Cruisegal- I see lots of sailing available. Nearly every one through the holidays.

Abe- You don’t need to pay in full (unless your booking a cruise that is already past final payment). The deposit is non- refundable.

I was playing with some dates today for giggles. Anyone willing to sail armonia in an inside can do it for about $25 pp/pd between MSc  obc and tc incentives. A balcony is about $70pp/pd.

Wish i could sail in the fall. Cheaper than staying home.

Not what it says in the promo

Did you cancel and rebook online? Just wondering how you kept your same room. The rep I talked to said I would probably lose mine if I cancelled. Is the room immediately available online after you cancel?  Thanks for any info.

I had to call twice to MSC. The first call did not go very well. Was told that we would have to cancel and rebook and put another deposit down. No guarantee about keeping same cabin and also had to get a new promo code since the one I used had expired since I tried it on a mock booking.

So so the next call to MSC I was able to get ahold of the lady who originally booked us a few weeks prior. She was very helpful and was able to apply the discount and keep the cabin. What she did was book another cabin in the same catagory, but had to use my wife’s voyagers club number instead of mine for the 5% and she had to be the primary person for the cabin.  For some reason my voyagers number would not attach to the promo, maybe since I was the primary for the original booking and they only allow one per cruise date, not sure. Once they applied her number it took 5% off then was able to add the 10% code. She then was able to move us to the room we originally booked, not sure how she did it and then cancelled our old booking. She was able to transfer our deposit to our new booking, which she says it will take two business days to post on the account.

It it worked out for us but was over an hour on the phone with the nice lady from MSC. Saved us about $400 from the Presidents’ Day Sale, even though we lost the internet package and a dinner at some type of show. To me those things are not worth the extra $400.

The most important thing thing for us was the cabin type. If we couldn’t keep the same type of cabin we wouldn’t have done it, but the best part is we got to keep our same original cabin and saved some extra dough.

This is is something I wouldn’t risk doing online with a current booking better to call MSC directly and hopefully it will work out like us.

  3. Don’t use code to do mock booking. Once it is applied and cancelled you have to get a new code for the discount.

We we were able to get the promo and cancelled our current booking since we saved almost $400 under new 10% promo. Also it is combinable with your voyagers 5%.

Also so we were able to keep the same room.

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere in this thread...I haven't read everything.

We'll be sailing in the YC on January 12.  When I look at my booking details it says, Price Description: "Drinks on Us."  It also states our experience as being Yacht Club.  Does this mean that anything outside of the YC will be the Drinks on Us package, which appears to be the lowest on chart of drink packages??  Why would it say that?

We originally booked back in June, but my most recent documentation from MSC dated 10/2/18, still has it listed as Drinks on Us as the price description.

I've completely given up on gelato.  If we have to pay for it, fine.  I would hope though, that outside of the YC I'll be able to get something better than Smirnoff without having to pay an upcharge.

We sail the week before you and booked back in February. Not sure what is going to happen with our drink package, but my guess is that they will honor what you booked before and will include the crepes and gelato/shakes etc...

I have tried a couple times to get info from MSC about it but no response.

To me the drink package changes (if there is any)  is not that big of a deal, but this is our first time with MSC and the Yacht Club.  I was hoping after reading what all is included the gelato/shakes and crepes sounded like a nice perk considering on our many cruises in the Haven on NCL they did not include such items and thought it was a nice added benifit.

Otherwise i I am not going to get all worked up about it. Still looking forward to this new experience and will still have a wonderful time even if I have to pay for gelato😝

  5. Yes, we were in balcony YC suite.

And yes, the mini-bar is included with the deluxe beverage package which comes with a YC room.

Thank you! We have the deluxe YC booked too booked and was happy to see there was plenty of room for the three of you. We have an 8 yr son going with us so glad the pull out bed was comfortable and plenty of room for storage!

  6. I booked a deluxe YC with 2 adults and 1 child. I booked with travel agent, but have done mock booking with the same passengers on the MSC website with no problem. Must be something wrong on Expedia.

  7. OK

Maybe I did not make myself clear. I used a travel agent and paid the full amount I was asked to pay.to the travel agent. I then tried to bid on the upgrade, for an entire week, and it kept telling me there was a problem, try again later. After a week I called NCL and was told that the amount I paid was $50 short and that's why my bid wasn't accepted. I paid the additional money to NCL to be able to bid. I then called my TA and told them the story and they immediately said NCL was wrong to even charge me anything. The error was on NCL's part and I did pay originally, what was the correct price. I was then refunded the $50 from NCL.

My problem was, by the time this was straightened out and I was allowed to bid, the ship had been sold pout, so whatever I did bid was useless, there were no more upgrades available. I called NCL again, because the error which prevented me from bidding, was a mistake on their part, and all I asked was if they could compensate me IN ANY WAY. I did not ask for anything specifically.

As I said originally, I wasn't expecting anything, but I felt the need to just get that off my chest. What I did not expect was to be talked to in a manner like I was, rudely et al.. The whys and the how's are just that, the whys and how's. What I was writing about was NOT that they didn't see things my way, but the way I was disrespected on the phone by an agent of NCL.

I hope that clears some things up.

    Cheers

    Len

Pick the cabin you are happy with first. Don’t rely on upgrades to make yourself happy. If it happens it happens. NCL is not required to offer you any upgrades. You picked the cabin by choice and that’s on you.

Also your travel agent screwed up and that is not NCL’s fault. Get over it or you will have a bad cruise.

  8. No. Sometimes you need a bottle. Going ashore, bedside table at night. Ever try to drink from a glass while mostly laying down? Doesn’t work. Water bottle works. And no I’m not taking a refillable water bottle on vacation because I’m on vacation. The environment can wait. It’s about convenience and a standardized safe product, Nothing more.

I guess the environment can wait forever with your thinking.
