  1. Last March on the Panorama we did self-disembark so we could get off early and we still did not get off until almost 10:00.  We got into port on time, but there was some delay with the ship being cleared by customs.  It was incredibly annoying. I have no idea what time everyone else got off. but there were a whole lot of people still on the ship when we left.

We did an eight day cruise on Magic this past January and loved it!!  Had dinner at the Steakhouse first night and loved the food and service so much, we went there two more nights.  Alchemy Bar was almost always crowded but when isn't it?  Crew as usual was awesome.  Our excursions in SJ, St. Maarten and St. Thomas were lots of fun!  Forgot to add, drink service at Serenity was great!

If you are going out of Port Canaveral, remember to bring a light jacket. Just saw WendyVF's post that Magic is out of Norfolk, but bring a light jacket anyway👍. In January it can be a little brisk until the second day.  Have a great cruise!!

Can you tell me which excursions you did?  I am having a hard time choosing because of all the bad reviews.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Though as a warning....I would highly suggest bringing pants/closed shoes/long-sleeved shirts or a light jacket for an April cruise if you're doing this same one out of Long Beach to the Mexican Riviera (and those are the 'at the very least' items, if you're from somewhere warmer you might need more layers). We did NOT pack for the chilly weather we had Saturday evening through Monday morning and again all day/night Friday, heh

I totally agree!  We did this same cruise in March and October, and on both cruises those last sea days were cold and windy.   We were not prepared at all for that.

  4. Thanks for the review!  It's so nice to read something positive about the Magic.  We are sailing on it for the first time in November and really looking forward to it. We have a similar itinerary, although we are going to St. Thomas instead of St. Kitts, which is disappointing.

What was your favorite dish at Cucina?  We've only done the steakhouse so far, so we are going to try Cucina this time.

I'm with you! If I'm craving something, it's usually something crunchy.

I've always wondered why there were not chips available at Blue Iguana for dipping with salsa, etc

I always thought they didn't offer tortilla chips on the salsa bar because they would go through WAY more salsa than they do now, with people just putting small amounts on their burritos.

The main thing I love about every ship is Blue Iguana Cantina.  For some reason its so criminally overlooked on every ship.  So not much of a tip, but rather an observation.

I love their breakfast burritos made to order.  They will also make you fried or scrambled eggs over where the arepas are (or at least they did on the Panorama)!

Most likely its a cultural thing. P&O owned by Carnival has tea kettles due to it being a British centric line and their cultural love of Tea. While Coffee is the USA equivalent it may not be as popular.

Wouldn't be impossible for Carnival to Contract out for some cheap room K-Cup makers and some rebranded "carnival coffee" C-kups in the room.

I'm sure that people would be taking all the k-cups home as souvenirs, much like people take the pens, paper, towel animals, table decorations, etc.  It's not cost effective for Carnival.
