    Good afternoon,

Yes it was upsetting, one was because of a Grandchild becoming very ill , (all ok now)

and another because I got ill.(also ok now )  These had to be cancelled just  days before sail time, so no chance of cancelling.

it just feels harsh that the only difference to Azamara is that we cost them absolutely

nothing! It’s a win win for them

We already had this upcoming cruise booked, so we will obviously go and enjoy.

but it leaves a very sour feeling, so yes we will be jumping ship !

It’s such a shame as I previously said we love Azamara.

    regards

It is a shame, because as said ALL cruise lines have the same exact policy.  If you really loved Azamara, that is not a good reason to change.....  I hope you enjoy your cruise

  2. The points are awarded only after one takes the cruise.  If you purchase an airline ticket and miss the flight, you do not get a refund or miles credited.  If you book a Hotel with and miss your stay and forfeit your payment you also do not get hotel points.

If they allowed that, people could technically purchase a room just to get the points if they are near a level and not take the cruise.  The CC points are "not for sale", they are only for completing a cruise. Sorry, if you do not sail on the cruise, you do not get the points.

You could submit it two weeks before sailing and have already sold it the day after the statement closed. So waiting for almost the last minute is no guarantee that you still own the stock. There is no way they can verify that you still own it no matter when you submit it.

I've had discussions like this with someone on the Holland America board who also claimed that you needed to submit it 2-3 weeks before instead of what the terms actually said. You do what you want and the rest of us will go by the stated terms.

And you do what you want and I will be honest and follow the rules.

We are on your Equinox sailing in March.  I was pretty excited to see that I might finally get shareholder credit like we have been getting with CCL for years.  I emailed in the form and documents on Wed.  I received a confirmation email from Celebrity that it was received.  I was delighted to see an email from Celebrity this morning until I saw that I had been denied.  I went to the link provided and the only thing I can find that would apply is that our reservation was made in Jan 2019.  Since you frequently get different answers from different people at Celebrity, I’m wondering if it’s worth trying again next week.

You can always try again, but I do not think it will help.  The new benefit is for bookings made after June 2019, not before.  If you made the reservation in January of 2019, it is not eligible,.

But once again, the "right way" is to go by their rules. And their rules do not say that you need to wait until final payment, or even 2-3 weeks before the cruise. But we can agree to disagree.

But the rules do say that one must own the stock at the time of sailing, and no one can guarantee that they will still own the stock six months or a year or longer from now.  No one knows what the future holds.  We will definitely agree to disagree

You know there is no way they can enforce that since they're not going to check after they apply it, even if you get it right before sailing. And the form says "at least 2-3 weeks prior to sailing." It does not say "no more than 2-3 weeks prior to sailing".

I'm not suggesting that people sell their stock after getting it, but telling people not to apply until after final payment isn't helpful. Better to do it now and not forget about it. I'm going to submit my Royal Caribbean cruise in September.

Personally, I am thrilled that they did this(and had not heard until I found this thread). The shareholder offer for Royal used to be worthless, but fortunately their stock did well  Carnival was much more liberal with theirs.

That's fine, I just try to be honest and do it the right way.  to each his own

  7. And I am surprised that people say they got the credit for future sailing later this year and next.  The rule states that you have to own at least 100 shares AT TIME OF SAILING.  I do not apply for the credit until I make my final payment.

When people say on line do they mean fill out the pdf request form and email it with a brokerage statement, or is there some form you fill out on the web and hit submit?   I'm assuming it's the former which I've always done.  It generally takes 3-10 days to get a response.

There is actually a form to fill out on line and attach the brokerage statement as an attachment.  Very easy to do.  No emailing required

Perks are offered on transatlantic, transpacific & repositioning Cruises.  I currently have 2 transatlantic cruises booked with 3 perks and 4 perks with the transpacific.

Another change for the better.  We did not get any perks with our last repositioning cruise

What type of food do they serve? We were offered it for $40 per person so I can't understand why others are paying full price. $55 seems pretty steep.

On ours, a seafood bisque, lobster, filet mignon, and ice cream for dessert.  I do not eat lobster or seafood bisque, so I substituted French Onion soup and Chicken Breast.   Way way too much food !!!

I just signed up for this on a sea day for my September cruise on the Connie. Seeing lots of mixed reviews I will be watching if these to decide if we will go or cancel. It appears to be well done from the youtube videos I have viewed. Experiencing it once is hopefully an entertaining dinner.

Food and entertainment is very subjective.  I wouldn't rely on reviews.  If you enjoyed it on youtube, give it a try.  Enjoy your cruise

  12. We booked one from Southhampton to Boston mainly because it stops in Greenland, somewhere we have never been before.  It is not a repositioning cruise, in the traditional sense, and is priced as a standard cruise.  Even traditional repositioning cruises have gotten more expensive lately.  The other benefit with this cruise not being repositioning, is that all perks apply.

$20 of the charge goes to the company that provides the animation or so I was told. Doubt they will renew the contract.

We had dinner with the F & B Manager and was told they have already purchased 4 more LPC dinner presentations

Thanks for the information.   I wasn't aware they had an on-line request.   Just went and took a look and will process a couple requests today.

it is easy.  If you have any questions, just let me know

  15. Yes, just did the on-line request for 3 Azamara cruises and 2 Celebrity and all were honored.  I actually applied even before my final payment is due.  These cruises were all booked after June 1, 2019 so they fell within the new guidelines.  It should be no problem.  Good luck and enjoy your cruise.

I have also had OBC from a TA that was non-refundable, it only was 2 occasions but I was told when I booked that it was non-refundable.  In both occasions I also had the $300 perk OBC from X.
Every time I read a post saying that if OBC comes from a TA it is refundable I just cringe.  I have occasionally posted that TA OBC can be non-refundable and invariably a number post saying if it is TA OBC it always refundable.

Jelayne, IF the TA actually sends Celebrity $$$ as an OBC for you it is always a refundable OBC.  If it is actually a perk from Celebrity that the TA passes to you it is non-refundable.  I have confirmed this with Celebrity and three different TA's.  Some TA;s try to pass off this perk and claim it is from them.  It is NOT.If your TA is honest, they will tell you the truth up front what kind of OBC you are getting.

We will be on the Infinity next year for our 50th Anniversary and on the night of our Anniversary we are thinking about doing the LPC, is the setting very romantic or would we do better at Tuscan?  We are AQ class so we also have Blu for dinner.

    Thanks for any help.

LPC is fun, as I stated, but not a place for a romantic dinner.

  18. It is something worth seeing.  The food is ok, not as good as a sit down meal in Luminae, but it is very creative and, again, something worth seeing at least once.  We were  not going to see it, but were invited as a guest of the F&B Manager, and were very glad we did attend.  Would we do it again ?  Maybe to see the new versions that are coming out, but would not do the same one twice.  It takes about 90 -120 minutes for the entire dinner
