Updated the image again today. Not like them to update so often? Maybe they're getting a lot of emails from anxious Quantum fans?!

 

 

 

I did notice that the webcam updated to an early morning shot today. What is the purpose of the diagram of MW? I'm just curious as its not related to the webcam. It does show Hall 6 with the bridge between what would be the Getaway and Quantum though (gray line; not yellow)

Just checked out the webcam and there is a new pic. Still tight on the Getaway, but you can clearly see an interior Quantum block on the dock at the left. Might even be one or two more further down the lock towards the aft of the Getaway, but its tough to tell with the cranes in the way.

OK...just heard that it will be Mike Hunnerup who is filling in as CD on Freedom during Richard's break July 7 through August 25

Ha. That's ironic that we'll have him in August. We had Mike on our first RCCL cruise and Richard on our last one. Cycle of life I suppose.

Darn, we are going to miss him by a week as we sail on the 18th of August! He was a blast on EOS last year!

If you look at that pic, while you will notice most of the balcony glass now in Getaway, you should also note that the three Quantum blocks that were adjacent to it have now disappeared. Likely in the drydock about to be welded up (if they are not already).

It's hard to figure this one out because Richard came straight over to Freedom from Explorer (and NOT after a break), so he is not on a typical contract this time, but rather a contract that's split between two ships. He started on EX on February 1st, so that may be considered the starting date of this contract, and not April 7 (or perhaps this particular contract is not going to be 4 months long).

Ah. I knew he was on Ex but didn't know he went from one to another without a break. Either way, from my discussions about contracts with staff while on board, it seems to be 4 or 6 month chunks followed by one or two months off depending on the length of the contract. I think we'll be out of luck in either event as if its a 6 month, math says he's off beginning in August. Be great if someone going on FOS would just ask him when he's on there till!

We are on FOS in August (18th). Given that he started April 7th on Freedom, and most contracts, I believe, are four months, I think we'll miss him by a week. Really stinks since we really enjoyed him as the CD on EOS.

Sometimes a JS is sold by itself and sometimes it is sold as an FC along with the other 2 rooms.

Exactly what I did. Three of us in a JS for the 12/12 sailing. Rep looked up the prices for the JS for three versus the FJS for three and they were the same. He said the regular JS is the better option on ship. The balcony is 162 sq ft versus 80 with the FJS. The FJS does have the extra half bath which accounts for its extra 30 sq ft of room space.

How many beers come in a "bucket" on Royal? On Carnival you get four, and pay for four (something like $22). I seem to recall on Celebrity and NCL you either buy 4, get 1 free .... or buy 5, get 1 free.

It's either four or five. Can't remember. But you pay for what you get. No freebies.

If you don't laminate them, or put them into holders, how do you print and attach the tags? And are the ones at the doc old style sticker tags? Haven't cruised since they mandated printing.

Thanks for the information. The Ron Jon Cocoa Beach Shuttle isn't a tour, but rather a shuttle from the cruise terminal to the Ron Jon store. From there you can go anywhere you wish and pick it back up later to get back to the ship. While the bicycle is a great idea, my wife and I will have our two year old with us so we are regulated to using a stroller for him. The mile walk is nothing for us if its safe to traverse. I already walk several miles a day with the stroller as is.

About how long of a walk is it from the Royal dock to closes trolley stop?

Has anyone booked this through Royal? They are only giving me a choice of 9, 10, or 11 am yet it says it will run all day. We are there something like 10 hours and wanted to go in the afternoon since they have a better excursion for the morning, but would be till 12. Thoughts?
