  1. I would certainly give them the benefit of the doubt for more than 15 minutes, that's all. And I say that as someone who has moved towels in the past.
  2. I agree, but if you know the towel has been there since before breakfast, than you have been monitoring it for more than 15 minutes.
  3. Other cruisers moving possessions after just 15 minutes seems a little extreme. It can take that long to get your drink from a crowded bar and make it back to your chair.
  4. On the cruises I have been on they had pineapple as well. That's what I usually drank.
  5. It is seeming more and more that the information in the OP's post was either completely fake or grossly exaggerated in every respect.
  6. My guess is that you were able to buy insurance that close to the cruise date because that is when you booked the cruise. I don't think Carnival would let someone who booked it a year earlier do that.
  7. Personally, I would never contact John Heald for something that could be easily solved in some other way. He gets thousands upon thousands of emails, and he works 16 hours a day trying to answer them all. Give the poor guy a break when you can.
  8. I filed a non-cruise-related travel claim last April. The insurance agency I bought the policy from has a "no-complaints" guarantee. After not getting a decision for 2 months, I contacted the agency about it. It may have been just a coincidence, but the claim was settled that day.
  9. I don't know about that specific ship, but in the last couple of years every ship I have sailed on serves Truly.
  10. Where flights are concerned, Carnival is acting more like a travel agent as opposed to the actual provider. Would you expect your travel agent to reimburse you if your flight got rescheduled? We booked a flight through Carnival for a particular cruise because at the time, it was less expensive than what we could get on our own, plus it was refundable until a certain date, unlike what we were finding with the airlines/travel agents.
  11. It's certainly worth looking into. We got what we thought was a good deal on our October cruise out of Rome, but we booked it several months ago.
  12. Exactly. If you choose to blow up your vacation and forfeit what you have already spent, that's on you.
  13. You had no trip insurance? With all due respect, what were you planning to do if a heart became available while you were on the cruise?
  14. Not to brag, but hubby and I recently went on a 2-week trip to Europe with 2 carry-ons and two backpacks. I literally can't remember the last time I checked bags on an airline. If you don't mind repeating outfits, you can make it work.
  15. That must have been peak seating time. We have had YTD for the past ten cruises or so. We go on the early side and have never had to wait more than ten or fifteen minutes for a table.
  16. But you are waiting at baggage claim for your stuff while I am already in an Uber to my destination. 🙂
  17. I am a "mean" Mom, and if it were up to me, I would tell them that if they don't get up in time to eat breakfast, they better pack some granola bars in their carryons, because that's all they will be getting until they are aboard ship. It's their choice. 😃
  18. Just a heads up, Kmom. We were on Mackinac Island last summer and they did not let you anywhere near the hotel if you are not a guest. There were security staff on the walkway up to the front porch stopping people. We told them we wanted to eat lunch there, and they would not let us through. It might have been a Covid thing, but it sure didn't look like it.
  19. I am sure it happens, but in my experience (and I am platinum), I see far more misbehaving adults than children.
  20. I can't think of many ways that kids have negatively impacted cruises I have taken. I go up to Serenity when I want to spend time on deck, the overwhelming majority of children I have encountered in the MDR (where I eat whenever I had the opportunity) have been reasonably well-behaved. They aren't in or around the bars. I don't see them much in the comedy clubs or the theater show. What is actually gained by having an all-adult Carnival ship? Not much, IMO.
