank you for any thoughts you might have.
Food pictures. 😊

Thank you everyone who contributed pictures. I appreciate it. I haven’t cruised since pre-pandemic so scouring the boards for new info. I have two cruises booked with friends. I’m so excited to get back to cruising!
