We had 9109 on the Sunshine and loved it. There was no noise. Views at night with the blind open after lights were out were wonderful. Our view during the day was like we were driving the ship.
-
Wow....had to chuckle at that (don't be offended)... Sounds like he survived and you enjoyed your cruise!! It is pretty sad you pay so much for the Havana cabins and the chairs on regular balconys are better...LOL
We chuckle too! Security walked back to our cabin with us after we were done at the infirmary and stopped to get a picture with the pirate in the atrium. One of my favorite photos and turns out to be a good story.
We are in the Havana again next year but in a Vista wrap on deck 6. Better chairs and no swing! ;p
-
Ah, the swing chair. Whatever you do, don't let the kid in you come out and twist it up like we did on the school playground. Ours unthreaded from the ceiling and came down with hubby in it and the bar at the top cutting the top of his head open. Our Vista memories begin spending sail away in the infirmary getting stitches, lmao. :')
I agree the other chairs are useless. They are so low that I had a hard time getting up from them so didn't really sit on them very much.

We had 3 in a row with friends last year. There was nearly no foot traffic past our cabanas. We would sit out there together in the mornings with coffee.
The pool area was wonderful. We could always get a lounger or a spot in a hot tub or pool. We met some fun people and that made it feel like more of a private party when we were back there.
Doing it again on the Horizon but trying a Havana Vista balcony wrap this time.
-
Yes they do. Several of us arranged at the Spa on board and were taken from the Oasis to the massage huts at our arranged time. The massages were great. I don't remember how much they cost but we were fine with it.
-
You would need to ask for them 5 minutes apart. They do not count toward the 15. Only alcoholic beverages do.
-
We've been on both. Conquest was our least favorite cruise, and Sunshine was our favorite and will be doing a 13 night B2B on her next month. Best food venues and Serenity is fantastic. We're never in a hurry so if there are lines or crowds we must just miss them. Conquest was our first cruise where we felt the staff wasn't as friendly and some seemed downright disinterested in our needs.
Have a great time whatever you choose.

We have done both and hope to do the west coast again. Cabo and Puerto Vallerta were both very fun and beautiful. The Sea of Cortez has an emerald green color. The Pacific is darker water so the brilliant blues of the Caribbean are missed. The trip back north was rocky due to winds. We don't mind that though. I definitely recommend trying it if interested.

We had a Havana cabana on the Vista last year. We LOVED it! We have a Vista Havana corner balcony on the Horizon next year. It's like a different ship having that area.

Thanks for the info!
I've had the Chef's Table once before, but many in our group have never done it.
I suppose I should make the reservations for everyone to be sure we all get the same time slot.
If anyone changes their minds, I THINK you can cancel once on board, right?
You're welcome! Yes you can. If you don't cancel and don't show up they will charge 50 per person to the sign and sail account.
-
Chef's Table is done at least once and even twice or 3 times if enough interest. Invitation is brought to the cabin the day before and they call your cabin phone to confirm.
We've done it twice and it was different nights each time. It wasn't on an elegant night either time for us.
We are confirmed for our 3/24 Sunshine cruise. You can make the request through your cruise manager and receive an email within a few days.
Enjoy!

Do you tip the staff afterwards?
We all chipped in for a nice tip at the end.

I know....BUT, there is a way around it! I googled "how to fix photobucket 3rd party hosting" There is a youtube video that walks you through it... go to 'tools', then 'more tools', then 'extensions', then 'get more extensions', then 'fix photobucket hotlink fix', then click 'add to chrome' and it worked! I was able to see all of the menus! as long as you do it in the chrome search engine.
Thanks so much! This worked for me too :D

Are they scanning our S&S cards at Muster entrances now? They do on the Vista and I think it made it go much faster knowing all were in attendance.
-
I was thinking of booking this too but also wondered about the time duration of it. The excursion listing states it’s 5 hours but we will be in the port from 9-4.... so do they not allow u to arrive until after a certain time, or what?

We did the Oasis in 2016 and the slide was not fixed. We had a wonderful day and hope to be part of a group who has it again. The crew must get there first and set everything up so guests can't go right away. We were on either the last or 2nd to last tender back at the end of the day.
-
Our Vista cruise could have used many more people in the Havana area. Even though the ship was sold out there were hardly ever any people back there. At times that was nice, but having others to have fun with is nice too.
-
We have an 8 night cruise coming up. Day 8 is 75 days for us. I see platinum and priority on our boarding passes.
-
The Havana area on Vista has tan towels with "Havana Experience" on the end. We wanted two of them and they were not in the shops onboard or online. They might be now, I'm not sure. Our room steward was able to get us new towels in plastic to purchase.
-
We haven't been on the Magic, but have been on the Sunshine and the Breeze. We enjoyed both. For some reason we really like Sunshine better and will be back on her soon for our platinum and first B2B.
I'd go for the 8 day just to get more out of my travel dollars since I fly.
Good luck!

:D We did a B2B on the Sunshine on our Thanksgiving cruise. It was sort of last minute so we had to change cabins. The ship's crew made it easy and fun. There was about 10 of us and we were told where to meet. One of the Fun Squad took us off the ship to the Customs officer and he looked at our Pass Ports and we went back on the ship. They gave us our new S&S cards. There were Mimosas waiting for us, they took a picture us us all and we each got a copy along with a ship on a stick and a bottle of champagne which was left in our room later that day. It was all such fun and easy and I will do it again when I can.
Thanks so much! I'm getting very excited. My husband doesn't know it's a B2B yet and my sister and I are planning to tell him at breakfast on the last morning of the first cruise.
Did you have to do muster again? I expect to, but have read that some were told to stay in their cabin.
-
Not sure what variances you found, but I expect all said something about getting a letter in your cabin with details of what you need to do and when. Since you have the same cabin for both legs, you do not have to pack anything or do anything special. Your cabin steward will know you are B2B. Don’t worry, they will provide everything you need to make the turnaround simple and painless. Have a great cruise!

Thanks much! I guess I could have been more specific.
Where do you meet? Guest services, dining room, showroom? Do you exit the ship and come right back on or not exit at all. Did you have to do muster for 2nd leg? These things are all mentioned differently across cruise lines and ships.
Thanks again :)
-
I've been reading B2B threads this morning and the process seems to vary. I didn't see anything specific to the Sunshine.
What was the process on the Sunshine?
We have the same cabin for both legs.
How many people are commonly in the group doing the turnaround?
Thanks!

We sailed from Baltimore on 4/15/16 and we had 2 days at the front and back of our cruise where it was too cold to be outside. My hubby wants hot weather as we're escaping Wisconsin winter so I'm not allowed to book from Baltimore again :D

I've been impatiently waiting for the OP to come back! We are doing the same cruise in 4 weeks and was hoping for some more review. Come back! Lol :p
