During the Q&A with the cruise director on our final day at sea he explained all the 2.0 upgrades to the Pride and what they were going to be. They all sound amazing.

I really hope this as well. Pride is a fantastic ship. We really enjoyed her.
We are stock with pride or RCCL out of Baltimore until our kids are older. Don't want to fly with a baby and a 5 year old. A 5 year old and a 10 year old would be easier. I am really torn between trying RCCL and doing pride 2.0 next year. Waiting new pride reviews after Drydock to see what we want to do.
I have a feeling it will be fine. By the time you go any kinks should be worked out.

Sorry, I'm a realist. Have been cruising for over 20 years. In the old system, there were those who did not tip. It's probably the same type of folks who remove the auto tips. While I believe there are people who remove auto tips and DO tip, I think there are still non-tippers out there. For good or bad, here in the US, the system is based on tipping. I consider the auto tips as part of the fare. We do tip for extra service. I am going to start throwing a couple dollars on the laundry bag (we are platinum) as it makes more work for our steward. We always tip for room service (love that coffee in the a.m.)

Room service ALWAYS gets a generous tip from us as well. All of these people work their tails off and we try to show our appreciation.

You hang around guest services to listen to peoples conversations? Very saddening indeed. The cruise line gives people the option of what to do; there is no problem with people making use of any of the options. Who are you to say what is best? What you feel is best is what is best for YOU. Carnival offers choices to people; all we can do here is let others know what those choices are
Jeeez....calm down and have some coffee. I read no ill intent on the part of the poster. Quit trying to be the morale police.
In response to the original question yes you can do that. My wife and I will just do the auto tips and usually the very first time we meet our cabin steward will give him or her some money from the start thanking them for all the work they do and taking care of us for this upcoming cruise. And then at the end give them a little more if they have done a good job. It seems as though we have received the best service and our room had been extra clean/straightened up/extra ice/ whatever during the time of the cruise. We also give extra to others at the end as we see fit.

Not really one thing but we do take full advantage of getting coffee and whatever breakfast bagel/pastry type item from room service and enjoying the balcony.

The first cruise always holds a special place in your heart no matter how many you have been on. The ship is very clean and well taken care of. It is going in later this year for the 2.0 upgrades.

Thank you very much for the review, loving it. my wife and I took our honeymoon cruise on the pride, our first cruise ever. this ship holds a special place in our hearts. glad to see this beautiful ship is still looking just as good as when we sailed on her. looking forward to more pictures and stories.

She should be getting the same upgrades as the Pride which includes a Guys. They haven't released what 2.0 upgrades she I'd getting yet though.

Not trying to insult anyone just simply pointing out that since Carnival announced they were moving a Spirit class ship from Tampa all there has been in crying. Like I said I sympathize with you guys because it would upset me, but pointing out you have a lot more options living in Tampa or the Tampa area then the majority of the country. Look at what you have in around you. Trust me most people who sail really don't feel sorry for you and view you all as spoiled.

I can't recommend the Wine Country Tour ENOUGH ;)
What a fantastic excursion!!! You will not be disappointed with the wine & liqueur tasting! There are wonderful tapas to accompany the wines, the scenery is fantastic, the tour guide on the bus is amazing and full of info, there is even a little Aztec dance performance that is done. The price of the wine is VERY reasonable at about $7.00 per bottle at L.A. Cetto and is very good quality!!! Plus you walk away with a bottle of free wine per person!
It is a great tour.

There is a wine tour that goes to two wineries. It's awesome. They feed you and you get to taste a bunch of different wines. At the first one they even give you a bottle. Last year when my wife and I went, between the two wineries we bought about 7 bottles of wine. Several bottles of olive oil and a couple of jars of preserves for about $70.00 US. And they do take US currency. It's about a 4 hour excursion. Well worth the money and wasn't even expensive. Around $40.00 or so PP.

We are doing the October 2015 as well with a bunch of people from our October 2013 Hawaii cruise. Our best cruise in 35 years of cruising.
That is great!
The wife and I have wanted to see Hawaii for a long time and this is the best and cheapest way. Plus all those nice long sea days of napping,relaxing and reading are a huge bonus for us!
