  1. Good to excellent MDR Explorer Seas in Europe (from Ravenna in Aug 2023). Fish perfectly prepared, Meat was good/very good. DH got a med+ prime rib, when he asked for Med-rare, but it was a huge piece, so he kept it and said it was fine. On par with Celebrity and Princess for this cruise. Better than Vision (Europe) last year.
  2. Using above math (3X7) + 1 extra point=22, plus my post 2011 cruises is 56 points, which is what C&A shows. Thanks for insight. Weird though, a 7 night (from last year) that's counted in that 56 doesn't show up, and DH is at only 49 points with that 7 night (as well as all others) showing up.
  3. So, from 2007-2010, if I had below cruises, I should get 7x3 plus 1 extra=22 points on conversion? 7 night OV 3 night OV 4 night OV
  4. Sorry, meant nights. Question is do the prior 2011 cruises up to 7 days all get 7 points+1 extra point? I read elsewhere on CC that this is how C&A calculated them.
  5. C&A points--are cruises prior to 2011 counted as # days+1? What about for a 3 or 4 day cruise? I read somewhere that prior to 2011, we got 7 days+1 point? I've got 2 little 3-4 day cruises, and if that's the case, it's not reflected in the conversion. It would push us into the next level. Also, will C&A desk recalculate it for us via phone, or is there somewhere I send an email? Thanks, Elaine
  6. you have to read the fine print. some do drop back off at Athinios and you tender back--ours did. Others dropped off in town. I picked ours based upon that. The ship's excursion staff doesn't always know--ours insisted we'd be dropped off in Fira. When I asked him to read the excursion details, he then saw it was back to Athinios. FYI-it's a bit of a (short but somewhat wild) ride on the bus getting up the hill on the curves. Coming down was fine--maybe the glass of wine....
  7. Just there last week. Cruise ships anchor and use water shuttle and/or tenders. Water shuttle is port service, tender is ship's tenders. For our cruise and the other ship anchored that day, it seemed that if on a ship's excursion, likely going to the "new" port. If DIY or other private excursion, then to "old port" that has the cable cars/donkey/walk up trail.
  8. We got the bag on day 5 of 7 day cruise (Explorer out of Ravenna).
  9. Sailed QV Aug 13. We had Open dining. We arrived each evening around 6:30-6:45pm and had a table for 2-none at the same location, but we had a choice of several options. All were very good seats. We shared (our choice) 2 evenings. By 7:30 onwards, we noticed a line-some nights not much, others, significant.
  10. Thanks all. We had regular balcony, deck 7 and happy to get 1:30 arrival time assigned. Needed to know to book national coach. All set for our 1st time on Cunard.
  11. Our first Cunard cruise. On other cruise lines, we can choose our boarding time, and earlier times tend to go faster--so it matters when one does online check in. As Cunard assigns times, does it matter when we check in online at 21 days for boarding time? Will checking in right at 21 days get us an earlier time? Also, what time does online check in start? thank you, Elaine
  12. When I price out the Plus For the new Princess 24 sale, with 3rd and 4th free in cabin, the 1st 2 have a Plus fare and the 3/4 are zero cost, except for taxes/port fees. Do they still get the Plus drinks package (and included gratuities)? Great deal if yes. Still happy if not.
  13. I booked via agent but still just emailed it to directly to Cunard at address on prior post list and got email reply a week later.
  14. We take our small carryon bag with us to breakfast when we depart our cabin by 8:15 to not impose on cabin steward’s timing. Thanks to all.
  15. On other cruiselines, we typically leave our cabin at 8:15, go to breakfast at and then depart the ship around 9am. We usually do not eat breakfast earlier than 8am. We have a late train from London that afternoon.
  16. Hi, we're on the QV this Aug. What is the typical disembark schedule for SH for summer sailings? What is the latest we can be out of cabins? What time does buffet breakfast end? What is latest we can disembark the ship? Thank you, Elaine
  17. Hi. has anyone done the Royal Caribbean transfer from Ravenna to train station schedule? Would a shuttle listed as 9:15 get me there in PLENTY of time to catch a 9:45 train? meaning time to find out where I'm going, get lost in station for 10 minutes, etc.? Anyone have a recent schedule? Would the 9:15 be when to meet or when it is actually departing? Thanks, Elaine
  18. Shareholder OBC-can I use it before onboard to book shore excursions if I call?
  19. There was activity a number of nights in the Centrum after dinner on the Vision last year in Europe. But, if you got a twosome chair seating on the 5th or 6th floor, you could look down and people watch and still chat/read as the noise was not that loud. One night was silent disco--as in total silence. It is fairly quite in the Windjammer, as not many people use it for dinner esp. later. Open until 9.
  20. We've had many sailings on both. Decide if Glacier Bay is a must. If so, do Princess. For DH and I, we enjoy the bit more elegant Princess and would choose over RCCL except for newer larger RCCL ships, which we enjoy a lot for variety and top entertainment. When adding our young adult kids, we only consider RCCL and NCL, and (oddly) Disney (which has great venues for the young 20s), and possibly Celebrity as it has a bit "hipper" vibe than Princess, in various small pocket bars and entertainment choices. Princess as others have stated doesn't have enough "fun/young" stuff. Holidays and cruises during school breaks tend to have more kids on Princess than other times. RCCL has more kids/young adults all times.
  21. quick call to Cunard resolved--Cunard anytime dining confirmation on TA invoice inadvertently changed to 2nd seating.
