The Sanctuary is wonderful.

I was a first time Princess customer and didn't have the Elite privilege of priority boarding.

I was able to get a bed twice during a Holiday cruise because I did feel that it was worth getting up and standing on the deck at 630.

I met some great people and I was able to nap on the bed in the Sanctuary.

My idea would be that you cannot reserve a bed for the whole day. You only get it for half a day. So if you got a bed for the week you would need to chose which 1/2 of the day you wanted...

I never saw anyone staying the whole time and most people arrived around lunch...

The B2Bs and the elites would have first dibs on the afternoons and those left to the dreaded morning lines could sample the experience in the morning...

just an idea....

Since Caribbean Princess is moving to 7 day cruises to replace the Ruby in March 2015. So the 9-day Caribbean Princess option for spring break 2015 might be non-existent.

We were had our sail date changed and ship changed to the Caribbean...the 7 day cruise we were on is nonexistent now....my TA called Princess, my options for my sail dates are the Regal and Caribbean :-)

If you do a b2b guarantee do they usually give you 2 different cabins? Do you need a coffee card for each segment?

I might have to put another deposit it down ....and lose a little credit from my FCC but I am looking into it :-)

Booking it as a 9 day will count as two cruises?

It will cost us $100 pp more to do Regal and $209 pp for Caribbean than our Ruby rate

Thanks for your suggestion but I failed to mention that I am a teacher and pushing leaving on the 26th. My spring break is the week prior to Easter 2015.

We book the Ruby early and now are need to chose another ship.

We are considering the Caribbean Princess or the Regal Princess (7 day).

Caribbean is a 9 day ( a 4 and a 5 day can be booked seperate )

Caribbean Pros- We haven't been to those ports

9 days :-)

Cons- No formal Night? Since some folks will be on either a 4 or 5 day (or will it be on the 5 day leg?)

Regal Pros- New Ship

Cons- Have been to the ports

Anything else I should consider?

We got off the Ruby and it was nuts at the port.

There was a large group waiting to get to the lots. They had three shuttles there very quickly.

Their shuttles do a good job communicating with each other. They let each other know if there were unable get everyone.

We were dropped off right at our car.

We will use them again!

Princess Smoothie was very yummy!

Another note, I wondered about the double bed in the santuary. I'm assuming they charge for 2 people for that chair in the santuary? My husband wants to get the santuary for the whole week. We had an inspection last time on Princess and didn't board until 2 even though we got there at 11. So by the time we got there, it was booked except for the dailys. He tried 2x at 730am and it was all booked again. So you were lucky;)

Yes they charge for two people for a double bed.

We will be sailing on the Ruby again in 2015 and will have to check out the Pub Lunch!

On the Ruby (12.30.13) we used Amex Bluebird which is a pre-paid card with no problems. This card has my name on it and was sent from Amex.

That way my debit card was not tied up with authorizations.

There were cruise specials but we were on a full ship and a lot of the times were already book.

Loved your review. How do you go about starting the scavenger hunt? My wife and i are taking our 2 kids on the Ruby in Feb and think this will be a fun activity to start the cruise.

When we first boarded they were passing out cards that need to get stamped. It was great way to find venues around the ship.

We had gotten a paper to request how and when we wanted to get off the ship. We forgot to turn it in so when we got a 710 departure time :eek: we went to guest services and got it changed. Below is the Disembarkation Groups

We ate breakfast in the Dining Room before we went to our area to wait to be called to disembark. We were called about 30 minutes after our time to leave. We had our luggage taken off for us, so we quickly found it and were waiting for the park n go shuttle about 20 minutes later.

It was a great cruise and we enjoyed it so much that we are sailing on her again in 2015.

We are no longer "Blue" we are now "Gold"...

DH wanted the Sanctuary again (surprise) so we decided to get 1/2 day in the afternoon.

I got up and went to get in line at 0640 and I was 5th in line again. The line got even longer. (lots of disappointed people that day)

We got the same double bed which was the last bed available again.

DH eventually got up and we went to the dining room for breakfast and then down to the casino.

I asked about comp points and you need to have 1000 to get a drink comped. Decided that I wasn't going to get that many and not care....DH enjoyed the video poker but he never acquired any comp points playing.

The Captain announce the weather and stated there was a cold front coming off of Florida but it shouldn't affect us...he should have stated it wouldn't affect the ship...as we went up to the Sanctuary and almost got blown off the ship. It was comically to watch the workers try to put towels on the beds...they were just getting blown off...we sat down for 5 minutes and said forget it.... We ate lunch Horizon Court and we went back to the casino then a nap.

Dinner was in Sabatini's. Everything was wonderful there :)
