  1. It seems exceedingly unlikely that people would smoke pot in a public restroom, considering the consequences of being caught. On Oasis there was an attendant cleaning the bathroom I'd say 60% of the time I was in one.

If people are going to do that it'll be in the cabin or on balcony for sure.

Or if they're from Colorado they'd just bring some oils or something edible. The industry has learned how to make MJ products that are highly discrete.

  2. And what would she had done if the wound dehisced after the sutures were removed? It is always nice to try and be helpful. Unfortunately, being helpful sometimes leads to unintended consequences and liability. Years of practicing medicine have taught be to think like a lawyer.

A hand wound with 10 stitches dehiscing? Seems rather unlikely wouldn't you say?

  3. On our recent Oasis cruise I had our time confused and we were 15 minutes late for dinner the first 3 nights. They didn't bat an eye. I felt kind of embarrassed when I found out, I finally noticed that everyone seemed to be getting their appetizers way before we did. I wish they had said something the first night. He got a good extra tip from me and a 10/10.

So on that ship at that time with that waiter 15 minutes was fine.

We didn't have any table mates or I'd have found out the first night I'm sure.

  4. I don't know how it works on a ship but on land you can't charge separately for suture removal, it's bundled into the initial treatment. So on land you would have to pay out of pocket if you had them taken out by someone other than the person (or one of her partners/employees) who put them in.

and yes they are super easy to take out, the only thing you need to know is not to pull any of the suture material that was outside your skin back into the wound.

  5. My husband discreetly left and got a glass at the Central Park bar (one of our favorite places nightly when listening to concerts). It is such a peaceful spot.

I'm glad you liked it, but to me this is ridiculous. You have to pay a premium then go get your own glass of wine? Why couldn't the server do it? I heard a similar story about Sabors, a reviewer could barely get the waiter to go 20 feet to the bar to get her a margarita.

    They need to fix this.

  6. We did Xplor all inclusive.

It was expensive, and took ALL DAY.

but it was amazing and so much fun. Incredibly well-organized. It was the highlight of our trip. It is quite physically active though.

My boys are 12 and 15. I'm a bit older than that ;) but in pretty good shape (I run alot) and for us it was superb. I would love to go back.

It's a very unique experience. And the description mentions a "light lunch" but it was a full on really good buffet.

  7. You know, I see this debated all the time, but I can't recall ever seeing shorts in MDR at dinner. Maybe I don't notice or something.

On our recent Oasis trip, it seemed everyone in MDR was nicely dressed. On formal night I'd say 90% of the men had jacket and tie. No t-shirts that I saw (note I did not walk around the whole place, but our table was near the back so we got to walk through a good portion of the room each night.)

Maybe it's late seating? Different crowd, or more time to get ready?

My 12 yo son wanted to wear shorts one night, most of you will be happy to know I said no way. For a dare I told him to try to find one person wearing shorts that night, he was not able to.

  8. I don't spend much time in the pool but I do like a 30-60 siesta with a good book and cocktail once in a while. it amazes me how many chairs are unoccupied, yet strewn with towels, books, flip flops, sun cream etc. I like the idea of an attendant putting a marker or similar on a chair and then removing items if necessary.

Btw, I also think that by putting issues like this to Royal on Twitter or Facebook would make them take a little more notice.

Btw again, what are my chances of a nice siesta on Oasis in September 😀

We never had any trouble last week on Oasis, even on sea days. If you don't have to be right by pool there are plenty of choices.

We had late seating dinner as we always do and by 5 pm the pools and chairs were practically deserted. But even at peak times there was always something.

  9. Thanks for the great review!

We enjoyed our trip immensely and decided we like Oasis better than Freedom. More included dining options and the overall layout was so cool. We don't do specialty dining and found the MDR to be excellent every night. We did miss the promenade on Freedom.

We did late seating traditional as per usual which works out great. The pools are deserted starting around 5 so if you don't have dinner until 8 you can do some serious laying out for a few hours at that time.

One nice thing about the lifeguards was that they were kicking out unsupervised kids that were unruly (if you're under 12 you're suppose to have a parent nearby.)

I really liked Cats, I also went on last day and was fully expecting to take a Cats-nap (sorry couldn't resist) but I stayed awake the whole time. I agree the plot is impossible.

We went back to Blue Hole, it was nice but so much more crowded than 3 years ago.
