  1. I sailed on the Dream in Feb of 2010 and Michael Winslow was on board (think Police Academy noises). I got to be in the Legends show with him. It was cool to hang out a bit for rehearsal with him. He was James Brown and I was Aretha. He was a riot.

  2. We're going out for breakfast this morning and this thread is making me so hungry!

We have so many favorites that it's hard to pick the best. Our standout meals have been dinner at Cucina, Bonsai, Chef's Table and the Steakhouse. In the MDR, we look forward to pumpkin soup, escargot, caesar salad.

I don't care for the frog legs.

Can't wait to have these as well as some new venues on the Vista :)

  3. We will be with a group of friends and have 3 Havana cabanas in a row. My sister will be sailing solo in an interior not in the Havana area. I hope she can at least sit on our patio with us. We wouldn't expect her to be able to use the other amenities. I'll be interested in the experiences of others in this situation.

  4. May sound expensive and agree they are. But Compared to £19.95 + vat on P&O in Jan it's cheap. Bought one as it's turned out to be the last picture I had taken with my best friend who passed away 5 weeks ago.:(

$19.99 for a formal photo is normal across the board for Carnival group ships.

Sorry to hear about your friend :(

Your photo is truly priceless I'm sure.

I always buy a few and don't feel the price is bad to have a nice photo of that time and place to keep at home.

  5. Since it fills up fast, how far in advance can we do it? When we did it on the Conquest I emailed about a month before our cruise. I have a feeling that if I wait that long to email for the Vista that we won't get a spot.

What's the farthest out anyone has emailed to reserve the Chef's Table?

  6. The camera must have stayed on board at Grand Turk, but we just shopped and hung out at Margaritaville for a while and got back on the ship.

I will try to figure out how to get the FunTimes scanned in and uploaded to Photobucket soon. I have photos being shared and added to multiple albums by the rest of my party so if I come across more good ones I'll post them.

I forgot to mention that we had FTTF and our rooms were ready when we boarded. We had the Oasis at Half Moon Cay so didn't need to use it there. There seemed to never be any line at GS so we just used the normal line the few times we needed to visit. We used it at debarkation and it was very nice to wait in the Captain's Lounge and be escorted past many people waiting for zones to be called. They never announced FTTF, they just came to the room and had us come with them. We had nearly no line at customs and were out and on our way to our hotel by 10.

We all used the Hub app and it was great to be able to chat with our group on board and communicate where we were and if anyone needed something they could ask and whoever was nearest a cabin could grab it. Very handy.

All in all, besides the bumpy ride, it was a really great cruise.

  7. I loved this area on the Legend and thought it is really pretty on the Pride too

We went to Breeze's in Nassau. It was pretty and we had a nice time despite the spring breakers with their blow up dolls

At Half Moon Cay we had the Grand Oasis. This was really great. The slide into the water was broken though so we didn't get to try that. A few of us had massages on the island and really enjoyed our day in paradise.

  8. The dining room was really pretty

Bonsai Sushi is located right in the lobby. We had to walk past every time we went to our room. I think we took some back with us at least 4 nights. Very good food worth the small charge.

We have never decorated our door before but we did this time. We didn't win the competition but my sister's door coming up got honorable mention and a ship on a stick!

This was my sister's door. She put a lot of work into little flip boards with pictures and information about special places that she enjoys with friends and family

  9. looking forward to your pics! I have done Breezes twice in Nassau. Thinking of doing it again in Sept. But it has been awhile since I did this so I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me.

How much is it now for a day pass? Is that what you did or did you get a room? Also, if it was a day pass, I have been told that you may get there and they may be gone.. what time did you get there? What transportation did you use.. i used the number 10 jitney twice... but thinking a cab may be better? Do you know how much cabs are? And is it easy to get transportation back to the ship? How was the beach??Rocks... seaweed?

I know i know... sorry for all the questions:DI am taking my 25 year old granddaughter with me and want to make this trip very special... it is her second cruise.. the first was with her mom, sister, and me when she was ten years old and her sister was nine:p

So basically anything you can tell me about your day there and to and from would be awesome!:D:D:D

    thanks!:)

Hahaha, no worries! We got to the end of the pier and indicated we wanted a ride to Breezes. We (4 of us) were quickly directed to a van and off we went. They charged 22 dollars I think.

We had reserved our passes through resortforaday dot com. We paid 20 down and then 65 when we arrived. We got there around 11. They gave us wristbands and told us that we were welcome to use any of the facilities and participate in any activities that were going on.

The beach was pretty full of seaweed and they had workers down there the entire time raking and burying it. It looked like an endless task. Hubby and DD did swim though and had a great time. I wasn't feeling really well that day so didn't go in the water and spent most of my time in the shade. The pools to me appeared pretty full of debris, but there are many plants/trees around the pools so likely inevitable for there to be some in there.

They have a grill by the pool with a pretty large selection of foods like hot dogs, burgers, jerk chicken, conch fritters, salads etc. I took a plate of jerk chicken and asked hubby to watch it while I ran to the rest room. He turned his back for 5 seconds and about 10 gulls swooped on it and cleaned the plate, lol. The one bite I had was very good but very spicy so I went back and got something else. At 12:30 they opened a very large buffet inside in the beautiful dining room.

I hope you have a great time!

  10. I am sailing on the Pride for the first time in September. I'd read that the vibrations are bad at the aft of the ship so I booked mid ship.

Not sure if we would have slept better mid ship on this cruise, since even at the casino bar we had to hold onto the bar as we were rolling so much :-)

The one thing I know is that we didn't sleep as well as we did on previous cruises due to the motion/vibration.

  11. We were on the Pride 8 night to Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk. It was the bumpiest ride out of our 8 cruises but we had a great time!

I will get to uploading some photos, and I did manage to get all of the Funtimes home so will upload those at some point as well.

We had an aft balcony, 4230, and were connected to the Vista suite 4228 next door. These were beautiful accommodations! There was quite a bit of vibration and we put a hand towel in the bathroom door at night to reduce room rattling. Our seas were pretty rocky the first couple of days and some in our group were sick. There were bags by the elevators and the dining room was pretty empty for breakfast our first morning. Glasses slid across our table and our daughter had to leave and she was sick most of that day. It was her 25th birthday so we had several birthday re-dos over the week.

Me and DH are both 46, and this was my sister's first cruise. She and a friend came along as well as another great friend who we met on a cruise in 2012, and she had graciously invited our daughter to share the Vista suite.

Other than the bumpy ride, we found the ship clean and beautiful. We really enjoyed the staff in all areas. Our room steward was Randy, and he was especially outstanding. He serviced our rooms twice a day and I found the new card on day 3, lol, so never chose morning or evening service. I asked for ice once and then it was there every day.

We had Cheers and it was great. We had coffee, vitamin water, milkshakes, beverages to our hearts content. We never reached the limit but I know we were close on a couple of sea days. I love the all inclusive feeling.

Food was excellent in the MDR every night that we were there. We ate in the Steakhouse one night and the food and service were great there as well. My daughter and friend did the Chef's Table one night as a birthday surprise and my daughter is still raving at that experience. We did that menu last year so are looking forward to it again once it changes.

I had to visit the medical center on the last day as I had symptoms of a bladder infection/UTI and they gave me some medication to get me home and didn't charge me anything. They were great. This is the first time I've had to go to A deck and it was a little scary but turned out to be a great experience.

We had the Oasis at Half Moon Cay and OMG, that was AMAZING!!! I feel so lucky that we were able to get that. The personal chefs and bar and all staff there were so attentive and caring. We also had massages on the island and they were excellent.

Nassau we went to the Breezes resort and it was nice but very overrun by spring breaking youngsters.

Grand Turk was nice, we had a Cabana but decided after just a few hours to enjoy the free food/drinks on the ship rather than pay high prices for the same on the island. We have been here several times so that wasn't a hard choice to make.

I will work on some pictures as soon as I can but am happy to answer any questions. We had a great cruise but can't wait to go out of Miami on the Vista in April in a Havana Cabana cabin.

  12. Our group of 6 just used this on the Pride 8 night sailing. We thought it was a great value and most times we would reply to one group message rather than individually.

I also took the social media package for 25 for the whole cruise. This was nice to be able to use messenger with some family members back home.

It did seem to lock up and we were told by GS that if that happens to go to the internet browser to http://www.logout.com and we would then be prompted to sign in again and then it would work. We ended up doing this on all devices about daily.
