So excited: I just got an upsell offer for Alaska 7 day from HH fully obscured OV to AA vista balcony for $350 pp! Online difference right now is $1820 pp. I am beside myself excited. Alaska is my favorite place on earth and I will be outside the whole time. Too excited, had to share.

Don't get drunk, don't go off with strangers, stay out of back alleys and don't take midnight strolls, use the same precautions you would visiting almost any other city..

 

Cozumel is reliant on TOURISM and the one thing they DO NOT want is a bad reputation.

It depends on the waiter. Yes, you could be charged the corkage fee. Although we've done it and not been charged, but that doesn't mean you won't. Best bet would be to pour a glass and carry that into the dining room.

Sailed both ships twice on Vision in the last two years thought the ship food entertainment and staff were excellent both times.

The itineraries are excellent but with the sail in and out of Kotor the Amalfi Coast and I believe you may overnight in Venice on the Vision cruise and therefore would go for that.

Also Barcelona cruise port is far easier to get to than Citivechhia.

Agree with you about being easier to get to the Barcelona port.

Breakfast has become a problem with RCI only buffets now and no Johnny Rockets other than Oasis class ship and in IMHO Johnny Rockets sucks for breakfast anyway....bad pre-packed + re-heated items only....

 

IMHO best breakfast is in the WJ......

Since my first cruise in 1998, disembarkation has always been an exercise in herding cats. They've tried several variations of colors/numbers and having passengers what in public rooms or allowing passengers to remaining their cabins. Nothing works smoothly. I have been onboard a couple of cruises when disembarkation was stopped by the local officials because passengers would not wait in the designated areas, were crowding the gangway or sitting on the stairs. It's never been an easy, smooth process. Every cruise is the same thing; every cruise disembarkation is the worst part of it. I actually start mentally preparing for the nightmare of disembarkation a couple of days before the end of the cruise.

I think you nailed it comparing it to herding cats!:D

This is the foundation of the Urikami branch of the Nagasaki Prison. It was the closest public building to the epicenter of the atomic bomb blast - which was about 100-250 yards away. AT 11:01 it was a large complex housing over 200 staff and inmates. At 11:02 this was all that was left.

 

 

This shows the prison after the bombing. All of the signs at the park were in four languages.

 

 

Those figures in the first photo sure highlights that day in Nagasaki.

I dont know if its ok to put this on here or not however, i am soooooo angry. we had a photo taken at one of the ordinary photo backdrops after dinner on the ship. the photographer then tells us they can do a photo session with us (myself, dh and our 4kids) for free. that we can make an appointment and they will go around the ship with us or on shore with us and take pics. sounds great right. well im thinking ok how much is this ....she says its free and you just pick out the ones you like if there arent any no harm done. well we did our shoot on the elegant night. we got a reminder in our room the morning of our shoot saying if we cancel it will cost us $90.00. this is not what she had told us but i had no intrest in canceling so thought went further. we did our shoot had a great time. looking so forward to seeing the pics we made our appoinment to see them. we are taken into a quiet empty bar and he returns with a book and the photos. the book is a great little book of the pics they put together and then also about 40 pages of pics. great loved them all!!! they were fantastic! then he hands us a little flyer with the pricing I about died. $499. for 10 pages. $1000. for the book and the next package was $1049. dont remember what that covered. We had no idea it come to that I figured it would be high but not that high. oh and also you had to buy a package to get any of the photos. one of our kids didnt go on the cruise so we didnt even have us all in them. I had a very hard time not buying them but im not spending over $1000 for photos. just a warning for anyone else out there that may get caught up im a moment had I been told a price before hand we would not have taken the pics at all.

Remember, this is your VACATION! Don't spend ALL your time trying to memorialize it for others! Give a broad overview...folks will ask specific questions that you can answer! I mean...it's TIME OFF...so don't make it a JOB!

I do this when I find more than one appetizer that appeals to me. I figure if I order 2 appetizers (or even 3 apps if both soup and salad look appealing, and one more tasty app selection) there is no room for an entrée, and I often skip dessert. I find the desserts usually look much better than they taste, but I do favor a nice crème brulee.
