    The Miracle is a sister ship to the Pride. If the Pride could receive all those upgrades, then the only reason to not upgrade the Miracle is cost or they found the upgrades did not work well on the Pride. I's going with cost.

     

     

    It was not going to get those enhancements even before pride got them. So it's not because they don't work.

     

    Not sure the reasoning but yeah the west coast got screwed yet again.

    Hey Capt!! We sailed with you on the Pride in January!! Any secret info on what will be done during drydock?? Mixed opinions on whether she'll get all the same stuff as Pride did. Man we sure hope she does!! Love Guys, Blue Iguana & dive in movies.

    Long Beach Port Problems

    I have sailed out of long beach twice,last time being late 2013, never any issues. my wife and I will check a bag each, both times and I am not saying this to brag, I spot the guy a 20.00 as they work their butts off and my bag seems to be well taken care of. Definitely isn't something you have to do just something I choose to do

    Hello, I hope people have some suggestions for me. I have previously sailed out of Long Beach twice. One time we drove in a day early and stayed at the Queen Mary and did the park and sail. In October the wife and I are once again leaving out of long beach aboard a 15 day sailing to Hawaii. However my wife doesn't really want to stay at the Queen Mary again this time. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to stay that's pretty close, not too expensive since its just for a night and that possibly has shuttle service and my vehicle would be safe there for two weeks? Thanks in advance.

    Ensenada take the two winery tour. It's amazing. You can purchase some great wine at cheap prices along with olive oil, jams and other things. Only like $35.00 pp or so for the tour.

    As someone who works in IT, and fixes computers and sets up iPhone apps for accessing e-mail through a VPN, I agree with you 10,000,000 percent. Heck, I took up cruising specifically so my employer can't reach me on vacation. (They want everyone to be reachable 24/7, only they won't pay for shore-to-ship calls.) Who could have thought cruising would turn into something I do by choice, rather than necessity.

    On our last cruise, we chose Anytime Dining, and opted not to take dress up clothes. On the two formal nights, we skipped the MDR and went to the buffet for dinner. I was really surprised at how many others had opted to skip Elegant Night as well. I have to admit it, it was so relaxing not to have to dress up for dinner. It also was nice not to have to pack the extra clothing. I remember reading on here some time ago that someone suggested that since the ships have two dining rooms, why not designate one for Elegant Night, and the other for casual wear? The menu would the same in both dining rooms, and guests would have the option to dress up or not for dinner in the MDR. Seems like a good idea to me.

    I don't go on elegant night as my wife and I don't wish to pack those kinds of clothes. And it's fine with us, we understand. It's elegant night for a reason and although we never go to elegant night I think they should keep it with the more strict dress code.

    Just stayed in one last September. Tiny balcony and the room didn't feel any bigger than a standard balcony that we stayed in on the pride. Priority boarding was cool though.

    We also stayed in V11 with our friends right next store.

    Honestly in the end it's not a matter if you had a good time or not or if you were disappointed or not. You were there for the girls and if they had a good time that's all that matters.

     

    If you didn't have a good time, sorry. Better luck next time. I just hope the girls, who were the main reason for the trip had a blast. I'm thinking they did and all the trivial stuff didn't matter to them in the least.

    Juarez is by El Paso, TX. As said above, that area has had issues for years.

    No where near Ensenada which is 75 miles south of the border from San Diego.

     

    The wine tour is nice. We enjoy the jams at Dona Lupe. The other wines we can get in the markets.

     

     

    +2, my wife and I.

     

    We both loved the wine tour and all the goods we brought back. Including the jam.

    As someone who manages a call center team, the last thing I want to do is play with technology on a cruise. It is a week to get away from the phone, pc, tablet.

     

     

     

     

    and as someone who works in a call center environment (not just talking on phones)and after months of getting yelled at by people who don't want to play by the rules....

    Weird. I sailed on the inspiration last September with my wife and found the ship to be VERY clean and the staff very friendly and never lacked for anything to do, especially on a short four day cruise. We also found the food to be pretty darn good. My wife is one of those that if it isn't good she won't even eat one more bite of something and I believe she only threw two things out the entire trip. Sorry you had such a bad time. But we had a blast.
