  1. We are going on a Mexican cruise in Oct. from San Diego to Puerta Vallarta. Is the water in this part of the Pacific usually more rough than the Caribbean?? I know nothing is certain but I am looking for the usual scenario.

  2. I understand that people in NCL suites have a very nice cruise experience and they often eat in the speciality restaurants. I wonder if their praises would be so great if they were in a non-suite cabin eating in the MDR.

This thought is based on what I have read and heard on news shows regarding NCL's ways to create revenue.

  3. I am looking at a large inside cabin on the main deck... J1073. It meets DH's request of being near the elevator however I am wondering about noise. It is under a white space on the deck above. Does anyone know what that space is used for and the noise that might come from it?

    Thanks

  4. Has anyone ever gotten seasick while taking bonine?

I am looking at cabins on the Nieuw Amsterdam while waiting for them to open for booking. My first choice is a veranda on the navigation deck near the front elevators...but I did get seasick once. So I am wondering if bonine ever failed anyone when taken on a daily basis.

    Thanks

  5. Does anyone know the names of the lido cabanas and which one is closest to the lido restaurant and which is closest to the spa? Prior to our cruise on the Eurodam I was able to find a schematic of the cabanas names and locations. I requested one by name as we were fortunate to have that request granted. We will be going on the Nieuw Amsterdam next but I can't find the same sort of information.

    Thanks

  6. Thanks for all the good advice. I think we will continue with early fixed if possible, and at a small table. I certainly agree with the philosophy of being kind to the staff and they will be helpful back...

  7. My original question referred more to the wait times in the dining room after being seated..slow service after ordering and between courses rather than being in line to enter the dining room. Sorry that I wasn't more clear.

  8. I have read post where wait times in the various restaurants on board were discussed. I don't particularly care when my room is cleaned however waiting a long time for food makes me grumpy. Does anyone know which of the dining options for MDR dinner have the shorter wait times and smoothest service.

Obviously 5:30 open seating is not very busy but what about early fixed versus the later fixed dining?

  9. I am very familiar with Fort Lauderdale hotels...prefer the Riverside on Los Olas. Now we are looking at a cruise out of San Diego. It will be our first trip to California. I have spent the last few hours looking at San Diego hotels and am really confused.

Please give me your top two favorites within the 3 to 4 star star range. .. in the general vicinity of the cruise port and within 2 blocks of a restaurant.

    Thanks
