Has anyone stayed on Deck 7 on the Celebrity Silhouette? We are looking at room options.
Is it better to be in the middle, front or back of the ship? I've only cruised x1 (on a 14 night cruise) so want to see what's the best room option.
Thanks!
I usually pick deck seven because it allows you to walk up and down the stairs to most decks. My last cabin on the silhouette was starboard forward near the elevators and it was very convenient. Motion is greater in the front.i had a full view, no obstruction and was able to get photos from my balcony when we were coming and going from ports the same as people who had gone up on deck to take them.

Quisine took over three hours last November on the Silhouette. We had 10 people eating there. It is definitely better to go with a group as there is so much food. And the more people, the more fun and the more choices you will have. I have eaten there with large groups on two different cruises so i dont know what it would be like for just two. But you certainly would not get to sample as many different choices, which is why i recommend more people.
But I think a very young child would probably not enjoy it there under any circumstances.

Hi Anne
I am doing well and am off out of this frigid cold soon on the Explorer.
I agree that it took vigilance and perseverance on this cruise to get the price reductions. I rolled the dice on a guarantee and was super happy with the result, but I did that with the mindset that I would be happy in any inside cabin.
Where are you sailing next?
I am on the celebrity reflection TA miami to Rome April 26.
Have a good cruise. its 70 here. Lol

The Brilliance TA is very popular. Last year a bunch of folks jockeyed to book balconies the moment bookings opened and the prices never really dropped for balconies and above. The insides and the OV's were not as popular and the price drops started for these cabins in the spring. At one point there was a guarantee price of $849 for an inside which ended up being under $1500 with the supplement. I was thrilled because the previous year there had been no price drops at all in any category.
This cruise worked really well for me since I live outside Boston. I flew to Paris for 2 days, took Eurostar to London, stayed at the "cruise" hotel (Doubletree London) booked on Hotwire, and took a privately organized cruise bus to Harwich. We stopped in LeHavre, Portland (Dorset), Cork, Dublin, Faroe Islands, and Iceland for 2 days.
This is not your typical bargain cruise, but it does take you a bunch of really interesting places for a reasonable price. There were lots of friendly seasoned cruisers and a lot of solos.
Hi carol
Hope you are doing well.Your post brought back memories of those cabin changes last September.:D
But, as you remember, I started out with a balcony, changed about four times to OV when the prices dropped, and then upgraded back to a balcony on one of the specials RCI had after final payment. I paid $500 to upgrade back but the price was still $1,500 less than my original balcony, which was not that faraway from my new balcony. But it took quite a bit of talking to RCI to convince them to let me do it and I was on the computer several times a day checking price drops and cabins. But you can get lucky on that cruise with perseverence.

Hello, I recently returned from the last Mediterranean cruise of the season before repositioning on board the Silhouette. I have posted photos of the trip and, as I have in the past, have also posted the Celebrity Today dailies for those of you who will be visiting the same ports in 2014. I am still adding captions and information as I write this, but there is enough info out there to post the work in process. Here's the link to my general photos page which also has links to other Celebrity cruises:http://www.proszowski.com/photo_albums/Photos.html
Cheers
Was on the same cruise. Got photos of the same cats. Lol:D
Thanks for sharing the great photos. It was a wonderful cruise except for missing Ravenna.

Oh, trust me, I said to please take the children downstairs to change the diapers as other people will be laying on the lounge chairs. I know without a doubt they didn't care as they then changed the second childs diaper. AND the kicker....it was both the Mom AND nanny I spoke with.
Nest time tell the ship you will be reporting them to the CDC for unsanitary conditions. Bet that might get their attention. I might put it in writing and cc an attorney if you know one. ;)

We are trying to decide on tour operators for a 2014 cruise. We have used Romeinlimo and loved the tours. Leisure Italy tours also gets good reviews on Trip Advisor but I haven't seen much on Cruise Critic. Does anyone have feedback on these tours? The site is: http://www.leisure-italy.com/
Thank you in advance!!
Just returned in November from a cruise where we took a day excursion with leisure Italy to pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Very HIGHLY recommend this company. Fabrizio is an excellent guide, engaging, knowledgable and very good looking:D. He even serenaded us in the bus on the way to Sorrento. He will tailor the tour to your needs and is flexible, which allowed us to do the maximum sightseeing in the time allowed. IMO he is far superior to tours I have taken with Rome in Limo.
Overall he ranks at the top of tour guides I have had during many travels to italy so i would book him again without hesitation.
Hope this helps,
Anne

thanks everyone. Keep em' coming. This is very helpful. Yes we have only done Oasis and Allure and I know that size will not compare to Celebrity so am okay with that.
Celebrity prohibits smoking inside which is a huge benefit IMO. You can go into the casino without being asphyxiated and the atmosphere inside the ship is therefore much more enjoyable. And the Martini Bar is very entertaining even if you don't like martinis.:D
Celebrity is overall a classier ship than RCL, although it is also little less lively and less children onboard.

Love the Hotel Barocco at Piazza Barberini in Rome. Cleanest and best hotel in Europe IMO. Not the cheapest, though;) but worth every cent, especially the fantastic breakfasts with delicious made to order eggs, omelets, and cappuccinos!

Strongly encourage you to do a picture review.
You can see from the responses to the various picture reviews that cruise critic forum members generally love such reviews. It is a great way to share information and to update one another with regard to the ships and the itinerary.
For me, doing picture reviews started out as hobby, just to re-live my cruise. Now, it has almost become like a must-do after my cruises, because I know that many other members here also enjoy looking at the pictures.
I don't remember finding any picture review of your upcoming Mariner itinerary on these threads. You could be the first!!
Thinking further, you could also help be a cruise ambassador for Singapore and the South East Asian region. Help entice and attract more of our foreign friends to visit Singapore and our region!!
Have you thought of doing a blog? Your reviews and photos are so great that I am sure it would be wonderful to read. And you could post links from the Cc threads.
Thanks. I will be on the LOTS next year for the TA and Fijords cruises b2b. Dd you see the new Panoramic ocean view cabins, by any chance?

In November, Allen from Romania was in the martini bar. I am not sure that is how he spells his name but he was a riot. Very interesting character as most of those guys are in there.
