  1. If you haven't already, be sure to check out my Conquest review (link in my signature). DH and I cruised on her in January. My review is very detailed and has tons of pics. I really liked to decor of the Monet Dining Room. Very pretty and my favorite MDR thus far. I also loved the mosaic art of a funnel on the Lido deck. The biggest bummer, of course, was no Serenity Deck. But other than that, she's a great ship!

I'm loving this thread so far! I'll be sure to check out your review and thank you for pointing it out!

  2. These are great things to hear! I always plan our port days but love to enjoy the ship as well. We always go with a positive attitude and don't look for little things to complain about. We treat the staff great and have always gotten the same in return.

Keep the great Conquest comments coming! Thanks to all who post and I'm glad to see there are others who have also been switched to this ship rather than picking it for themselves. Hopefully we can all get a little more excited hearing some good things from real people :D

  3. Loved to the Conquest! We sailed on her in March. Didn't go to the shows but really wasn't thrilled with playlist production shows we have seen on other ships. Staff in the main dining room were fantastic. Room Steward was one of the best we have had. We did go to the Steak House one night and that was awesome. Really can't comment on the CD to the point I could not even tell you his name. The décor reminded us of the Liberty. We had a great week on a beautiful ship.

That's great to hear! We enjoyed the Liberty. I hope to hear good things about food, staff, casino, adult pool area mostly. We tend to not make it to shows and have a Lido balcony just inside the doors port side, which is our favorite location.

  4. We were switched from the Freedom next year to the Conquest. We know there is no Serenity, Cucina, Bonsai, which we love, but I'm looking to hear what you've loved about the Conquest. I know Freedom wouldn't have all of those things either and reviews are all over (as they have been for all of the ships we've sailed) but just looking for some positive feedback on this post.

  5. We just finished our 6th Carnival cruise on the Sunshine recently and booked on board for the Freedom 4/4/15 8 night to St Maarten, St Kitts, San Juan and Grand Turk. We booked for the itinerary since we want at least one new port (St Kitts) and the other ports we truly enjoyed. Since we have to fly we've done all different itineraries (16 ports in 6 cruises, repeating very few). We have been changed to the Conquest but are still very excited for this next cruise. :D

  6. I got the letter this morning changing my 4/4/15 Freedom cruise to the Conquest. I haven't been on either of these ships yet so I'm not sure yet whether this is good or bad. I don't know if Conquest has the 2.0 upgrades that we want, what our room will be (we had 3rd port side Lido balcony booked), whether we'll keep our OBC for booking on board, whether the itinerary will be the same. Let the research begin! Oh boy

  7. We've done it twice now and never set out to "get our monies worth". Both times going on a midline average, we have saved over $500 versus if we were paying by the drink. We probably did drink more than without it, but we like the all inclusive feeling and not feeling like we have to be checking the account every day to see what "damage" we did yesterday. Our drinks are typically 8.75 - 9.95 with just a few being a bit lower than that.

  8. We did 8:15pm dining on our first cruise as we were with friends and that is their preference. We felt like we were falling asleep or ready to go to our cabin right after dinner after eating so late.

We tried YTD on the Breeze last year and waited in a long line every night, no matter what time we went. Then when we got our table for "2", it was really part of a section of tables very close together and had to wait for everyone in the section to finish each coarse before our next one would come. Each night dinner was nearly a 2 hour process.

We really enjoy 6pm dining and have had a table with others, tables for just us and a wonderful booth for 2 on our recent Sunshine cruise. Our team had us in and out in just under an hour every night (but we didn't have dessert).

  9. Just found your review...love that OV view. My DH needs a balcony, but sometimes I'd like to save a little money. Can you walk out in front of that room? The railing didn't look too secure so wasn't sure.

Thanks for taking the time to write and post pictures.

We loved the room too, the view was fantastic! You couldn't walk out front. There was a platform that I believe maintenance could use if they had to but it didn't have a solid floor.

  10. Thanks for the review! We're in 9122 on our cruise in July so I loved seeing the pics of the room. Can I ask how much the portraits from elegant night cost? They look so professional! I'm thinking of getting a family pic one night but am afraid of how much it would be! Was there a sitting fee too?

The 8x10 pictures were around $23 I think and the small ones about $14. There are no sitting fees and they have different backgrounds all over! We could have spent a fortune on great pictures as they do such a nice job. We took a special on one with the canvas and so for 59.95 got a 16x20 canvas, the 8x10 of that photo and also 4 small photos of that same picture.

Our room was really great and if we didn't love balconies we'd do it again in a heartbeat :D

  11. thanx - any idea of the hours the sushi is available?

wanted to mention I loved the shot of the pedicure by the waterfall area...what deck? we have 4 sea days, hope to snag that view at least one day but not sure I'll make 6:30 am. what time did the area start to fill up?

I was lucky to pick up FTTF. So nice not to have to lug our carryon until room is ready. Do you know what time you received your luggage?

Forgot about sushi! It was 12 to 2:30 for lunch and then 5 to midnight!!!!

Thanks! I had the same design on my ring fingers and French on the rest the same. I loved it. I believe deck 11 is the one with the pool. I think after 7 those spots are probably gone. I went in my robe so if I wanted to sleep I could, lol.

We love FTTF!!! I'm watching for it (there are no excursions showing yet) for our next cruise. Our luggage was there when we checked back around 2 but we were gone for a while. We were all unpacked long before muster. It was great. :D

  13. I just don't like "interrupting" people while they are posting. Thanks for all the pics, we are going on our first cruise in October on Fantasy and can't wait. I am trying to "get to know" the ships so I know which ones we wanna be on. I think Sunshine is on the top of that list. :)

Also, you mentioned in the title of the thread, Cheers. How did that work for you? We will be trying it on ours, very excited.

Thanks! We did Cheers last year and know that by the drinks that we like that it works for us. It did again by far! We love mojitos by the pool (8.75) and many drinks from Alchemy (9.95 with upgrade liquor). We still haven't counted our drinks on our statement but never had fewer than 6 a day and 3 times had our 15. It was just so nice to have that paid up front and we also tipped an extra dollar or so every few drinks or so as I think with the deal we were getting there should have been more gratuity.

  14. Thanks for the TR! can't wait for our turn.

you and the hubby seem to be happy & relaxed in all the pictures = a good cruise imo:D

that is an interesting view via the windows in your cabin. I thought those in the front of the ship had a 'secret deck' in the front:confused:, doesn't look like yours did. I need to look into booking one of those cabins. Did you feel much in way of turbulence?

Okay, spill the beans...where exactly is bonsai? must have sushi fix lol

how'd u score the strawberries from JH?

Thank you for the questions! There was no secret deck that we could find. The movement was almost none, even all the way forward.

Bonsai is on 4! Just aft of the casino on 5, toward Limelight. It is so worth the visit!
