  1. We booked in December for a Splendor sailing next week (March 17).  I've been watching Miami hotel rates since then as I have been wanting to stay at the Surf Club and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.  A "city view room" is listed at $5100/night!  So much for that idea.  The rates overall just seem crazy even for the high season.

Ended up booking the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour using Marriott points, so now looking forward to trying it for a night.

This was taken in February 2020.  Hope it helps.

Thank you so much.  This was fun to watch, and I also enjoyed your video about Belmond La Samanna.  We plan to stay there ahead of Odyssey next year.

  3. While we all wait to get back on board, I'm wondering if any recent Odyssey cruisers have taken some cabin photos.  I'm particularly interested in seeing the changes introduced during the last dry dock. Seabourn posted a photo or two of Seabourn Square and the Observation Bar, but not much else.

Feeling optimistic and booked on Odyssey again for next year.  Thanks!

What Dr Fauci said on Meet the Press is “If you have an underlying medical condition, don’t get on a cruise ship”.    Let’s not create more hysteria than is already out there.

My point is that such comments are likely to influence how companies respond.  I do not believe his comments are likely to cause hysteria, and have found him to be among the most reliable of the officials tasked with speaking about the situation.

  5. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, appeared on "Meet the Press" today and said “When I say protect, I mean right now. Not wait until things get worse. Say no large crowds, no long trips. And above all, don't get on a cruise ship.”

I wonder how such comments will impact Cunard's thinking and their policy.

  6. I had been planning to book some speciality reservations on Reflection, and noticed that the Murano had no availability on Christmas Eve.  It re-appeared a few days later as "Murano Christmas Eve" for $119, but there are no details.  Has anyone tried this in the past?  I'm curious what's offered for the holiday dinner (and higher price).

  7. Thanks for taking the time to write this up...I found it very interesting.

I couldn't agree more on the technology comparison.  I'll be on Celebrity in December for the first time in several years, and I'm already impressed by their iOS app and the digital experience so far.  It's been fun to play with and I can't wait to see how it functions on board.

Cunard, by comparison, has an abysmal website and no app.  I realize the different audiences have different expectations, but I hope to see Cunard make some effort in the space in the next few years and at least keep up.
