1. Here is the link to the google document that has all the info.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/tFLQqw8ixtvQtl2nCgWIoCg/htmlview?pli=1#

First click on the tab labeled concierge lounge.

Then click on the 2 letter ship name under "contact the concierge" on the right hand side to see the address.

Thank you. This is not yet updated for the Quantum but I will try the different configurations and see what happens.

  2. Diamond & D+ members receive 1 hour of internet usage or $29.95 off any internet package.

Does each Diamond member get 1 hour free usage, even if in the same cabin? If so, I can use one hour on my iPhone and one hour on my iPad. Might be all I need for my 9 day cruise in February.

    Thanks for your help.

  3. so we can eat dinner at 7PM - 8PM at the restaurants of our choice.

We're thinking of booking a February sailing, which is 10 weeks away but it's my understanding people have been booking restaurant and entertainment reservations since mid October (120 days prior to sailing). So at this point we're leary to book and than find out we can't get reservations to shows and restaurants at the prime times. Since we are within 90 days we wouldn't be able to cancel the cruise without penalty. Seems like a catch 22.

    Any suggestions?

I booked the Feb. 20 cruise just yesterday and today I confirmed all my dining reservations. I had no trouble getting the times I wanted - mostly between 7pm and 8:15pm. The only restaurant we had trouble with was Izumi but there were plenty of choices for all the others and I was surprised at that. Your sailing may be different but I did not have any trouble. Hope this helps.

  4. NFL games were on the TV's last Sunday when we boarded. Fireworks were Weds night after leaving Great Stirrup Cay. They shoot promptly at 8:30. We arrived way early to get a good space, the we learned that last minute folks were able to just walk in and stand on the dance floor.

Thanks for your response. That is early for the fireworks. I know when I was on the BA in February, they started after 10pm.

Great news about the games. Hopefully the night game is on the big screen!

    Enjoy the cruise!

  5. Dining has been interesting. We are doing only free venues and noticed that the MDR may have a twenty minute wait and you can walk down a flight of steps and be seated in Savor or Taste instantly. No pool chair issues for us.

Thank you for the info. I'm boarding the Breakaway on Sunday when you return. Can you tell me what night the fireworks are scheduled? I believe it is changed for the Bahamas itinerary. Also, were the NFL games available on the ship (asking for DH....Giants v. Eagles on Sunday). :)

    Thanks!

  6. I am guessing you are talking about using a phone or tablet and not a computer.

Biggest and simplest is - TURN OFF WIFI when you are done.

On the older system, you could turn off wifi, but if you were still "logged" in, it kept charging per minute. With the new one, you only pay for actual data transmitted. Turn off wifi and no transmission.

And, to avoid CELL DATA, turn off data roaming.

And, if you do not want to get texts or phone calls, go to airplane mode, or turn the phone totally off.

Thank you. I will use airplane mode and turn wifi on/off as I use it. I am afraid I will miss turning off some auto updates and notifications, so this will help avoid unwanted usage.

I plan to use the iconcierge app on my phone and the wifi data plan on my iPad. Although after about day 2, I will probably shut everything off! :)

    Thanks again.

  7. After reading several different tips for the new internet plan, I thought it might be useful to compile a list of "steps" for those who are not so tech-savvy. I've read about turning off notifications, using airplane mode, logging in/out of wifi each time, etc.

Could those who have experience in this, supply some tips/steps to take for best way to reduce data usage? I think it would be very helpful. Thanks!

  8. I recently saw a posted photo of a party on an H6 balcony (either GA or BA) that showed a set up of hot foods. They were the silver covered serving pans usually seen in the Haven area for hors d'oeuvres.

My DH is turning 50 on our next cruise and I would love to host a party that included warm hors d'oeuvres. Has anyone done this before?

Can someone repost that photo? Thanks!

  9.
Is the balcony a good spot to see the Statue of Liberty on the way out?
12304 is on the port side and the Statue will be on the starboard side. You will be able to see it from afar and better after passing it. If this is important to you, you can go up to the Haven sun deck and see it from the front and starboard side.
  10.
QUOTE=

sjde--In your reply to triptolemus you said "The Breakaway, an aft balcony". So are we talking Haven suite or not?
Yes, it's a Haven suite. #12304
I have been in 12304 and will be there again in October. Definitely as some others have said -one full and one 3/4 bathroom in the suite.
  11. A few years back several cruise lines eliminated smoking in cabins all about the same time. A similar situation with the balcony changes.

Considering that they are competing in the same markets, for the same passengers, it should not be surprising that their market research is drawing the same conclusions. You can expect that one company also has a pretty good idea about major changes that other lines are making.

The end result is the changes are due to competition and are intended to improve the companies ability to compete and make profits.

I expect HAL to also follow, but as with the ban on smoking in cabins, they will probably be about 6 months behind.

The reality is that fewer people smoke, more people are used to smoke free environments, more businesses restrict smoking, and more people are concerned about the health impacts of smoking. Bottom line no main stream cruise line wants to be perceived as the smokers cruise line. If there was big money in catering to smokers you would see a brand aimed exactly at that market.

Thanks for a logical, thought-out response! It's like a breath of fresh air!

  12. I'm a solo traveler, currently booked in S6 #10312 for August sailing. It is the configuration B with the windows in the bathroom and no window in the bedroom. This is the same config. I had on the breakaway in April and I loved the dark bedroom.

But now I'm intrigued reading about configuration A - of the S6 suites - - having an additional balcony entrance door from the bedroom and the windows in the bedroom rather than in the bathroom.

Question, how can I determine which of the S6 cabins have the configuration "A" with the windows in the bedroom and the additional balcony door from the bedroom? I don't know how to identify them in case I want to make a change.

    Thanks in advance Getaway cruisers.

Only the S6 cabins on decks 11 and 14 have the configuration "A" with the additional door from the bedroom.

Have you seen this very helpful spreadsheet put together by a CC member? Here is the link, it will answer your question (of course this is based on the Breakaway)!

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AkRUeqCmOMnGdFZWTVVzZndrc0NkN1N0TGpZb2ZYU2c&single=true&gid=0&output=html

I have stayed in both configurations and for our third cruise on BA in October, we are going with the "B" configuration - we like the dark bedroom!

  13. Well we went swimming at Elbow Beach and the water was just perfect! Maybe a bit brisk, but we are used to the Jersey shore so it felt great.

We stayed aboard the ship for dinner, shows and gaming in the evenings. I did not see any hotspots for nightlife while we were walking through Hamilton.

Was the casino opened in the evening while in Bermuda? I know there was talk about this being the case but I didn't follow the story. Thanks!
