  1. Ok, here is the answer should this happen with anyone else. We placed holds on these reservations and allowed pvp to complete. Pvp in process of canceling holds to rebook so he could apply credits we had (which is a good thing) bumped into a problem of some sorts. He had created an actual 2nd booking which couldn’t be accessed for some reason. When we talked with carnival last evening they said no booking on system so they booked us and this new booking got promptly canceled because they really did have a booking. You can’t have 2 bookings for same person, same date obviously so we got notice that Sorry you canceled your booking last night 1 hour after making it. This morning I got through quickly and got a wonderful agent on the call center who stayed with the problem after she validated she understood its history. She worked at it and also found no other booking for this trip in my name & VIFP number. She then brought in a lead agent who quickly found d the invisible booking and what you know problem resolved. WE HOPE! but clearly it all depends on getting a good customer service and thank you carnival for todays agent.
  2. I agree which is what we did. My wife booked a cabin under her offer with a guest and I booked a second inside cabin under my offer without a second guest.
  3. Any advice appreciated. My wife and I each had inside room for the Hot offer and we each booked a room on Sunday. Her room has held but my booking canceled sending me the standard email saying “ sorry you have canceled your reservation”. Second time was our pvp booking the cabin on Monday and yep it canceled on him. I waited until last night thinking my pvp would get it fixed but worrying that offer would close out so I called carnival last night and got a great agent. She booked my room and took $200 deposit and 1 hour later yep another sorry you canceled your reservation email. I am waiting on carnival to open at 9 to get into line to talk with someone again but wondered if I am missing something?
  4. Great helpful information as we prepare to do our first MSC cruise. Wondering what a good deal for a paid upgrade from balcony to YT club using our casino offer would be. Thanks for this helpful info.
  5. No, rhyme, no reason, no consistency. We have gotten bounce back on every cruise except the last one 2 weeks ago aboard Sunshine. We had 19500 and 15000 points respectively between the 2 of us and we had a lot of table play and slots as well. We didn’t see a bounce back offer aboard or since our return. Additionally, what were good offers of $1000, free drinks everywhere, & free balcony have dried up to inside, $500, drinks while playing. Guess we have worn out our welcome or just cast into a group of known cruisers/gamblers. We decided to give carnival a break from our money and are booking with other lines for the next few months and we will see if offers return. I should add we have canceled some bookings (3 with penalty) that we had scheduled over the next 3 months as the table/slot drink service has gotten simply terrible. Thought we would see how holding off would help and why not wait until carnival gets more staff aboard.
  6. We have sailed since the restart at least twice each month and have clearly seen the increase of capacity numbers. We thoroughly enjoyed the reduced capacity sailings we expected this change of full capacity. We sailed the Mardi Gras (first sailing) to conquest and while we fully enjoyed the Mardi Gras we have sailed conquest 4 times now and it currently our ship of choice. The crew and service has been amazing while admittedly it has a number of area’s needing rust/paint attention everything was clean and working order. Every trip for us is a pleasure and we will just roll with the challenges.
  7. We have successfully used CVS since COVID testing was implemented. We are “now” finding that CVS on its web COVID test registration page a posted a new statement for quick test (not lab test) that test not valid for travel. Why the change and is really accurate? Has anyone tested under the new rules and successfully used cvs test results for boarding a cruise? We are using Walgreens now when we can get an appointment but would like to have cvs as a cruise testing option as well. We did make a half dozen phone calls into cvs and so far the only answers we could get is that cvs is running short of quick test and they will often go from 2 weeks out for test appointments to only next day appointments. .
  8. Over the past week we saw our great casino offers disappear and at one point over the weekend we had zero offers available. Yesterday we saw new casino offers appeared but they are significantly reduced which we expected would happen as Carnival got busier with stronger bookings or the number of our used offers reached a certain point. As background we have indeed taken advantage of a number of these offers and we played extensively in the casino on each of those cruises. We also have a number of the most generous offer “Plan Now Sail Later” booked for the coming months. While we suspect that our offers will remain tight for awhile but hopefully will increase as the data of our play begins to impact our history. We are certainly not complaining as we get it and as a couple who enjoy playing in the casino the offers we were getting under Plan Now Play were actually good enough that we literally canceled casino cruises we had booked with other cruise lines in order to accept these lucrative offers from carnival. It was simply money that as gamblers we couldn’t leave on the table. So our question is what are the casino junkies seeing and wondering if others are seeing this tightening of offers or we simply had booked enough of the best offers to have shut off the best offers. This is one of the reasons we like these boards and knowledge can be powerful tool.
