    GUEST OPERATIONAL UPDATE

SAILINGS DEPARTING AS OF APRIL 2022

    January 21, 2022

    Dear Carnival Guest,

We have had a very successful restart,
having safely sailed nearly one million guests and operated more than 350 voyages since July. Our commitment to the health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit is reflected in our Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols and procedures, which were developed in consultation with our medical experts and have proven very effective during our restart and adaptable to the evolving public health situation.  Thanks to our stringent, multilayered protocols that far exceed CDC requirements, our case rate has been much lower than what has been experienced in the U.S.

While we had all hoped to have been in a different place with the pandemic by now, it is clear that continued attention to these additional protocols and procedures is required to keep our guests and crew healthy and maintain the confidence of destination officials.  Therefore, until further notice, we will continue to operate vaccinated voyages with our enhanced protocols.  We are not going to try to predict when this current situation will change.

Guests on vaccinated cruises must adhere to our vaccination, testing, and mask requirements, the limited vaccine exemption process and all the protocols which we are following today.  For more information on these matters, please click here .

In the event guests are unable to meet our vaccination requirements and are currently booked on a cruise departing April 2022 and onward, please contact us by February 15, 2022, to receive a full refund.  After this date, all existing bookings will be subject to our normal fare cancellation policies.

In addition to extending our protocols, we are pleased to introduce two other guest service programs we are implementing to facilitate your cruise preparations based on guest feedback we have received.

    1. We are piloting a program on select Mardi Gras sailings using VeriFLY, a secure, free digital health application that allows vaccinated guests the ability to easily upload required pre-embarkation information, like their vaccine attestation, proof of vaccination, negative COVID-19 test results, and their health assessment. Completing these tasks before check-in will make embarkation a faster and more seamless experience.  Once the pilot is complete, we hope to move quickly to implement the solution across the fleet

    2. We are working to expand our testing capabilities at the terminal for vaccinated guests, specifically for our short itineraries (3- and 4-day voyages).  Vaccinated guests will be able to meet the pre-cruise testing requirement as part of the embarkation process for a cost of $10 per test.  Pre-registration is required, and there will be some capacity limits, but it is our intention to make this discounted, convenient testing available to as many guests as possible. Testing sites to support short itinerary cruises will be phased in and announced by the end of January, at which time guests will receive an email to register for testing.

Once again, we encourage you to please visit our Have Fun. Be Safe.  page for complete information on all our health and safety protocols, including testing, vaccine requirements, masks, travel insurance for unvaccinated guests, etc.  While we hope that current testing requirements and onboard protocols will be relaxed as time goes on, it is necessary to plan for what we know today.

Thank you for your understanding.  We look forward to welcoming you on board!

    Sincerely,

Been on two.  There are enough to watch and enjoy but not as many as you think.  A few dozen out of thousands, if I were to guess.

Unless you yourself are really into it and have a great costume, pass.

That was not true of any of the Halloween cruises I have been on, it was way ore than a few dozen.

We'll be on a cruise next year during Halloween. I've read the information on the Carnival website but I'd just like to hear from those who've actually experienced being onboard during Halloween. Are there many guests who dress in costume, is it worth bringing a costume with us? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have done a few Halloween cruises and yes many do dress up, it is a blast, below is me as a cat burglar and my BFF as a black cat. Also a few other random pics, so if you like dressing up I would say do it.

After having major stress over finding a place to be tested for Covid we have decided to cancel our booking and spend our vacation at another destination. I’m sure some of you will see this as a stupid move but the anxiety and stress was very real. After seeing the CVS’s and Walgreens in my area constantly canceling appts and closing their test sites down with absolutely no notice at all I didn’t want to deal with it anymore. When Carnival decides to drop the testing requirement we will book again. Until then we will enjoy our vacation stress free elsewhere 🙂

I completely understand, when they cancelled my upcoming Feb 12, 2022 cruise I was disappointed and relieved at the same time. I really didn't want to have to worried about finding a testing site and getting a home test since most were expiring by years end. I pray by Oct 2022 (Mardi Gras) and Feb 2023 (Sunshine) that testing is a thing of the past. At least a girl can hope!!!

  5. Well I already rebooked, took all of 15mins to get everything transferred over, ended up with a Casino rate with drinks on us while in the Casino and $50 OBC from casino, also $300 OBC because of cancelled cruise. It took all of 30 seconds to connect with Carnival, not a bad wait time at all, I chose the prompt for booking a new cruise and they took very good care of me.😁

So I'm going to extrapolate from the new Jan/Feb protocols regarding the section that eliminates the 5% exception post 12/31 indicating that Carnival believes kids 5 and up will likely be eligible for the shot by then.

Carnival is moving toward 100% vaxxed.  Essentially 'permanently' (meaning for as far as the eye can see).  Mark it down.  I support that decision.

    Me too!!!

  7. Yep, just saw the email this morning and my February 2022 cruise is cancelled 😔

It was my free casino deal with drinks on us and $200 OBC....Bummer!!! But it's still showing in my cruise manager, I guess I will have to wait until October 2022 for my Mardi Gras Cruise. I'm not re-booking anything else unless it's already sailing.

    Dear Carnival Guest:

With 17 ships scheduled to return to service by the end of the year, we are pleased with the progress we are making resuming our guest operations.  However, we will continue to take a phased approach as we bring back the remainder of our U.S.-based fleet in the new year as we staff ships, train our crew on new operating protocols, and work on the many other issues related to the resumption of service.  As a result, we will need some additional time for certain ships, and consequently, your cruise has been cancelled. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment.

If you have yet to receive our bonus incentive package, you are eligible for our future cruise credit (FCC) and onboard credit (OBC) as noted below, or a full refund.  If you already received this offer and have yet to use it, or it was applied to this booking, you can retain it for a future booking consistent with the terms below.

We have fully automated your ability to make your choice online without having to call us. No matter how you purchased your cruise, you can submit your request via our online tool to allow for faster processing. However, if you’re working with a Carnival Personal Vacation Planner or a travel advisor, they may also be able to help answer your questions and explore options.

Please make your selection using our online tool
here. This is the most efficient way to submit your request, as calling will not expedite your refund.

This offer is valid until March 31, 2022, for you to make a selection. If no selection is made by then, you will automatically receive an FCC.*  This letter supersedes any previous offer you received.

Whichever option you select will apply to all guests on your reservation.  Regardless of the option you choose, your taxes, fees and port expenses, Carnival Vacation Protection, pre-paid gratuities, pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, beverage and Wi-Fi packages, and Fun Shop purchases will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment.

If you purchased your own flights for getting to your cruise, we encourage you to contact your airline or travel agent about your options as the airlines are also working to accommodate their passengers.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.  We look forward to seeing you on board!

    Sincerely,

*The future cruise credit (FCC) is based on the cancellation fees retained by Carnival for this voyage, including Fly2Fun air if applicable. FCC and onboard credit (OBC) are combinable with all Carnival-offered fares, are non-transferable, non-refundable, cannot be used as a deposit or applied to a chartered sailing, have no cash value, and must be redeemed on a Carnival Cruise Line sailing departing by 9/30/2023. The FCC/OBC may only be used toward one (1) booking in the same currency in which the above voyage was originally paid. FCC cannot be used for taxes, fees & port expenses, Carnival Vacation Protection, onboard charges or gratuities and any unused portion will be forfeited. New OBC offer replaces any previous OBC offer and applies to new booking if made by 03/31/2022. The booking guest shall be responsible for payment of the difference between the amount of the FCC and the amount of the new booking if higher. After you have booked your new cruise, please use this link to provide us with the booking information so we can process your FCC.

Most won't expire until February 2022. I have been monitoring my manufacture lot# and cross referencing with FDA expiration extension approval letters.  These kits are proving to have a longer shelf-life.

Where did you buy yours, I went to purchase and the site stated the kits expire Dec 2021, I don't cruise until Feb 2022. Thanks in advance.

There WAS.  I was going to go back and copy the part where they said that the logistics of it just didn't make testing at port feasible.  But now the article has changed.  Unless I'm just crazy and added a whole paragraph talking about that and that passengers are encouraged to use the emed test.  Someone who read it earlier come and tell me I'm not nuts!

    You are not nuts!!! 😁

I didn't read that, just lack of mention right?

    Per Carnival's website...

While we had previously raised the possibility of more on-site testing at our terminals, the logistics of making this service widely available to a large number of guests does not make this a viable option. Nevertheless, we did want to provide these additional suggestions for our guests.

  11. Not what I really wanted to hear, I was looking forward to the convenience of being tested at the port. I just checked we have 5 quest locations in my city, at least that's a plus and they do in person testing. Also, I'm wondering where the link carnival is providing will connect you too?
