Oslo pass is now also available via a smartphone app. You can purchase passes via the app upfront, and you can load passes for more than one person on a single phone. You need to activate the pass prior to using it. Your phone must have Internet access for the activation. The activation will start the validity countdown eg. 24 hours.

Technically it is no problem to walk but mostly it is a rather long way. Some smaller cruise ships docks quite near the Market but for bigger ships it is some 1.8 to 2.3 miles depending on where you the dock.

If coming from the US and if you need GPP for more than just the tip I suggest contacting Wells Fargo and exchange monies before you go - did that my last trip and it worked very well

We are using a car service - Smithsforairport - they meet you after customs and drive you straight to your hotel/dock in Southampton

Are you sailing on 7th? I have the same question about the evening! We want to walk around cause I heard it will be amazing! After a lot of reading I end up that booking an evening tour is the best option. I found 1-2. If someone has something to suggest please....

I am on the Navigator of the Seas and using TJ Tours during the day but arranged an evening walk on the Nevsky Project and a boat tour afterward. Probably all the companies do the same thing.

I did this last month with Thrifty - there is a drop off site about 10-15 minutes away and they have multiple buses to take you back. Have them get on ship and you can call them on your cell phone to find them.
