  1. Us too!!!!! You may have already posted on the rollcall, but I'm not really keeping up with it very well this year.

    Can't wait until next Sunday!!!!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Yes, we're on the roll call! A week from right now we should be landing in New Orleans! 5 work days left and then we're out of here! Spending a night in Milwaukee at our favorite park and fly hotel. Off of work starting Thursday so can leisurely get down there (there is a snowstorm forecast for that day right now).

Once we're parked we can just relax and wait for our Flight Friday. Can't wait!!!

  2. We take one 7-8 day cruise each spring but our 25th anniversary is late September this year. We are booked at a Secrets all inclusive for a week for that. We love cruising but really wanted this milestone anniversary to stand out in our memories down the road and not try to remember which cruise we were on :D

    Happy Anniversary whatever you choose!!!

  3. I would call this offer a downgrade as oppose to an upsell. As others stated, the spa pass doesn't cost $300.00, and you get to keep your large 320 sq.ft. cabin with unparalled views. For that type of uncharge I would expect at least an OS or possibly even a GS.

I can't wait! They would have had to offer us a suite for free and then I'd still have to think about it

  4. This is our 6th cruise and we've never gotten a call or email until an hour ago. We are in a 6K scenic ocean view (only 4 on the ship) on the Sunshine on 3/30. I booked about a year in advance and many dates didn't have one of these rooms available.

I only checked on the offer to see what it was since it would have to be something awesome for me to give up this room.

We were offered to upgrade to a Spa balcony for $300 total, for the two of us. We don't use the spa but if we did that would be a great deal for us. If we weren't in such a special type of room this time we might consider it.

I said no, and confirmed that my booking remained untouched.

I've been mock booking our sailing and every category seems to have rooms available.

  5. We usually spend at least $1000 on board between drinks, pics, gambling, jewelry, dining. Our excursions are booked and paid for ahead of time. For our cruise coming up in 2 weeks, we have $950 in cruise cash applied and will be buying Cheers. We also have a $700 Carnival gift card as we are planning on booking an 8 night sailing while on the ship. This should leave us with about 350 left and gratuities will come out of that.

We plan on eating at JiJi's and Bonsai for dinner at least one night. We always buy a few pictures. We'll probably be adding a bit more money. This would be more than plenty if $600 wasn't being spent on a deposit :-)

So in summary, I'm expecting to spend at least $1700 on the Sunshine in 2 weeks! :D

  6. We like either Mojitos on Lido (8.75 last year on the Breeze) and many of the special 9.95 drinks from Alchemy. It barely takes 5-6 at these prices to make the package more than worth it for us.

I agree that our bodies hated us after about day 6 of our 8 night sailing and that day we only had 2 each. Even with that day, and never reaching our limit on the program any other day, we still saved a lot of money. We probably had more than we would have without it but it made it so nice to feel all inclusive and not worry when we wanted to try different things.

We are doing it again in just over 2 weeks and look forward to no surprise bar bill at the end.

Yikes, I see we leave 2 weeks from today. Better get packing!

  8. LOL, I am sure you will like the room. My husband loved the location as it was on the Lido deck. Walked out of the room and down the hall and you were at the lido pool and bars! Very easy to find you way back home late at night!! To get to other outside areas you either had to go up or down.

Thanks! We normally have a Lido balcony so know that we love the location. Can't wait to have the captain's view! It was substantially less money than a balcony and a new experience.

  9. We had one in January on Sunshine. LOVED the view! The pictures do not do the room justice. However, for me, it was a little rocky. Others may like the motion but I did not. There was also a mild constant vibration within the room but that may just be Sunshine. Overall I did like the room and the view was fantastic, I just would not pick it again. But glad I tried it.

My husband will be glad to hear about the rocking, lol, he really likes the motion. It will be an adventure for us for sure! Do you have pictures of your room? Which one were you in? Was there access to an outside deck near you?

    Thanks!!!:D

  10. Just came across a few posts and pics of the "new" scenic OV cabins, which I had never heard of. They look amazing!! The pics I saw first were one of the two corner cabins (9200 and 9201), so I was kind of spoiled. Of course they are not available on a couple of sailings I am looking at in Feb. 2015.:( However, the others are. Has anyone stayed in any of those 230 sq. ft. scenic OV cabins? Assume they are worth it? Seem cooler than a balcony with the front of the ship view. What about motion though? Wondering if you would feel the ship pitching being right in front of the ship, as opposed to mid-ship where we usually stay. Would love any advice/input. Thanks!

P.S. On our last CCL cruise, we tried the cove balcony after reading many great reviews and absolutely loved it. This time we're looking at the Conquest though, so these cabins sound great . . .

I saw these rooms over a year ago when we decided we wanted to try the Sunshine. They were already all booked for much of March and April. I did get 9109 for us for March 30th so soon we'll get to see how they are!:D
