  1. Last week some people danced on the carpet right in front of where the band play, and a couple nights ago people were dancing on the hard flooring on the walkway just outside the bar. I'm not sure if this is the little dance floor that people have mentioned? I can't say I've noticed any other dance floor in there, unless it's the bit where the band actual sit.

You are right. When I think about it there was wood flooring extending just a little way out from where the band was. So, not really a dance floor.

  2. I have to disagree with you there. (OK, I guess I can't really disagree about the best you have personally seen but...)

The Sun class ships are much better than the Grand class when it comes to the Promenade. There is no "bump up" at the bow and the Promenade is wide enough to have full loungers and still have lots of room for walkers. Our first cruise was on Sea Princess and we were surprised when we found that not all ships had that wonderful Promenade.

My first Princess cruise was on the Sea Princess with my mom back in 1997. We loved that ship. I also love the Sapphire that has the full loungers on the Promenade. But, I loved the Regal too. We never seemed to have issues finding a nice view of the ocean when we needed it. We also had a great balcony. Loved the Atrium on the Regal.

  3. This is great news for us. We are doing our first TA in October so we will look forward to hearing them once again. We have been on quite a few cruises when Phoenix Rising has played in the Wheelhouse. From what I've been told the Wheelhouse is carpeted but some do manage to dance. I understand that most of the dancing on the Royal takes place in the Piazza.

There is a very, very tiny wood dance floor in the Wheelhouse. You are correct. Most dancing is done in the Atrium area.

  4. There is actually a very small dance floor in the Wheelhouse on the Royal. I bet they will play there. The Wheelhouse venue on the Royal ships really isn't at all like it is on the Grand Class. Much better on the Grand Class ships. But, I love Phoenix Rising so I would definitely see them even on the Royal class. Just don't expect much room to dance.

  5. We are paying more for our cruises on Princess. The economy is better and more people are cruising. That raises prices. There are still deals out there. It depends on if you want a specific category or cabin. We wanted balconies on our upcoming cruises so just decided we are ok with the prices. If things change financially we will book insides if we have to.

  6. In your situation with only one sea day it's not worth it. For a long cruise I would love C752 or C753 which are Caribe balcony cabins (with the larger 9'x9' half covered/half uncovered balcony) that face aft so you have a wake view. Some don't like the location as they say there is more vibration (and to some extent that is true) but I will never forget waking up at night to use the head and then, instead of going right back to bed, sitting out on my balcony looking at a full moon over the wake. Very hard to beat.:cool::D

I have cruised twice in an aft balcony. I agree with you. There is nothing like a view of the sky and the wake. It's magical in my opinion.
