  1. I wouldn't say more crowed however the mix of adults and kids are different. In the spring and fall (other then spring and fall breaks) the crowds are mostly adults. My son never went to cam carnival at these times because there where only a hand full of kids to play with. In the summer as you would expect many more kids but the overall crowd size is about the same as the ships only hold so many people.

  2. 1. Protection against submarine attacks (stay in a pack)

    2. Protection against the Pirates patrolling the Caribbean (especially near Bahamas).

    3. Captains are drag racing.

    4. Everyone knows drafting saves gas and energy.

    5. One captain is lost, so following the other one to port.

Florida has 5 cruise ports, and on any given weekend, it releases a huge amount of ships into the Caribbean. Some go East, some go West, and some go to the Bahamas. My last stop in Bahamas, there were 5 ships docked. My last stop in Cozumel, there were 4 ships docked. They all arrive at the same time (just about) and leave about the same time. Open waters, and ships all lit up, every evening, it is not unusual to see 3 or 4 ships around you.

There is no reason, other than it's a traffic jam of ships in the Caribbean!!!

Interesting points however i have never seen more then 1 other ship. We sail out of Galveston so maybe theres less traffic?

  3. Just got back from the Freedom this past Saturday! Fish n chips is a BBQ place now. I did not take a pic of the menu, but they offer pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked chicken along with mac n cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad and different bbq sauces. The meat was good! We only tried the mac n cheese as a side and thought it was kinda gross lol. Tasted like noodles with flour sauce, not very cheesy :)

Is the seafood shack on freedom yet? It and the barbecue place i thought where coming at the same time.

  4. maybe we didn't get sick cuz it was so nasty we didn't eat it? lol:D:D

yeah people are BRUTAL on these boards. i've been ripped apart numerous times. it's pretty sad. we're all lovers of cruising so why can't we get along! lol

The ability to stay anonymous is the reason people act the way they do for the most part. Some people are just plain rude but here it America it seems that this is OK now.

  5. I did myself a favor a couple years back and abolished alll my cc debt after being behind for years and closed them all out. What a weight off my shoulders. But I may consider opening one for this and immediately paying it off. Thank you!

We did the same but we keep a few rewards cards just for this type of situation or in case of emergency. And for any reason that might exhaust our emergency fund. Credit cards are not bad its how we manage them that gets people into trouble.

  6. 2 of the 3 ports on my upcoming Western Caribbean cruise are included as some the worst cruise ports to visit. Belize and Roatan. Dang.

Best and worst is subjective. My upcoming cruise includes those ports. It will be my third time in a row with the same itinerary because we like them that much 6th time to Cozumel. Everyehere you go is what you make it be optimistic.

  7. I would not expect many changes before 2020 aside from the ongoing Liberty/Valor swap, which could be reversed if Liberty is repaired, and then the Splendor/Miracle swap in 2018.

If Horizon goes to Galveston, I could see a ship move from Galveston to Fort Lauderdale. Given that Florida's east coast is the industry's center stage, I would still expect Horizon to head to Fort Lauderdale.

In 2020, I would expect the new LNG ship to head to Miami. Vista gets moved to Port Canaveral and joins Magic in sailing year-round from there. Liberty takes the New York/Norfolk/Charleston routes from Sunshine, which are expanded to cover the entire year. Sunshine goes year-round in Baltimore, and then Pride moves its summer service to Boston while continuing to winter in Tampa.

In 2022, the second LNG ship gets home ported in Miami. Victory moves to Mobile, and then Fantasy moves to Galveston.

So it looks like Galveston will be getting the Vista in 2018 it would have been nice to get the new ship but thats not to be. Your thoughts on 2020 seem to be a smart move in light of the LNG ships but the shuffle looks to be haplening in 2018 atleast in afew ports.
