  1. You're correct Shippy. We're sailing in 16008 next week and the only difference between the two staterooms is the decor. The Sophia Loren Suite is very difficult to book however, and is usually the first stateroom to go. Luckily we were able to book it for our January 2015 sailing, even if it is only for 3 days.

    Have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. We were in 16008 last year and LOVED it. The three of you could easily stay as the separate living room has it's own pull-out bed (the couch) and the two rooms are separated by a closable door. Unfortunately for you, there is no separate tub/shower combo, but it was perfect for me and my DH. The balcony, IMHO, was incredible!

    This year we have 16035.:)

  3. Hi

Will we get a set time to leave the ship or can we leave when we choose. I am trying to book a shuttle to the airport and want to give them an idea of what time we will be off at.

    Thanks

    Judith

DH and I discovered that taking a taxi to our hotel cost about the same as a shuttle for 2. All we had to do was wait for about 5 min at the curb once we left the ship.

  4. I am a surgical nurse who has been on 17 cruises and have NOT been sick.. Know why? I wash my hands before and after I eat. I also make use of the many hand sanitizers that are available on the ships. If people would use some common sense and not be pigs, there wouldn't be half of the sickness that are shown on national news!

  5. I'd suggest emailing MSC, since there is never anyone available on the chat option on the website.

Closed-loop cruises in the Carribbean do not require passports. Friends cruise often with another company and no one in her family has theirs.

I never had a problem with MSC's chat option. Sometimes I had to wait a few minutes, but there was always someone there.

  6. Amo - My DH is slipping away..but the one thing I know is how much he loves to cruise. This will be our 17th cruise and I know how much he loves the ocean air. That's why I continue to take him. He is more relaxed on a ship than he is at home. I would LOVE to take him to the Med, but I don't think he could stand the flight.

  7. Per facebook:

Fort Lauderdale, FL (April 29, 2014) – MSC Cruises is strengthening its commitment to serving the North American market with the deployment of the MSC Divina to the Mediterranean during the summer of 2015. The first of the line’s ships dedicated to North American travelers, MSC Divina will bring its signature service and onboard experiences to the most sought-after Mediterranean seven-night itineraries beginning May 16 through October 3, 2015. Once the summer sailings are completed, MSC Divina will enter dry dock in Europe before returning to Miami in November 2015 to continue the popular seven-night Caribbean departures.

I also spoke with an MSC rep who confirmed this.

  9. We were 11/30 cruise in the Yacht club. It was by far the BEST cruise my DH and I have ever enjoyed (this was our 16th). Being in the YC was the best money we ever spent.

DH and I were met at the port by MSC rep and were taken ASAP to our point of entry to the ship which only took about 5 minutes.

The food was FABULOUS in the dining room as well as the Top Sail Lounge, The One Pool, and Room Service.

Our Butler was outstanding - his name was Nata - and he was with us thru the entire cruise, catering to our every whim and being there on a moment's notice. Nata offered to unpack for us, but I chose to do it on my own. However, every time we stepped out of our cabin, it appeared that they were watching (just kidding!!) because our room was spotless each time we returned.

Being all inclusive, we enjoyed many cocktails in the Top Sail Lounge, The One Pool Bar, our butler service and the mini bar in our stateroom. If something was missing, all we had to do was call Nata!

The food in Le Muse was second to none. We tried the buffet a couple of times for lunch and it was very good and provided a vast array of different selections. The pasta throughout the ship was to die for!

Being handicapped, DH was treated like gold and they made sure that he was included in everything that was provided on the ship. Our butler was acutely aware that DH was handicapped and went out of his way to make sure that he was accommodated.

We are now completely spoiled and will never again travel in anything else except the YC. Dollar for dollar, you cannot beat the price!! To get this type of service, one would have to go with a luxury cruise line.

ALL service staff were extremely unobtrusive (even those that we encountered in the "downtown" part of the ship. All were extremely polite and an asset to MSC.

We are already booked for 10/4 to the Eastern Caribbean - in the YC!
