The only time we have made MDR reservation was on the Epic when we had a party of 6+. We probably will this Fall since we'll be on the Breakaway with the same larger party .

We had a party of 8 .We called NCL ahead of time and made MDR reservations ahead of sailing . We've done this twice on a mega ship and once on a mid sized ship ( NCL Dawn ).

I believe the answer is yes . Ask that question on the Hawaii forum in Cruise Critic . I seem to recall just such a question and answer .
-
If it's for a 7 day there might be a mistake since we paid $405 for a 15 day cruise .

Why hide ?The cruise line makes it very easy. Gives important info and it's over in just a few minutes . Seems silly to me .

Just ask your cabin steward . He will provide one .

We usually use Hotwire for our Boston hotel and have had great success . We stayed last Nov. in the Seaport at the Aloft that . Nice place for our pre- cruise . We did not sight see . We did become brave and used Uber for the first time .Used it to go to dinner and to the pier . Easy and affordable .

I probably should have used a different word besides "old," she isn't even the oldest ship in the NCL fleet and since I haven't seen her first hand I will reserve judgement (although I haven't been on an NCL ship I didn't like.) I personally prefer the older smaller ships to the Breakaway class but I can see why people might prefer the newer ones. For us the Hawaii cruise was mostly about the destination though. We were recently looking trough our dailies from our 2007 POH cruise and remarked how little we actually did on the ship even though there was quite a lot offered. We were usually off the ship by 7 or 8 AM and would grab a rental car and go exploring. We were usually leaving all the tour stops by the time the tour buses got there! It was great to come back to the ship to eat and shower during the day, but we didn't spend much time there. We had a great night in Maui Halloween, saw the band Hot Buttered Rum at Charley's Restaurant and Saloon. We did a local luau in Kaui which I think is the only time we ate off the ship besides the Krispy Kreme in Kahului. Too many great memories to mention here but excited to be able to do it all again!
BethV114 and delaware32, we are booked on the April 20 2019 POA sailing which is the week after Easter, I have a roll call started if you are interested. 415 days to go :D
We're on the week before you . I may lurk in your roll call since there isn't one yet for our trip . Always good to share ideas .This our first time to Hawaii . Can't wait .

We're booked for next April on the POA. Can't wait . We'll go into Honolulu a couple of days early to go to Pearl Harbor and have booked a house for 10 days post cruise on Kauai . I'll be celebrating a milestone birthday.Woo Hoo

Thanks for the info.Very interesting.

You will need to wait until your next cruise to level up.

If you're still searching and are ok with not being able to cancel, try Hotwire . We've had success staying in the Waterfront area as well as Back Bay through them .Last Nov. we had great success using Uber in Boston so that might help transportation wise .

We usually stay in Cocoa Beach . Orlando is @ 45 minutes from Canaveral . Because we can use points or e-certificate we've stayed at the Marriott Courtyard . They have a shuttle but I can't remember if it's free or for a fee since we generally rent a car and take their shuttle to the pier . The Courtyard is a good hotel for a pre-cruise stay.

Depending on your cruise line , it may have an excursion that tours the city and buses you to the airport . The luggage would be stored on the bus until it transports you to the airport .
-
We were on the Dawn last Fall and when changes were made to our itinerary the website showed "default itinerary " until NCL updated . That maybe what's happening with the Eastern Caribbean cruise.
-
We also had concerns with regard to our November cruise . I wrote to Customer Relations @ Nov. 26 and heard from them today . Given the mess the hurricanes' impact on many cruises ,I wasn't surprised by the time it took . They took our concerns seriously and responded to our concerns in a positive manner . To be honest , I wasn't sure we'd get a response . We were pleased with how our concerns were handled .

You can set up a cash account and back it up with a credit card , Since doing it that way we've never had a charge on our card.
-
Element is on Hotwire . Also try Priceline and see what the cost is at Element . I didn't check Aloft to see if they had rooms to meet your needs .
-
Have you looked at Hotwire ? In November we stayed in the waterfront for$ 148(that was with tax and fees). The 3 star in that area most likely is the Aloft or Element .Both are new and nice. They are located within walking distance to the Convention Center .

For a larger group make a reservation . If you are unable to make the reservation online, give your pcc a call. Your pcc will be more than happy to help you out .

We used the NCL pre-cruise hotel package when we did our first Mediterranean trip . It was more expensive but it was hassle free . I would say price it a couple of ways (self booking vs. NCL) and if NCL fits your budget ,give it a try .

The reason we went through NCL for the first time was because of the expensive one way fares . We got our quote from the Premium department for airfare . Our PCC helped with the contact . It was up to us to accept it our not . One draw back for some is that you may not have flight number etc . until 60 days out . We knew that before going with it .
If you save your Platinum wine, will a bartender open it for you later?
