  1. Another relaxing day at sea!

Slept until 9 and then I had breakfast at Cafe Promenade. They have a very good choice and it's less hectic than the Windjammer.

At 10 we had round 5 of master sea chef. There's only 2 chefs left and on the last sea day they will be cooking hot food.

We had our Meet and Mingle lunch at 11.45 and it was really good and lots of fun. I think there were about 200+ of us and the Beef Wellington I had was lovely. I have pictures on my phone, but it won't let me on tapatalk.

We played some Mexican Train and then I headed up to the pool, in the sun. Not a lot of wind anymore and it was so nice in the sun.

A lot of work has been going on around the ship, they seem to be working on the H2O zone. Saw Captain Espen checking on the progress. He is by far the most present Captain I have had on a cruise. I run into him somewhere every day.

Tonight is Quest, so I may be attending that for the first time.

  2. Thank you so much for taking us along! I would love to do a TA one day! Do you find it hard to "lose" the time over the sailing or does the length of the sail and the relaxing on board counter it?

LOVE that that you can get Netflix from "somewhere" in the Atlantic! Thanks again!

I feel like the days are not long enough. You don't really feel that you're losing an hour a day. But maybe that can explain some of my tiredness.

Yes, Netflix has been working so far. I love VOOM's surf and stream

Thanks for your feedback on this. We set sail on my OH's birthday so I've booked this tour as his birthday gift! As an engineer I think he'll love it!

He will certainly love the engine control room.

  3. I don't know how I have missed your review, but I just had a nice power read. I'm loving it. It is unfortunate that your mom isn't with you but it looks like you are having great fun. A few of the beverages behind you should help you sleep better tonight.

I looking forward to reading more of it.

Glad to have you following along, Andrew! One drop of the beverages behind me will put me to sleep, since I don't like alcohol. Don't like beer either, and that from someone coming from Belgium! Thanks for reading

  4. Thanks for the review - you're doing a great job!

    Thank you for reading.

My husband also uses sea bands and ginger gum. I on the other hand do not get sea sick. We are on deck 12. Happy sailing. Freedom is a great ship and its crew is amazing and so is the food. ;)

I agree 100% with the you. Amazing crew and great food. I bet the guy who said at the Captain's corner that the food, was awful has been eating somewhere else [emoji12]

    Thank you!

LOL. Somewhere out in the Altantic, hmmm. Not quite sure if I'm ready for a transatlantic yet. Thanks!

    Laurie

You are ready for one. This is the best cruise ever.

    thanks for following

Love reading this! We are doing the transatlantic in October on Freedom and this is making me so jealous!!!

I have a favor if you find time friends of ours are going to be staying in cabin 1880 on Deck 12, they are concerned with the area as it looks to be off the health club and it's part of the newly added cabins, if you could could you possibly snap a few photos of the entrance to the cabins on 12 and the hallway near it??? It would make them stop freaking out about that part lol

I'll go take a look later on and make a picture.

We are on 8 forward on ours, no other balconies were left when we booked 14 months out. So I'm a tad concerned about that, I'll be packing Dramamine and sea bands for sure.

When we did the cabin crawl I felt a lot more motion in the forward ocean view. I am seasick and have been taking bonine. I am doing great so far, those pills will surely help.

Wow, it must be very windy! Stay safe, just about where are you?

    Laurie

Staying safely inside, that's for sure. There goes my dream of going home with a nice tan... [emoji31]. I am currently in my bed, but you probably didn't want to know that [emoji23][emoji12]. Posted our position just for you.

Went up to have lunch in the Windjammer and then I took a nap before the 3.30 performance of Freedom-ice.com. It was outstanding

Tonight was the second formal night. I had a wonderful cup of cream of asparagus and a grilled chicken Caesar salad with a baked potato. I skipped desert in the MDR and headed to the Windjammer for a wonderful crepe! They are delicious.

Tonight's show is a juggler, but I will be skipping the show again and go to bed early.

  7. Our position earlier today. We should reach the Azores tomorrow at 8, morning or evening, I don't really know

I had a wonderful day. Let me start by saying that I seem to sleep longer and longer and still end up tired. I am probably just so relaxed that I am catching up on sleep. Being in the middle of the ocean us amazing. I could see myself doing another crossing in the future. I absolutely live it, just as I absolutely love this ship, this crew and the food. The food is wonderful, both in the MDR and thé Windjammer!

After breakfast I was so ready for my all access tour. It was 2 hours long, took us to the bridge, the engine control room, I95, the galley, the stock rooms and the recycle place. It was so worth $89. I had a blast and was left with a souvenir

    More pictures coming!

  8. Did MTD at 7, same CC table every day. I am seated at a great table, the same waiters every day, but I think I prefer the traditional dining. Plus there seems to be lines all the time. Again the food was great! Not going to the show tonight, just watching some Star Trek in the company of my new friend. He's the cutest towel animal ever, except for the duckling I got on Adventure and took home with me.

The wind must be blowing pretty hard, as I can feel the ship shaking.

Tomorrow I have the all access tour, so stay turned for pictures. Good night all.

  9. Got up at 7.15 this morning fir the character breakfast and it was lots of fun, even if you don't have any kids. The menu is specially designed for it!

Round 4 of master sea chef was on today and we now have 3 chefs left. It has been lots of fun and very entertaining so far. Returned to my stateroom to find this on my bed. Very nice, but also very unexpected.

At 11.30 we did the CC slot pull and even if we didn't wind the jackpot, it was fun. Another hour forward at noon, so I had a late lunch in the MDR. The Tutti salad is amazing. The food has been wonderful so far!

Went up to deck 11 to catch some sun, but the wind makes it cold and started creating waterfalls.

    65c1aef68236b93edc8283f42fef9367.jpg

Went to the welcome back party to see what all that was about and ran into King Julian.

the ice skaters put up a short show and it was nice.

Some people reached milestones and got celebrated and of course Mario gave a little speech. He's one funny guy.

  10. Thanks for your review. My Father and I will be taking the Brilliance from Tampa to Amsterdam in April 2018 with ports of call in Punto Degalda Azores, Cob, Dublin and Waterford Ireland. Then we will spend time in Amsterdam.

We love the Trans Atlantics and have done New Orleans to Rome, Sao Paulo(Santos) Brazil to Barcelona, San Juan-Barcelona , Barcelona-Dubai, Panama Canal Cruise on Princess from Ft. Lauderdale-Los Angles and Cunard 2 week Med from Athens-Rome.

We are Emerald on Royal Caribbean and will be Diamond after 8 more nights of sailing with Royal after our upcoming cruise.

I try to chose exotic destinations.

Too bad Royal Caribbean does not have Biscoff Cookies with Nutella and Specloos(sp).

Biscoff is another thing we do well in Belgium, but I have never seen them with nutella though. We do have the speculoos spread and it is delicious!

I am really loving this cruise, I want to do another TA already!

Thank you for your review loving every minute of it as we sail in July on the Med. I am really hoping your weather improves. Heres to sunshine :cool:

Thank you. Sun was out today, but it is still very windy. Now if I could find a spot out of the wind, it would be really nice.

I really enjoy following your journey! Your photos are amazing! I can't wait to set sail on FOS in June.

Thanks for following. I wish you a great sailing.

  11. Hi, Cindy,

Good to talk with you again. It's wonderful to read about another review on the Freedom and looking at your various pictures, I kept saying, hey, I was standing at that spot of the ship just few months ago. Thanks for bringing back the wonderful memories.

I hope you have enough space in your suitcase for all the shopping you did in Florida. Hope the weather will improve as you journey northward.

    Harry

Thank you for tagging along! I have an extra suitcase, so I should be fine. Weather still not cooperating!

  12. Thanks for sharing, we'll be on Freedom on June 4!

Thank you for taking the time to share your cruise! Although, I think I might be glad to be at home with warning signs about going outside and “sick bags” stuffed into the stairway handrails… If you should meet Leonardo’s waitress Raluca, please do say ‘Hello’ from her April 9th guests and tell her that we are hoping to hear from her. She is a fabulous waitress and a wonderful person with an interesting family that she’s happy to talk about should you inquire. Wishing you calmer winds!

Love to be traveling along with you in spirit. I did my first cruise on Freedom and will be sailing again next year. I can't wait. I hope the seas calm down a bit for you.

Really enjoying your review. Sounds fab apart from the weather. Can you take photos of the entertainment with a mobile phone? Noticed it says no flash photography but would love to be able to take some photos on my phone. Hope the weather improves soon.

    Thank you all for reading!

  13. Cruise director Michele is amazing! He's everywhere, has lots of energy and he is funny! Love him!

Captain Espen is very present on the ship too.

Stateroom 8631: amazing location! Close to everything and barely a peep, even with loud music on the promenade, I only hear a faint bass.

Wifi, surf and stream is pretty good. Netflix still works in the middle of the Atlantic. Interactive tv is a hit or miss. It works one time out of three!

  14. Had a very nice day today, despite the weather not cooperating! It wasn't very sunny and still really windy. I ran into Mario today and asked him what weather he had on his 20 crossings. Guess what? This is baddest weather he had. Of course, it had to happen when I'm on the ship!

Round 3 master sea chef and it keeps getting better and better. They are adding the oddest combination to the mystery box. Poor judges!

Had breakfast at Cafe Promenade today. Fruit, granola and some bread. It was really good.

    Lunch at Giovanni's was amazing!

Walked around deck 4 today and ran into the doggie litter box. There's 4 dogs on board.

Ended up in the cantilevered hot tub today and that felt so nice. Except the water was slushing and I couldn't read my book. And it was cold when I got out.

Spent a good part of the day reading. Had dinner in the MDR and the food has been really good so far!

Show was a comedy/illusion show, but Drew was much better. Standing on the Promenade right now and it's the dancing in the street parade. Way too crowded.

Adult comedy with Jimmy Carroll later on. But first I will be going to my stateroom to change and post the compasses!

  15. It will be an early night for me, I am extremely tired. I bet it's that healthy sea air!

I just managed to forget my sea pass in my room and had to get a new one if I wanted to sleep in my bed. Funny thing is that on the one they made at guest relations it says I have a soda package, which I don't. RCI's IT at work? Of course, that one goes in the safe since I am too honest and like my cans better. I am off to continue with my Star Trek TNG marathon if Netflix cooperates! Goodnight everyone.
