thought I'd pass this on.....
We attempted to acquire trip insurance from a well known and reputable company only to be told that because Israeli ports are on the itinerary we cannot be insured. This is for a 2025 cruise.

June 2024 will be the 80th Anniversary of DDay.
Perhaps there might be difficulties finding guides for ships' passengers.
-
Excellent source told me that Vista will be the ATW26 ship.

we often diy walking tours and use gpsmycity.com to plan our walks. On the upper right find "all cities" and then click on the appropriate continent.
You will be rewarded by an alphabetical list of countries with the cities offered. When you click on the city you want you will often see more than one walking tour. One might be an Introductory tour, another may be architectural gems, etc. Also read the articles since the author sometimes writes about bars, cafes, restaurants, and cool little shops.
You will find with each tour an accompanying map that you can download but since I worry that the phone will not function, we also print out the map! Each map location then has further info. I print it all!
Here is an example using Gothenburg.....

Good luck! (there are many others I use as well, but this is a good start) Have fun!

Hi Bob!
I think we're on Insignia. Wish we were sailing with y'all.
Enjoy your remaining time on Insignia ATW23!

One of my favorite things to do onboard is to finish trivia in the Lounge and meet Mr Wonderful in Horizons for Happy Hour.
We often see the glories of sail away, discuss our day, and I quiz him on the day's trivia.
He has a soda and I have a glass of wine. That's it.
Sometimes staff people join us in Horizons and we pick up their tab.
So... I'm guessing we will still run a bar tab for me and guests when Simply More begins?
Unfortunately I see no benefit to this new plan for us.

Francie,
I should have mentioned that on ATW16 we lost our beloved Don Horner (Hondorner for those of you who know) CD Andy Heath had a wonderful memorial service for him onboard.
We may cruise Christmas '23 and for sure we're sailing the summer 2024 and hope to be gone over 2 months. We're eagerly waiting for the July-Dec 2025 to be published.

Hi Francie!
You're right.....sitting on the verandah with your sweetie watching the sea is about as close to a perfect time as you can have. I know you miss him so much.
Passengers, staff, and crew from ATW16 remain in touch with each other through the social media that must not be named. We cheer news of a new baby, a graduation, a wedding, and send love during the bad times. When we meet onboard again it's simply the best.
I'm delighted that you are going to sail again! Big hugs to you

Our favorite memory on Oceania was every day on ATW16.

Hi! We took 4 Overlands and Began on ATW16 and had 2 completed with 3 more scheduled for ATW20 before it was cancelled. Lots of pages used
-
If you go on any ATW Overlands you will need even more blank pages.
At end of overland description on O ATW website is info on visas and number of "clean" pages required in passport.
-
Paul and Don Horner were my two go-to guys on this forum. I am heartbroken to hear that Paul is gone. I hope that somehow his family hears how much he meant to so many of us. I am truly devastated by this news. Thanks to CintiPam for telling us.

Jancruz--the situation has resolved itself
i have posted this on ATW24 main page and in our roll call....it bears repeating.
"well....well .... well.
10 minutes ago our TA was on the phone giving an O rep our credit card # for the deposit for ATW24- 180 days.
He asked the agent he was speaking with why we could not have the 196 cruise. The agent said 'let me go ask' and got an immediate reply...'of course you can sell them the 196 with their cabin # they have reserved for 180.'
our TA was momentarily speechless because that was not what he was originally told.
Moral of this story: as always, call O. Seriously, if you do not like that answer you've been given, call again, or ask to speak to a supervisor. This has happened to us over and over .....sigh
kudos to our TA for asking!"

you are the best.
I'm a holdover from the days of Hondorner, StanandJim, and you. I appreciate your help so much.
Thank you.

Jancruz-
I've followed you through the years on CCritic and have always valued your knowledge and advice. (You and i were at a special dinner at Capt Flokos' retirement cruise)
we sailed ATW16, attempted to ATW20, 2021, and 2022 and have reservations for 2023 and today made our down payment for ATW24.
Here's my question-- why can we only seem to make reservations for LA-NY (180 days) and not the Miami-NY (196 days)? We have checked and our reserved cabin is currently not for sale Miami-LA so why can't WE have it for 196 days? Our TA is also confused.
Is Miami-LA to be a segment and why would Oceania do that and not sell it as a 196? (we are high on the wait list for 196 )
My husband suspects that "this is not an Oceania policy decision but is an artifact of assumptions loaded into the IT systems." (yes he is a total geek)I can't be the only one that wants to leave from Miami!! Thank you for any help you can give us.

If people who are currently on an ATW roll call want/ need info from previous ATW cruisers we, who have been on one or more ATWs but are not on the roll call, are not permitted to answer based on cruisecritic rules?
Ok....

OP can watch marine traffic.com or other websites to locate Insignia if that's all the info he wants.

After you have read these boards for a while, you learn who is acerbic and you just ignore them.
Welcome to Oceania cruises! The food is wonderful, the staff/crew is amazing, and most of the passengers are lovely people and easy to sail with. Safe travels

FWIW....
trip insurance can be confusing and your situation may be different than someone else's.
we have used https://tripinsurancestore.com/ (ask for Steve) as it is a broker of several different insurance companies.
Steve is a frequent guest here on CruiseCritic and also has a well received blog plus the WSJ recommends him.
take a look at the website. Steve can answer most, if not all your questions, and can put a package together for you after you've talked
we highly recommend him....and he will patiently walk you through what you need to know in order to make a well informed decision. Good Luck

check Terraces port entrance when it opens for breakfast/lunch.
On the R ships, pre-covid, a staff member would be standing at a podium to check availability of the specialty restaurants for that night and could often find openings for dinner that night.
