  1. Aw thanks for the kind words. What part of Valley Stream were you from? North, Central, or South. I'm in South, right near Green Acres.

    We were in room 15104.

Loving your review and your story! I am formerly from Valley Stream - I first lived in Cameo Townhomes on Central Avenue and then moved to south VS-Millbrook. My children went to Forest Road School.

I'll be back on the Breakaway on Feb. 28 and I can't wait!

  2. Last year I was on Royal's Quantum of the Seas and they held an Oscar party in one of the music venues. They had a special "Oscar" cocktail menu and the show was on the big screen. Very classy! I will be on the Breakaway this year and am hoping for something similar!

  3. I did a mock booking for a haven suite yesterday (looking at Alaska 2017). The Amex rate was listed with the $300 OBC and all the "free at sea" amenities were listed in that rate. I looked at several different dates and all had the same option. There was also an AARP rate, which was generally $300 less than the Amex rate but it did not list the "free at sea" amenities. So at least for those cruises, the Amex offer seemed to include all the freebies.

  4. My DH and I always travel together and carry on 2 bottles of wine. My son will be in a cabin with his cousin (both over 21) but they will not be boarding together. Is there a process in place to insure that each guest in that stateroom only brings 1 bottle of wine onboard?

We will be boarding Oasis in Port Everglades.

    Thank you.

  5. I do agree the purple people were obnoxious. No offense to them, but they were loud and rude and took over the promenade. We did our best the first few days to steer clear. I'm sorry it ruined the cruise for some. We were fortunate to have a suite. We almost never eat in Windjammer, and honestly the only two places it was very annoying were elevators and promenade. We loved the concierge lounge and our deck. We were in port most days. I had no intention of letting obnoxious people ruin anything for me. If life gives me lemons I make lemonade. I saw my mom suffocate from COPD. Now that is something really bad. So a few obnoxious purple people I work around. The ship was gorgeous, the shows amazing, my suite luxurious, the sights amazing beyond expectation. I loved every minute. I'm sorry so many people seemed to let these rude people ruin it for them. I honestly am.

I wish there was a "like" button. What a great attitude.

  6. I think it is the amount of time you spend doing each thing. For example, "anchor, and snorkel :35" I took to mean you would snorkel at that location for 35 minutes. I found it confusing at first but that was how it was explained to me.

Yes, that is what it means. Time spent for each activity/stop.

  8. Hi. I am booked on this tour in November with 12 others in my group. I will report back with information. However, I did reach out to Shorex by email to determine if we would be bussed to Montego Bay as previously posted. They assured me that the catamaran ride departed directly from Falmouth pier and we would be brought back to Falmouth after snorkeling and beach time. They sent me a detailed breakdown of the time for each activity. I will try to post the schedule.

  9. That is (and was already back then) a direct violation of PVSA as described above - unless the "international stop" was one of the ABC islands, as all other Caribbean ports are considered staying in North America in the scope of that law.

I don't think the cruise went that far south. It was a 7day r/t Thanksgiving cruise from Florida. It was my first-ever cruise and I was a total newbie! I would not have had any idea about this rule. But have since learned about it here on CC!

But I have photos of me boarding the ship with the two officers....they were very handsome! [emoji1]
