  1. True southern sweet tea is brewed from teabags(usually Lipton or Luzianne). It has to be strong to stand up to ice. The tea on the ship is a premade concentrate, not fresh brewed.

    After removing the tea bags, sweeten to taste using a simple syrup(buy it or make it at home).

    Some people like it really sweet, but others want it less sweet. Granulated sugar only dissolves well when the tea is warm;

    in tea that is already cold, the sugar will pool at the bottom.

    Add ice and a sprig of mint from your herb garden. Enjoy!

    Barb in Georgia-- where sweet tea rules!

    Totally Agree!

  2. We like sweet southern Iced Tea. Tea on ships is horrible. It’s way too strong. We just live with soft drinks when on a cruise. I drink hot tea in the morning. I don’t like the hot tea that they bring for room service. They use the same pot for coffee and it ruins the water. We can get some better hot water out of the water machine in the Diamond Lounge.

    I completely agree about the tea. I will check out the hot water in the Diamond Lounge :)

  3. Thanks everyone. Yes, I was looking for this January and February. I will keep looking. It is just hard for me to pay $500 more per person to cruise on the Allure for an Oceanview balcony than i did in December of 2015 and $400 more than the Freedom this past September to go to the same ports. Guess I am just too cheap :o
