Neighbouring countries are sporting rivals all over the world!

England and Scotland are rivals. Wales and Scotland are rivals. Ireland and Wales are rivals. Not just England so don’t take it personally Zapp!

I could write an essay on the topic, but work beckons!

But surely in our united Kingdom we work for the good of all of our fellow United Kingdomers.🤣

Has anyone been successful in getting agreement for two people to have a different drinks package due to one of them being unable to drink for medical reasons.

i rang customer services today to ask if it was possible and was told I needed to submit a Drs letter and the powers that be will consider it and make a decision. I asked if the letter needed to say anything specific but he was very vague and said he couldn’t say. I spoke to our surgery and my husband will need to make an appointment with our GP to get a letter (which is easier said than done) and i am worried if the Dr doesn’t give the information they need then they might reject it.
For context, My husband was advised by his consultant not to drink about 12 years ago due to a specific medical condition and he hasn’t touched alcohol since. We were planning to get the GP to put that in a letter (and name the condition as well). Do you think that will be enough.

    thank you

Don't bother and pay as you go.

    Morning hope everyone's ok today.

With all this build up to the football even David Beckham's lad has decided he

    wants to play football .

He asked his dad "What shirt number do you think suit me on the pitch ?"

His dad could be heard saying ...  Wear four out there Romeo 🙃🤣

Have a good day -Take care !

It was the fashion to name your children after the place they were conceived. Paris Hilton, Brooklyn Beckham etc. I explained this to our son..Travelodge.

Good morning everyone - sunny here at present, but BBC weather says round here it will soon go cloudy.  A lazy afternoon for me, with two men's semis to watch with four very different  tennis players involved.  The outcome should be that it will be the same two finalists as last year, but there could easily be an upset.

I hope you all have a good day, especially anyone feeling sad or under the weather.

    Enjoy watching that.🤣

We are now laughing at our antics yesterday!

We fancied a coffee so popped into Greggs for coffee and a sausage roll.   OH then decided to drive to  a local Country Park\Quay. (I was  holding one coffee)

I joked asking him if his intentions in the Country Park  were honourable etc,  sadly they were, although I can't repeat his reply.

Suddenly there was a big speed bump and down onto my lap loads of the scolding  coffee went went.  I yelled stop, park, help.  He pointed to a bottle of water in the side panel.    Well he parked near some trees, but even so, goodness knows what anyone thought.   Me trying to get my trousers down, still in the car,  throwing a bottle of water at my legs, then squirming trying to get wet trousers up.  I think our street cred would have gone up.. two old dodderers trying to have fun🤣🤣We dream!!

Luckily I think our quick action worked.  A bit of redness but all well.  Mind you the ride home was uncomfortable, wet trousers and drawers and wet seat.

I bet that brought back memories, but I don't really know what you mean. 😉🤣

Just packed our bags for our Scottish adventure and totally at a loss what to take!  Looks like two dry days, the rest hovering between Cloudy with showers, drizzle and downpours.  Friday looks the best day and as I'm on my own that day (typical) as my husband is going across to Glasgow for a client visit I've booked myself a hire car to visit the Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies and Linlithgow which I didn't make last month from Queen Anne.  I hope Miss Google can help me get there okay or I might get very lost!

Flying out of Heathrow tomorrow - fingers crossed - BA just emailed to say the flight is now full due to people rebooking from the fiasco earlier in the week.  Couldn't even get seats together when I looked earlier in the week so we are stuck in rows 21 and 23 right near the back.  They've also asked we check our hand luggage free of charge so it sounds like it isn't going to be much fun! Our original flight changed a month back and this one is two hours later so it will fall into the interesting category.

Saturday is Edinburgh Castle Paul Weller day, forecast is damp and drizzle until 7.00pm, hopefully dry after that so fingers crossed.  I've been distracted so forgot to book anything for food but have just reserved somewhere called The White Hart for an early meal before the concert.  It claims to be the oldest pub in Edinburgh, but I've visited so many "oldest pubs" over the years I can't help but wonder!  The Scottish menu looks interesting though with plenty of Cullen skink and haggis, I just hope it is good as I'm in trouble for forgetting to organise food whilst in Edinburgh - I'm told rather sarcastically that if we can't find something tomorrow there's McDonalds on Queen Street ...

Hope everyone is on the mend, blood pressures are normalising and that England surprise us all and play like Brazil '70!  Have a great day all.

I hope you have a great holiday in that Scotland. Sitting apart on the plane is DW's objective. A couple of suggestions.  Take an English flag to wave when you watch the football and a Woking banner to celebrate Paul Weller. 🤣

Good morning from a fellow member.  My laptop is going slow, I think it I bunged up with stuff so I think if I switch it off and leave for a while it will come back up to speed.  We will see.  Normally leave it on sleep - wish I could do the same for myself!

If you clear your cookies .If may not speed up your computer, but a few extra biscuits always helps.

Been very bad at posting trip reports lately but I will upload them from Christmas and February sometime soon. I also went on royal Caribbean in May but I think I’ll have to upload that to the RCL boards.
But I have just started posting my Florida one from 2023 and I’ve got some comparison photos of the kids. Just cos I think it was Zap that asked back in April 23.

2019 vs 2023 first day. They have grown up fast. IMG_5941.thumb.jpeg.df620d51cfd9123f104784e952834262.jpeg

Beefeater menus are a lot more sparce than they used to be.The inhouse PI Thyme and bar menu is sparce and pants.

Next time we go to that Cornwall we will stay in the holiday inn express and pop across to Miller & Carter for dinner. PI's are OK, but only if there is somewhere decent to eat.

New menu is coming into force so this maybe the reason why, we are having supply issues. Some sites are closing but restaurants wise they are staying open just from different times. Our sister site does not re open till 5PM for instance. Use to be open all day.

That may be why the local harvester is busy and the beefeater not. We stayed at a Premier inn on the way to St Ives. Nice friendly ,helpful staff. The brewers fayre next door ..less so. If I owned a restaurant that served breakfast, I would send somebody to the supermarket to buy some marmalade. Customer service in the restaurants needs addressing. The Brewers fayre in Hayle was a bit slow as well. Not enough staff. Won't be repeating that experience.

Could it be that it is one of the restaurants closing in respect of Premier Inn. Getting lots of emails for different Whitbread ones that are.

Our Beafeater in Woking is shutting. No loss, perhaps some friendly staff may have led to a few more customers. Can we sit in a booth please. They are for parties of 4...but they are empty...tables for 2 are around the corner...don't worry we will go somewhere else...why ?....because we don't want to eat at a table outside the Gents. Plenty of alternatives.

I am an early bird today, bladder alarm went off at 07:00 and the sun was streaming through the windows so I didn't go back to bed.

I usually have a quick scan at the news feeds in case anything interesting happened. Nothing did. Another week nearly over, where did that go. Highlight for me was going out with Grandson, partner and my lovely Great Grandson Hugo who is now growing into quite a character.

Interesting on TV this morning Jamie Oliver at the moment and James Martin in America at 9.00. We can watch that whilst we sort out breakfast. Not much else going on, so a trip into town. Shops ,bank, lunch. We may have a look at the news later to see if anything is going on.🤔
