Hank, you sure will. It certainly won't take you long to find your way around Sojourn either! Enjoy.

Will be on the Soujourn for only 14 days. My preference is to stick with the smaller ships in the luxury category, and not so sure we want to be on those Odyssey Class vessels. What is really weird is that our total cost per passenger day on Seabourn is less then half the cost of doing a Sky Suite on the Edge. Go figure.
Hank
Hank, Soujourn is Odyssey class. They are the smaller ships, the larger ones are Encore and Ovation. Very good value for money imho.

Hlitner, you will be hooked on SB. As you can probably tell my favourite line, I have tried most of the lux lines too. Which SB ship are you taking? The smallest, now retired triplets were my favourite, but now it is the Odyssey.
-
Ody is my favourite, much nicer than Encore, all down to personal opinion.

No change to champagne, still NF, they have prosecco too. Cheese, didn't really notice an issue, and we disembarked when we wanted to, as always. Don't do canapes, only caviar, and that is still available. It is not representative of my last cruise, in fact the food was far better last summer than the previous year!

I must back Tilly's comments here, as we had a very similar experience of attempts to sell premium wine and rather snooty treatment by staff. This was when the grill was fairly new, and I think that at that time some of the staff were a bit too 'full of it', having been very recently indoctrinated on how the place should be run. I am sure that now the concept has been running much longer everything will have settled down and the normal Seabourn great attitude will be in place. Although we still feel that the food and the menus are over rated. Would love to try Earth and Ocean.
Lincslady, you will love Earth & Ocean, it is fabulous. My most recent TK grill experience was last summer on Ody, I am not sure if it was a recent change over of staff or what, but their attitude was pretty bad, and other passengers had similar experiences. The staff's attitude made for an amusing and outdated experience, quite a way from any Michellin star service ever received recently, but it is refreshing to see a modern, cooler approach being adopted at Earth & Ocean.

Tk has always been a very mediocre experience for us on SB, and we have found the staff to be very unseabourn like. Very disappointed if you didn't purchase a bottle of wine and seemingly very "pleased" with themselves. Though I am not sure why! As for Earth and Ocean, what a triumph, it was just brilliant every single time. Totally kicked the ass of the TK grill.

In the past on some cruise lines my choice for breakfast, fresh berries has been distinctly lacking. Does anyone know if these would be available in Luminae as they are not specifically on the menu or is this something i should mention if being in a cs I am contacted prior to sailing by celebrity? Thanks
-
Bimmer, I would definitely try the speciality restaurants on board, We found them to be the highlight of our otherwise moderate Az experience. How is the food comparing with Luminae etc?

Thanks for your help

Glory, thanks that really helps. 1615 & 1618 are gone, so it is just a normal balcony, but you are correct they certainly look bigger than the s1 aft corners. It is just pretty important to us as we spend loads of time there! Is there a better side? I read about a smoking area or something i want to avoid. And are the suites next to 1615 more private due to angles? Thanks
-
I am very interested in a cs on Silhouette, but worried the balcony isn't going to be as good as an S1 balcony aft. Options for cs are 1620/17/22/19, nothing else available. We spend alot of time outside,so concerned the balcony will be too small, anyone have any sage like words please?
-
Great, this is really helpful folks.
I now have to decide between an s1 on deck 9 at the rear or a CS, 1620,1617,1622 or 1619. That is all available, which has the largest balcony, as i hear s1 is likely to be bigger than cs? And or where is the best located CS for balcony size, though i expect they will all be similar. Thanks again.
-
May I ask, are you assigned a specific table in Luminae or is it forst come first served or depending on suite category? Thanks

Thanks Randy

Looking at booking a sky and a CS, but which CS do i book, one with an angled balcony, which i am assuming is referred to as on the hump. Or one next door with a straight balcony onto the sea, both midships. Thanks

Thanks Gordon
-
Thanks, has anybody had an S1 aft deck 9 or 10?
-
My research tells me that there are some sky suites on Silhouette that have smaller balconies than others. I have the option of a deck 10 aft and a deck 9 aft. Any reasons why one is preferable or are both similarly bad/good? Thanks
-
The selection is absolutely rubbish, not everyone wants over two weeks away and the alternative is 3 nights in somewhere moderate at best. Really can't understand this strategy, must be down to cost cutting but they are going to loose a big slice of the market by doing so.

May I ask, could one theoretically dine in a speciality restaurant every night if in a minimum ph grade or is there a limit? Also can you make a weeks worth of reservations in advance online? Thanks
